I write spicy romance books that end in an HEA. Contemporary romance, historical romance, paranormal romance…I write it all. The two things my books all have in common is lots of emotion and spice. Last year, I fell in love with a new subgenre: mafia romance. Since I write what I love to read, I started a new standalone series, Syndicate Rules where you’ll meet over the top alpha heroes in the Italian and Greek mafias as well as the Irish mob. There are arranged marriages, forced marriages, enemies to lovers, stalkers, forced proximity and lots of mafia intrigue. Morally gray is my new favorite color.

I’ve been published a while and most of my 90+ books have hit the Nielson Bookscan bestseller list, a few ended up on the USA Today bestseller list and some even hit national bestseller lists in the UK and Australia. My books have been translated into numerous languages and are for sale in dozens of countries around the world. I’ve won awards and been published with most of the big houses in New York, but my greatest achievement is touching readers’ hearts. When I hear from a reader who got caught up in one of my books, I know I’m doing what I’m meant to do.

I love writing emotionally deep stories with snappy dialogue and solid plots. I’m more grateful than I’ll ever be able to express that so many readers have taken my stories into their hearts and put my books on their reread and keeper shelves.

Ok... so what we have here is a h who has been done majorly wrong by her H. Because i'm blood thirsty when it comes to groveling and grudge holding i think Lucy Monroe dug herself a hole here that she had little hope of the characters climbing out of. Of course others will disagree because they're not as bloodthirsty as i am.

basically 6 years ago H thinks more of his alpha than his true mate. Alpha tells H that the h can't be his mate for a number of reasons, one being that if she was his mate she would be able to bear his children. H recinds his respectful courting intentions publicly even though h protests that she thinks she's pregnant. H basically takes that to mean that she has been sleeping around on him and is surprised when she moves with her family out of the village. Apparently she was supposed to stay behind by herself, yeah i'm not understanding that logic much either.

6 years later. the wool is finally taken from the H's eyes about his beloved alpha and he suspects that she really was his true mate and is out there somewhere but hasn't really bothered to find her because he has more important things to do. oh and someone told him she was dead, he doesn't really believe this, but still isn't charging out of the highlands to find her either. big black marks against him for that.

While the H is taking his time trying to grow a pair, the h has no other option but to go into forced consent marriage hell that is medieval matrimony. Her parents now treat her differently because she allowed herself to get pregnant out of wedlock and her adult stepson is constantly trying to kill her son and call it an 'accident'. Her parents have died at some point over these 6 years and so has the odious husband. The story starts with the h escaping with her kids and friends from the evil stepson who wants to make the h his mistress.

What follows is the h bumping into the H and having some righteous anger... but not angry enough to turn away some sex that very night.... so lets sum up here because from now on the arguments keep going in cirlces.... because of the H the h has been in forced consent hell for 6 years where she has lost her parents regard and is constantly on the lookout for her evil stepsons plots to kill her son. the H, due to the mating bond hasn't been able to get laid for 6 years. but you know that if he could've gotten it up, he would've jumped into whatever bed the alpha told him to jump in.... big whoop! the poor h is living in her OWN PERSONAL HELL for six years and the H's only problem for 6 years was that he couldn't get it up! For this kind of angst i want to see some rigid spines, silent treatment... blood! but no, even though she puts up some kind of fight it's clear that forgiveness is in the works because she has 'no other choice' COP OUT!...

but wait it gets worse! she finds out that EVERYONE she trusted and holds dear has been lying to her about themselves and what will happen to her son when he goes through puberty... at this point i'm wanting the h to flip everyone the bird, grab her kids and continue onto Balmoral Island to her distant family. Stay there, and not say a freaking word to those that had done her wrong until they show some pretty impressive grovelling and backed up with their remorse with actions... Of course not. what happens is the h & H circling around the "i went through 6 years of hell because of you" and "yeah well, i couldn't get laid for 6 years!". while the h spreads her legs and refuses to marry the H at the same time (for some people this is the h showing her spine, to me it's just plain BS)...

