Being a genuine disciple of Christ flows out of a relationship with Him. It's about experiencing God's grace, not earning His love through performance. A real relationship with Jesus Christ will produce a follower whose life looks progressively more like His life. Romans 12 provides a relational profile of an authentic someone who is surrendered to God, separate from the world's values, sober in self-assessment, serving in love and supernaturally responds to evil with good. Christians who live out this kind of lifestyle are what we call r12 Christians. God is willing to go deeper and grow you into a real disciple... are you ready? ACSI approved.

I like how this guy reconsiders what he learned to be "anti-spiritual" rules demanded by God. For example, what surrendering to God's Will really means etc.... It's a good book for thinking twice about Christianity. I have a friend studying Theology and this is the main reason I'm reading this, well this and exploration of my beliefs vs. what I raised to believe. I just hope I can get into it a little more, it's hard with Christmas.
I really enjoyed the insights of Chip Ingram. He taught me a lot, and showed me that while I'm on the right path to becoming like Jesus, there are some things I do need to work on. I look forward to reading his other books.
