F. B. Meyer is one of my favorite Christian writers. He left us so many good things that have helped our faith.

His book on Moses is just that, a book on the life of Moses from his birth to his death. There are incredible events surrounding him that are touched but this is primarily his book. It is a book that speaks to his faith, his weakness, his anger, his meekness, his leadership & mostly about His God.

This is not so much a technical book as it is devotional in nature. I read it rather quickly for a class, but look forward to going through another time more leisurely. It is homiletical in nature also. More than once I said that I need to come back for this & this is worthy of repeating.

The insights into Moses' personality are wonderfully revealed by F. B. Meyer. I felt that I understood Moses as a man, who truly thought of himself as God's humble servant. I did not rate this with five stars, however, because of the author's style of writing, which is quite flowery at times. However, I did read an edition which was published sometime around 1900. I do not know if more recent publications have "updated" the language.

The Christian biographies of F. B. Meyers never seem to disappoint. Again, I truly enjoyed Meyers' study, this time of the life of Moses, putting before me his thoughts on God's Word in an amazing way. This study was truly exciting to follow.

Moses the Servant of God

A wonderful commentary on the life of Moses who stands as a colossus on the peaks of man’s achievements. The Law Giver whom God used to light the way through this dark world until
the coming of His Son Jesus Christ Who Himself fulfilled the Law and Who is the light of the World.

This book was a hard read because of the language it was written (it's original copyright is 1909). This is the main reason I gave it three stars. I am glad I challenged myself with the book and there were a lot of great points found throughout Moses's story, but I don't think it'll be a book that gets stuck in my head.

Liked this book a great deal. Well written and researched. The only reason it isn't 5 star is that the author takes liberty and fictionalized the emotions and responses of the people in the story. For the most part it is written on factual information

Meyer has written a series of 'biographical' books on various men of Scripture, and I find them all enormously inspirational. This particular book that looks at the life of Moses hits a high that's quite amazing. If you've never read F B Meyer before, you're truly missing out!

The book contains some good material. However, to get to it you must wade through excessive verbiage and metaphor, which make the book someone difficult to read.