Finally and very begrudgingly the H puts the h first by travelling to Balmoral to state his intentions to her family before going to slay the bad guy. oh and while slaying the bad guy the H finds out that her parents didn't stop loving her after all. their weird behaviour was all the bad guy's fault. So ALL the bad things that had been done to the h were the bad guy's fault even though he barely said 2 words to her... apparently everyone who had hurt her in her life couldn't take responsibility for their own actions which caused her misery when they could blame the evil guy for manipulating them... although her parents do get a little bit of a free pass on that one.

so many times i almost gave up on this book... so. many. times... i'm still trying to work out if it was worth finishing it in the long run. I guess they did get their HEA in the end but only if the H is willing to put up with the h reminding him 'remember that time you believed that evil bastard over me and i had to live in 6 years of hell because of it?'

I love PNR, but this one didn't do it for me. I felt like we were constantly taking a break to explain the mythology/world build through conversations. Endless conversations... Granted, it has to be tough to seamlessly build mythological worlds and give the background without info-dumping. However, I have read plenty of PNRs that have managed quite well. Considering this wasn't the first book in the series, I was surprised at how much 'splaining was going on.

For those of you who seek out betrayal stories where the hero has to earn his way back to the heroine, that part wasn't bad, I just thought the hero was dim witted.

It took me a while to get through this one...much longer than any other in the series. Honestly, I just wasn't into this one. The way the h went back and forth between giving in to the H and then giving him a hard time for leaving her six years prior annoyed me. She was very inconsistent.

Also, if the H's "gentian" blue eyes were mentioned one more time...good grief. And the big "challenge scene" at the end took less than 10 pages. I loved the first 3 in the series, but this one I found to be a bit boring. I probably won't buy the next one.

Caelis the Chretch who needs to grovel and Shona the mate he wronged.
Six years ago, Caelis repudiated his true mate and set her on a path to hell.
So of course the premise is twofold. The H must prove he is worthy of her trust again and they must defeat their old lord, who is a staunch Fearghall and an evil liar.
Although Caelis' reasons for refusing to marry Shona were based on the lies of his laird, a man he trusted, they were no real excuse. And Caelis must come to know this in his heart. The reader has to be convinced that Shona will never be set aside as second best by Caelis.
So most of the story is Caelis and Shona working through their issues. They get a running commentary from their two kids and Shona's two young friends. There is a secondary romance towards the end that was cute and served as a foil to their own. There are lots of cameos from characters of previous books. I didn't read the book before this but there is a lot more mysticism in this one than I remember in the first 3.
The taking down of the enemy was really more of a side note in the story and helped tie it all together. But the author has left tantalizing loose threads for future books.
I truly felt Caelis grew as a character and was totally satisfied with their HEA.
I really appreciated Ms. Monroes understanding of what it would take to forgive that kind of betrayal. The only thing that makes it seem less plausible is that most of it happens in less than 3 days ; )
The reason I only gave 4 stars and not 5 was it was a bit drawn out here and there.
safety is good imho

How I love reading about shapeshifters. Especially in this Children of the Moon series. And this time around, Lucy Monroe has given readers a new take on the werewolf.

Shona is fleeing England to escape the clutches of her stepson, the new baron since his father’s death. He wants her just because he can have her, but he wants her son dead. Eadan is not the old baron’s son, though no one other than Shona and a few others know that, so Percival is out to make sure the boy is no competition for his new title. Finally crossing into Scotland, Shona and her party are intercepted by Sinclair warriors, and she hopes they’ll be allowed to continue on to Balmoral Island where her only relatives reside. What she doesn’t expect is to come face to face with the man she was to marry six years ago. The father of her son.

