Haunting of a Witch

Rate this book
Her Troubled Past Hayden Wells deals with plenty of ghosts, but she’s never met one who was terrified. Not until now. And the only way to help the dead is to find the living. Unfortunately, the man she seeks is a killer, so she must go to the only ones who can help her, the ones she fears most. His Ominous Future Detective Trevor Roch knows Savannah, its streets, its people, and its secrets. At least he thought he did. When a homicide case unlike any he’s ever encountered brings him face to face with unfathomable evil, he doesn’t know what or whom he can trust. And the golden-eyed woman who’s turned his world around is the absolute last person he would put faith in. An Unexpected Love When innocent women are endangered, Hayden and Trevor will be forced to work together. She’s a witch and he’s a cop, yet passion rages between them. Opposing worlds clash as they race to save human lives. And the souls that are already damned.

Imagine being a police officer in Savannah, and having some beautiful woman come in to help you on case, that seems like she knows what she’s talking about, but then you find out it’s because she talks to ghosts. How to wrap your mind around that one?

Now, imagine BEING that beautiful woman, knowing you wont be believed, but knowing some REALLY bad things are going to happen, and you will have even more ghosts bothering you than you already do, if you don’t get this officer to believe you. Oh…and at the same time, you’re part of a coven that has been tasked to save the world from a really nasty demon.

The complicated relationship between these two is fantastic. And I really love both of them together – even when they SAY they don’t love being together.

And as the coven keeps getting stronger, it is truly awesome to see how angry the Amara become (the bad guys that are supposed to resurrect said nasty demon). They thought it would be easy to defeat the inexperienced coven, but are finding out more and more that these women are going to be tough to beat.

The writing in each of these stories continues to get better and better, and I can’t say enough about how much I love these women, their matching cats, and their extremely sexy and tough in uniquely different ways men. 5 out of 5 starts! ~Erin

An absolute treat to read! More of the Savannah Coven is just what I needed. Opposites attract and past wrongs are forgivable. Hayden deals a blow to the Amara and there is a huge shift in bad guy arsenal. All I have to say is "What next?" Can't wait for the next installment.

Another good one from Suza Kates. As always, Suza keeps your interest all the way the through as another Cove sister met her trial. Guess I'll put my big witch panties away until book 5. I will definitely be more leery the next time I see crows perched. Thanks Suza!

I Loved this series and think it would make a good movie. Talk about a fun exciting ride! wow this was a big roller coaster. A great variety of emotions, some even intense or deeply sad. This story is based in the southern United States and is packed of multi-genre. Paranormal, Romance, Magic, Fictional History and Mystery. Each book becomes more thrilling and the author keeps you wondering "what comes next" throughout the entire series.

I purchased this box set of the first 3 stories first but before starting the second book I bought books 4-9. yes, I was hooked from the beginning.

The only thing i found distracting in the series was the increasing use of story repetition. In some places it is like the author is trying to fill pages by repeating previous written information. Regardless, i would highly recommend the series.

Hayden is the covens medium who is contacted by a ghost who was murdered and needs help finding her murder so she can rest. The problem is the murder is was brought in by the Amara so they could collect the souls for their evil purpose (which I will not give away). The body count rises and the coven is determined more than ever to stop the amara and save the innocent souls. Hayden goes to the local police to share the information about the killer and Trevor (a tough cop working the case) believes Hayden is a fraud and refuses to believe her. They end up working together to discover the killer, fight the amara and the intense attraction they feel for each other. These books just get better as the series goes along. Highly recommended!

Well, I'm definitely getting more and more happy with this series as I get further along. The action is getting more intense, the drama is getting darker, and the witches are getting stronger! The books are actually short compared to what I normally read (around 250-300 pages), but Suza says a lot in those pages. There haven't been any pauses in the story. Yes, she has 2 or 3 subplots going but when she changes between them, you really don't mind because you want to know what's going on with them as well as the main story. Definitely gonna look at Suza's other works.

I enjoyed this book and am only sad that I read it too quickly and am now forced to wait for more books to come out in the series to figure out what happens to the Savannah Coven next. While the formulaic part of finding a boyfriend for each witch is a bit strange, I like that the witches are strong characters and that the romance just seems to enhance their strength, rather than putting them as dependents to men or fighting back in a too-feminist manner.

wow! loved this book. Hayden is one of my favorite witches and she absolutly lived up to my expectations. And her cop? Yummy.
I really think Suza Kates gets better woth every book she writes. I have said that I LOVE her stand alone books (She who is hidden and The Penance stone), but the Savannah Coven has sucked me in - more with each witch.
If you havn't read a Suza Kates book before: just do it! You won't regret it.

Still really enjoying this series. Even though the books run on a similar theme since it is a continuation from book to book, each story is separate enough not to be predictable. Next!

The Nine Witches

Witch number 4 - her trial against the armar and dark witch and suddenly demons coming out of the everywhere (I thought they were to battle only one bad ass demon) and Hayden, witch 4, the Medium comes into more of her magic. As with all the witches in the coven, while preparing for their going big battle, Hayden snagged her a cop as a live interest but unlike the first three books, their relationship was quite volatile until it wAsn't. Ready for Book 5!

Good vs Evil

Another riveting tale of love conquering all!

Suza does it again in the 4th of the series, spinning a web of magick and love, of light overcoming darkness.

Starting to get faster paced now. Can't wait to see who is next in line to battle the darkness and find her true love!

Fine fluff series, 4th in. Fast read if you can power through the gory bits. Romantic entanglement, occult. Suspense. Not much new, but fine formulaically.

The more I read these days the worse I feel for these authors. I was excited about reading this book because I enjoy the series. It is disturbing when something as key as editing deters you from finishing s book. In some cases I felt like I had to decide the sentence yo understand what Kates was saying.it takes away from the story. I mae myself complete the book. It was a good storyline. These are beloved characters and I am enjoying reading about them and their trials. The fact that they find love is an axed bonus. I also have to speak on a couple points where I wasn't clear on what had happened because of some of the descriptive words used. There was a battle scene that had me confused for a moment because I thought someone was hurt but she was describing their feelings for another. Overall pretty good work despite the mishaps.
