What a hilarious read. The text is culled from archival newspaper articles from throughout Milwaukee's history. Topics range from typewriters to celery to mail routes to architecture, with about a million irreverent things in between.
The art is equally hilarious. It illustrates most of the stories. It is very reminiscent of the collages that sprinkle Donald Barthelme's work.
If you happen to come across this book, pick it up without hesitation. It should be a required component of any Milwaukee citizen's library.