Seeing Shona again is a shock to Caelis, but seeing the remarkable likeness her son bears to himself is nearly more than he can take. His mate is back in his life, and this time he’s not about to let her go. Caelis is the type of alpha warrior I love. The combination of wolf and man, along with fighting skill, makes him arrogant and confident, which he’s entitled to, but he’s about to learn a huge lesson from someone of the female persuasion. Caelis believes all should be forgotten and they can start their family right now, which will also include Shona’s daughter. That’s another thing I like about him – the children love him, aren’t the least bit afraid, and this huge warrior is as gentle as can be with them. But Shona has got some news for Caelis.

Her heart is still quite damaged from the treatment she received at his hands all those years ago. She doesn’t trust him one iota, and her heart will be protected this time around. But she’s also in for quite a surprise when she begins to learn about Caelis and the Faol, the Fearghall, the Ean, and such impossible tales about mates, shape-changers, and other fantastical things. Seeing is believing, however, when Caelis shifts into his wolf form, and that’s when a lot of things she’d never understood before begin to make more sense. Especially when it comes to her parents, who wanted nothing to do with her when she was pregnant, and her son, who is everything to her. Shona is still determined, though, to make Caelis prove he’s now trustworthy, and little by little she starts to see those tiny changes that allow her to break down those barriers around her heart.

Caelis has changed. He finally saw how the MacLeod alpha has been deceiving their pack/clan for so long, which is how he lost Shona to begin with. Training and honing his craft for years now has put him in a position to right so many wrongs, and with Shona by his side? He’ll be invincible. Getting her to agree to stand with him is the hard part, but when he is pushed to reveal his true nature as a Chrechte shifter, she begins to understand what it is Caelis has to do.

I thoroughly enjoyed both of these characters. Shona is a strong woman, made that way by betrayal, at least how she sees it. She’s endured much and now is determined to live life on her own terms. She just doesn’t expect her feelings for Caelis to be as loud and strong as ever. I like the way she sticks to her guns when making him work for the trust between them. As it is with such alpha heroes, though, he ends up putty her hands, as well as his children’s hands, but he will protect them with his life and love them with all his heart.

I also love the shifting of the wolves, the birds of prey, and even the dragon I didn’t expect. That’s when I realized I somehow missed reading Dragon’s Moon, and I aim to remedy that as soon as I can. There’s got to be some major shifting going on in that book. This is a wonderfully intriguing world Lucy Monroe has created, and I love being there with her characters. Im hoping there’s more books to come in this series, but I couldn’t find anything on her web site about that. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I don't have any word to tell how I loved this book. I have known Lucy Monroe for a few years and until now, I only knew her Harlequin Présents books. So, I didn't know what to expect with a paranormal romance. It's my first one in this series and now I want to read the others. I absolutely LOVED the characters, especially Shona. What a Heroine!
I also loved the fact that even if the characters are mated, the author makes the difference between being mated and being in love.
Just read it!

I have enjoyed the first two books in Lucy Monroe's Children of the Moon series, and while this was enjoyable, it did not quite deliver the same punch. There were too many supernatural races being bandied abut, and frankly a lot of times it was confusing. So, enjoyable, but not quite as much as Moon awakening (my fave)

Actually this book is a 3 1⁄2

Warriors moon was confusing at 1st because I couldn't figure out the order that children of the moon novels were in.If you've had this problem I can tell you that the No. 1. is Moon awakening, 2. moon craving 3. Moon burning, 4. Dragons moon, 5. Warriors moon, 6. Vikings moon.I hope that this helps you somewhat. If you read them in order it is 100% brighter, but if you get them out of order you will be lost, Or at least I was. I love the 1st 2 books I could never get those out of sync ,But the 3rd 1I had pretty much down but the 4th and 5th one had evaded me Totally. Now that I know warriors moon is 5 I will have to go back to 4 and read dragons moon before I even get to Vikings moon. I tried Vikings moon thinking that I could read it stand alone. I could not and had to give up on it. I do remember bits and parts about warriors moon book but not enough to know where it was going. So I am very glad that I have these finally in order written down Because I even research this on Lucy Monroe's web page trying to find children of the moon's list and couldn't. You will love Marjorie, she's a little 3 year-old girl who speaks her mind, pop's her thumb back into her mouth, and will make you laugh out loud as children sometimes do. She in fact is the 1 who made me realize that I had read this book a long time ago so, out of the mouths of babes... Happy reading and please don't give up on this series. My husband started to watch a movie last week, and it was about Fae's, and the wolves shifting, so I was very excited that I could relate to him what was going on. (Much to his chagrin I think. Lol) Again, Happy Reading! Donna

