For anyone who is interested in this topic this is a good book. He also talks about the owners and the times these stallions were racing standing.

Tremendous amounts of research, with lots here to learn and enjoy. So many racehorses from my childhood to remember. The writing in spots could be more clear, but learning about Potoooooooo at the very end was the crowning bit of fun.
