Tadatoshi Fujimaki (藤巻 忠俊, Fujimaki Tadatoshi, born June 9th, 1982, Tokyo) is a Japanese mangaka, most known for his manga Kuroko no Basuke, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump. Fujimaki was brought up in a good household and environment. He attended Toyama High School and enrolled to Sophia University. He chose for a manga career after finishing his studies.
I have to say I am enjoying this reread A LOT. Actually more than I expected to - I am literally falling in love with everyone all over again, especially a certain green-haired tsundere. Hearing the anime's voice actors' voices while reading this really adds to the experience - that really was some EXCELLENT casting. But what also helps is reading this without the fandom, kind of. Fandom is awesome a lot of the times, but it also adds so much drama.. and now I can enjoy the manga as is.
It's certainly not perfect - I could do without the boob jokes, really, but the characters really are just so very lovable. Maybe it's because Kuroko no Basket was my first sports manga, but I really love these guys more than any other sports manga's characters.
(One great thing about revisiting a fandom is that in this case I literally own hundreds of doujinshi, some of which are actually good.)
In this volume, some new characters appeared. Every character is very interesting. I want to see their play in the winter cup! And a dog is very cute and he seems to Kuroko very well.haha

While I am technically reading the fifth omnibus edition for this, this half made the perfect stopping point. We're now into the start of Season 2, and it looks like there will be more cliffhangers. I'd like to organize my thoughts and jump to another book before I continue forward.
One thing I'm liking more with the manga at the moment compared to the anime is the immediacy of the games. While I did binge more of the second and third seasons when I watched them (quarantine will do that to you), Fujimaki's great at establishing heightened emotions and not making some of the moves feel as exaggerated. This could change given we haven't gotten into the zone yet (also a great album by Britney Spears). Each match has had something different at stake.
The introduction of Atsushi and Himuro given Yosen will be the final battle for this chunk was also done well. I like that the former Generation of Miracles/Miracle Generation members have different attitudes towards basketball. Their drives compel them to play the way they do, and they seem well-matched to teams that draw out those strengths (or weaknesses depending on how you view it). The brief conflict between Daiki and Momoi (which thank god Caleb Cook didn't make that exchange overtly racist. The anime dub went without) is a perfect example of this. While you'd think the teams would want to hold back their biggest threats, Kuroko's statement about them going full throttle while only being high school students adds a sense of unease. We haven't been properly introduced to Akashi yet. Despite my problems with his characterization and how it paints mental illness/neurodivergent people (not good), his introduction is iconic and only proves how motivated he is to win at any cost. I can't wait for that!
There are some minor problems I'm been clocking. The framing of the women and side characterization still lacks some oomph to make me fully comfortable with committing wholeheartedly with these characters. That said, it is fun to be back and see how this series has impacted my relationship with anime sports. The fem coded empowering character playlists don't hurt either.

I first knew about this series by the anime, and I've watched it entirely in 2021. But in one of my birthdays my relatives gave me five of the mangas, and I have decided to read them just recently. This one was the last of my volumes, and it wasn't the best of them, but it was really good. I just think it was kind of without any purpose, like coming from nowhere and going to nowhere. But, besides that, it was good. It gave me the desire to rewatch the anime series.
We got a bunch of new characters this volume! Some of them are other 'miracle generation' players, it's cool to see their differing personalities. They're also all kind of annoying, which makes sense given how Kuroko stopped playing with them because they sort of sucked (as teammates/people). But most of all...
PUPPY THERE'S A PUPPY THERE'S A CUTE PUPPY AHHHHHHHH BEST CHAPTER OF THE SERIES THUS FAR 10/10
Although I like shipping Aomine with Kise, it irritates me when the atmosphere of the story give this impression of Kise being on the same level as Aomine, It just too much. Aomine is much better.
Oh my gawd! What an exciting match that was! Damn. It's like i'm leaning and almost falling off a chair. Hahaha 98 against 110points. Touou Academy won. Kise did his best though. :) Aomine is really strong.
Aww.. my gosh! What a cute doggie! ♡ haha! It does look like Kuroko. The eyes! XD hahaha! Omg! Its their day off and they'll still play basketball. Haha. "Seihou" is there too. Oh my! A new character appeared. Himuro Tatsuya-kun whom seems to be a friend of Kagami. Or well, more like a big brother figure to Kagami. They have the same ring/ necklace. So Tatsuya-kun taught Kagami how to play basketball. Fufufu this is getting way interesting. Since Tatsuya is also part of "Yosen".
What? "Rakuzan"? Is the defending champ? And Touou Academy was a just a runner-up? O_O more monsters?! Lol there!! The guy who eats while getting lost.
Murasakibara Atsushi. Part of Yosen team. The center. At first glance, he seems intimidating but he's actually pretty carefree. :)))))

Nooo my poor Kise :'( While I kind of like Aomine I just can't stand his attitude! I hope he can change and come back to really enjoy playing basketball with others! I liked a lot this volume. We get to see a new member from "The Generation of Miracles" and an old friend of Kagami's. Plus I just came to live even more my Kuroko because he's sooo sweet whit Momoi-san! *-* I need someone like him :P
The final quarter of the match between Kise and Aomine was so high-paced and unbelievable, I was holding my breath all the way through! I think I'm gonna become one of those basketball fanatics some time soon, after reading all this manga. Also has some Seirin training and a street basketball tournament.