This was a solid book. I liked it but I didn’t love it so much that I couldn’t put it down like I have with some other books.

I liked how the author switched between the two POVs for Shona and Caelis. Often in romance you only get one perspective (usually the woman’s) so it was refreshing to have the insight into the other person’s thoughts and feelings.

It was hard to reconcile the Caelis of the present with his actions in the past; I couldn’t imagine him abandoning Shona and being so naive. But I guess that’s what character development is all about??

I very much liked Shona’s spunk - she was fiery, strong and fiercely loved her children. Her love for her children was definitely a defining characteristic, and i like how it strengthened her.

There was a satisfying amount of angst and grovelling in the story on Caelis’ part, and I felt that it was appropriately paced for the forgiveness/reconciliation process between the two lovers.

All up, a good read. This is the first book I’ve read in this series, but the author did a good job of giving enough detail about the history of the series without getting bogged down in it. Will definitely be going back for more!

I enjoyed it

It was ok on the sexy scenes. Pg. the storyline was really good and the characters all aligned well. The h I was really enjoying but of course felt she gave in way too quick. They go in and on about years of abuse and then poof she forgives him. I also was really loving how she was human and they had to accept her liver her for that but of course they make it later she has ancestry and that bugged me as she wasn’t good enough just human. That was the point of the story. But overall it was good and I’d like to read some others but 7.99 for a kindle book bugs me

I don't like it when authors make children talk like adults with a Phd in literature. It is off putting. Eadan, the son of the H and h, speaks like a proper adult, big words, perfect sentences, and perfectly articulated ideas. Hmmm...

Also, the plot went too fast. At 12%, too much happened already.

And the H faiting was cringe more than anything else. i dont know what the author tried to do there with that useless scene.

H's "gentian" eyes was painful to read. Wtf honestly. Why do authors love to use any word than "blue"? We were spared "orbs" at least.

Must read!

I loved this entire series!!! This book was no exception! I could not out it down, staying up all night to finish it. I adore Lucy Monroe's way to connect people with love, loyalty, protectiveness and passion! She manages to tie together peoples that were once enemy because of small mindedness.... As well as showing how all should be valued as equal despite their race, sex, belief, sexual orientation or nature! Well done

interesting

Found this book after trying to find something to read with a secret baby trope and enjoyed reading it. on another note It’sIt kind of reminds me of Shelly Laurenston‘s books in that previous characters in other books show up, but you don’t need to read the previous books to get invested in the story. But it would make it more fun if you read the series. Still consider a standalone

This is the sixth book in the Children of the Moon series, and definitely worth reading. I’ve wanted to read this series about shape shifters but haven’t had the opportunity until this book and I was not disappointed because I loved it. What I really like is that I did not have to read any of the prior books before reading this one. It was so mesmerizing that I had a really hard when I had to put it down because it I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. I will definitely be reading the previous books so that I can find out what happened before with the other characters lives.

Caelis sent away the only woman he would ever love in order to protect her. She is human, and he’s been told that shifters do not mate with humans, so it is not possible that she is his mate. He felt that there was nothing else that he could do. Time has passed and he still has no reason to doubt the words of his Alpha, so when he is told that Shona is dead he believes it. It’s been a few years and he’s learned many things about their Alpha, including that everything he’s been told about Shona was a lie. He has accepted that it might be too late to be with the woman he loves, but it is his duty to save his people. Until one day his life is drastically turned upside down within minutes. Is this his chance to make up for all the wrongs he’s done to Shona or has that mistake cost him the only woman he will ever love?

