May Lanigan’s regular life is turned upside down when her husband is arrested for racketeering. Blissfully unaware up until now about how he made his living, she now encounters many obstacles in the way of keeping her own and her family’s heads above water. Enter Ambrose, there to provide stability and the odd nudge in the right direction.
Deirdre Purcell is such a good storyteller, that without really liking May or Ambrose or in fact any of the characters, or many of the things they did or the decisions they made, I became heavily invested in it. Biased as I am against Ambrose for being poles apart from my all- time favourite John Travolta’s Michael, I still have to accept he made a difference to both May and within the story.

I could have accepted it, even liked it a bit, if it wasn’t so weird. An angel in the middle of a plot like this simply isn’t the way to go. Either you write a fantasy book or not. You can’t have something in between.

Quite a weird bok, I really wasn't sure whether to bother finishing it, but persevered. There wasn't anything to really dislike about it, it was all just a little odd. Even the angel in it was odd, that's if you believe in angels. There wasn't too much to the story and I really didn't care abouit any of the characters, not a book I shall be keeping!
