Gay erotic romance. Stephen Dominick is a sophisticated, world-famous multi-millionaire. Gabriel Mason is a young, naive college student. After Dom deliberately leaves him aching and unfulfilled, an angry Gabriel decides to turn the tables and take control of their relationship. But can he really shift the balance of power between them and dominate the older man?
Length: Novella (12,000 words). This is a serial romance.
Meg Harris is a busy mom who spends her spare moments dreaming up worlds a little sexier than the one in which she drives kids around, runs to the grocery store, does endless loads of laundry, and scrubs the kitchen floor. Her chosen profession involves a great deal of time dedicated to imagining sweaty, gorgeous men in the throes of passion, as well as long hours spent poring over pictures of beautiful male chests in the pursuit of the perfect cover. It's a tough job, but she's willing to bear the hardships... all for her readers, of course!
This is a teeny, tiny book that is really a chapter of a longer story. If you start this series, be prepared to purchase all the mini books because none of the stories stand alone (a pet peeve for me) and in my opinion, once you purchase all the books you are paying too much for the word count and quality of the story. I read all 5 books in a morning whilst looking after 7 kids and cleaning the house...that's how short these books are!
This story is hard to rate because the two MCs are so very difficult to like. They are both spoilt, nasty little shits and I really don't think they deserve a HEA...to be honest, they both need to be sent into time out and soundly spanked for their revolting behaviour. Added to that, these books are basically porn...over 80% of the word count is sex, not love-making, sex. Sex fueled by anger and angst and pain and guilt and self-loathing.
If you are looking for porn without romance cluttering up the story AND have money to burn, then read this series...it's not bad but I won't count it among my favourites...I will re-read the series when the 6th (and hopefully final) book comes out in February 2013 but after that I doubt I will revisit them.
I find I'd really probably rather give this one 3.5 stars instead of 4, but it definitely ranked better than a solid 3, so 4 stars it is. Gabriel is still trying to figure out how to accept his attraction to Dom, and Dom is still slowly teaching Gabe what it means to be attracted to a man. The heat between these two men is palpable. I find myself growing frustrated with Gabriel's refusal to admit he is entirely hot for his best friend and doesn't actually *love* his long-time girlfriend. I'd like to see a bit of interaction between Gabriel and Kerryn. The internal dialogue descriptions of her are irritating at times, but when the stories are so short, it is understandable why this was not expanded upon. I am enjoying Gabriel's journey of discovery, but I'm a bit mixed about my feelings toward Dom. At times, he just comes across as a complete a-hole with no feelings for Gabriel whatsoever. I find it difficult to believe Gabriel is *that* naive, too. Still, there is plenty of grit and plenty of heat to keep me interested in what will happen next for the pair.
2.5 stars I really shouldn't review this because I haven't read the first 2 books in this series. (I didn't realize this was a series when I read it.) I don't recommend reading this book without having read the previous 2 books.
I didn't really like either of the MCs. I thought that they were pretty rude to each other and I didn't feel any chemistry. But, as I said, I should have read the other 2 books. Maybe my feelings would change.