It has been six years since Shona was forced to leave the man she loved and she left with a secret, or so she thought. Her parents forced her into a loveless marriage to an English baron who was much older than her, but now she is finally free or so she thought… Her stepson has decided that he wants her to be his mistress, so in order to save herself and to protect her children she runs for her life and that of her children. She heads north, back to the only family she has left in Scotland, but while traveling she is stopped for trespassing on private lands. It is during this stop that she asked to accompany the men to the owner’s keep, and thus reunited with the one man who can really hurt her, but he may also be the only man who can protect her.

Caelis takes the responsibility to save his pack along with their families from the corruption of their laird very seriously. Now that Shona is back in his life he is determined not to lose her, even if that means that the only way to prove his love to her is to walk away from the pack. Will she let him walk away just to be with her or will she stand beside him and fight?

I won Warrior’s Moon through Goodreads first-reads in exchange for an honest review.

Last book of this wonderful ‘Children of the Moon’ series. !cry! So many story threads are left untied that it’s a shame but the author says the publisher lost interest, so we can only hope for something and dream in the meantime.

This one is about Caelis who used to be a MacLeod under Uven and hated all humans and E’on. Now he’s found out the truth and has joined the Sinclairs to fight against the Fearghall. All I can say about him is that he’s a clueless idiot.

Shona has escaped her deadly bro-in-law after her abusive elderly husband dies with her two young children and two best friends. They are on their way to the Balmoral Island where she has some distant family when they’re caught by a Sinclair patrol. But when she arrives she sees Caelis who ten years before had gotten her pregnant then rejected her. He’s the last person she want to see especially as he is the father of her young son. She just left the clutches of one dominating man and doesn’t want to get catch by another one.

I love the two kids. How they protect each other. They’re so cute (women into lemons) and wise, but I weep for their lost childhood.

We also have a side relationship between one of Shona’s friends: Audrey and Veger, an eagle shifter.

Footnote: 1) If the Faol sacred store was found in the previous book why do Caelis and Maon still talk like it’s missing? (Never mind it was explained later).

2) I hate that we won’t get more of these stories. We never got to find out about the Paindeal and their stone.

Fave scenes: Cailis fainting, Audrey meeting Vegar, Cailis & Vegar sparring, no pudding for supper and confronting Uven.

***Chrechte wolf shifter Caelis turned his back on his human lover Shona so that he could remain loyal to his pack. Six years later, he thinks she’s dead. He’s wrong...***

After being rejected by Caelis, Shona was forced to marry an English baron. Now she’s on the run from the deceased baron’s heir. Determined to protect her children, she heads north to Balmoral Island, to the only family she has left. As powerful and charismatic as ever, Caelis has been charged with saving his pack from the corrupt laird ruling them. This time, however, he refuses to abandon his sacred mate. He lost Shona once and swears he will never be separated from her again. Passion and love urge Shona to join him. I always love to go back and visit old friends. Lucy Monroe did that while giving us a whole new story to add to an already great series. When they were young Shona and Caelis were in love and believed they were sacred mates. The Chrechte, could not produce offspring unless they found the one. Shona gave herself to Caelis. They belonged to the clan Macleod. The clan leader would not approve their mating and told Caelis she was not his mate so he abandoned Shona. She left the town with her parents only to come back years later with his son. Shona life has been hard and she is running for her life and that of her childrens. She has no trust for the deceiver who left her pregnant and alone. She just wants to find family now she is a widow to settle and live in peace with some protection. During her journey she has to deal with Caelis again. Her first stop is the Sinclair's. I have to tell you from my favorite book of the series we get to see Talroc and Abigail and their sons,Lord Sinclairs second Nail his mate Guaire. Lord Lacland and Lady Emma of Balmoral. Lots of new characters. Marjory and Eadan, Shona's adorable children. Thomas and Audrey her companions and helpers. Caelis is on a mission to clear up the past and he wants to take Shona with him. Its a great story. I'm always delighted with this series. :)

Events are moving quickly in the world of the Crechtie.

