Sarah is supposed to give a lecture on quilts to the local high school home economics class, when she gets there the teacher is missing. There is an old quilt that has been torn in half that she restores, while looking for the teacher. The teacher had a very private life and no one seems to know anything about her. Her granddaughters are fighting over boy and a class dance.
This book has it's pros and cons but it's still as good as any of the other warm, cozy books in this series and fans of the series will no doubt enjoy it.
In its favor, it is a well-written story and a quilt actually figures into the story, unlike the previous book in the series, The Christmas Quilt. On the other hand, the story is based on the ancient and hackneyed trope.
Quick, easy to read, Christian cozy mystery. I have read most of this series which features Sarah Hart who lives in small town Maple Hill Massachusetts. She is a well know quilter and mystery sleuth. This time she is scheduled to give a lecture on quilting to the high school home ec class; but when she arrives, the teacher has disappeared without a trace. I enjoyed the very surprising ending as well as Sarah's set of twin granddaughters.
This is book #18 of The Patchwork Mysteries, a gentle cozy mystery series. This is a great series and this title is also very good. It kept me guessing! It involves a missing Home Ec teacher and a stained dirty old quilt that was torn in two. Sarah Hart, the grandmother-aged protagonist is afraid that something nasty has happened to the teacher. By following clues and hunches she eventually learns enough to put herself in danger before she finally solves the mystery.
This series is interesting if not great writing. The series all takes place around quilting which makes it fun for me. Each book is written by someone different but they are remarkably consistent. In this one Sarah gets in a little more danger than usual.
I really enjoyed this installment of the Patchwork Mysteries! It kept me guessing and it didn't end as I expected. This book centers on the disappearance of the local home ec teacher and her son. Well written and a good mystery.
# 18 is the Patchwork series. Good mystery and you don't have to read them in order. Read again May 2015 in order. Audrey & Amy and Emma Sue and Ella Sue are quite different pairs...