Caelis is a Faol, a wolf member of the Chrechtie, Shona is a human, a member of the Clan McLeod. Six years earlier Shona and Caelis had been together, sacred mates, but they did not stay together. Caelis’s Laird convinced him Shona was not his true mate and ordered him to let her go. Shona then left the Clan, with her parents she went to England where she was made to marry a Baron. Now, six years later she is back, a widow with two children, her eldest five year old Eadan her son and three year old Marjory her daughter. Shona suffered greatly in England and after her husbands death was forced to flee from her step son——- the new Baron. The last person she expects to see when she arrives at the Sinclair keep is Caelis but here he is, and on seeing her again he is convinced they have been given a second chance, but Shona is not sure she can forgive him the hurts of the past. After all he was able to do what no Crechtie could and deny his sacred mate. This is as enjoyable as ever with the added attraction of having young Eadin and Marjory who are a joy.

Medieval Highland paranormal with sex. This is the 5th book in the series.

Tropes I dislike - 6 years go by before the H/h are reunited. Hate that! In the meantime, The heroine has to marry an old Baron (old enough to be her grandfather. She's pregnant by the hero, but he's repudiated her. He acts like a jerk & tells her it's someone else that she's slept with that got her pregnant. She also has a daughter by the old Baron.
What I like - The heroine is strong willed & not about to take any crap from the hero. He's seen the error of his ways, but the heroine makes him do lots of groveling before she'll take him back. That's a refreshing change.

This book is heavy on relationship drama & light on action. LM is such a good author that I think she pulls it off. There's characters from the other books that make an appearance.

Basically, I would recommend it as a continuation of the series. If you're new to the series, start at the beginning. This is not the best book in the series IMO.

The first chapter of this book gave me such hope for this story. I felt that initial heart race, my eye and my mind thirsty for a developing tale of Scottish Werewolves. Unfortunately, after that initial few chapters, it all fell apart. What came afterwards was a recycling garbage heap of nonsense and zero imagination. Over and over again it was a conversation of how the hero broke the heroine’s heart when he denied her pregnancy and turned his back on their mating bond. Over and over again, the story of the heroine’s marriage and treatment at the hands of her husband. I am not exaggerating. There was nothing else. There was no villain to fight; no depth to the characters romance, it was empty. Never in my life have I been angrier at a novel for disappointing me so.

Skip this book. It has nothing of value to offer its readers and honestly feels like it was written entirely over a weekend at longest.

Oh WOW!! How can I write a review that would described the actual deliciousness Warrior's Moon is!! I love second chances and this story is beautiful in that Caelis gets his second chance but Shona makes him work for every iota of it...she has been wronged, hurt, and suffered pain that should be placed where it deserves..at Caelis' feet! But Lucy Monroe's characters are so real that you feel their despair and then with her talented ability to write words you feel happiness, compassion, love and such a myriad of emotions that each character is a personal friend. I love Ms. Monroe's contemporary romances but I will never pass another paranormal with her name printed on it!! I can't wait to read the rest of her "Children of the Moon" series!!

This was a great addition to this series. I loved Caelis and I truly felt for him when he saw Shona and her children for the first time. Caelis thought he would never see Shona his true mate again and Shona never wanting to see Caelis again after his rejection of her. The secondary characters in the story were so charming you couldn't help but fall in love with them. Shona's children Eadan and Marjory were so well written and lovable I wanted to just hug them. Audrey, Thomas and Vegar just added so much to the overall story I can't wait o read more about all of them. If I have one compliant about this book it was I felt Shona was a bit whinny.

No me gusto Shona, demasiado quejica y poco comprensiva. Para ser una escocesa de las altas Highlands poco entiende a un guerrero y menos a uno de la clase de Calis.
