About the author

Heather Rainier

45 books529 followers
Heather Rainier lives and writes in South Central Texas. Her stories offer up the content of her fantasies, with humor, tragedy, and triumph mixed in.

Heather's love of romance fiction began as a teenager when her mom gave her copies of Kathleen Woodiwiss's "The Flame and the Flower" and Bertrice Small's "Skye O'Malley". To this day she's pretty sure that was her mom's version of the "birds and the bees" talk.

Heather writes the type of novel she loves to read: More erotic and edgy than the mainstream, with plenty of sweet romance mixed in and a happily ever after guaranteed. Heather's favorite type of hero is the gentle, lovable giant but readers will discover a wide variety of heroes and alphas on the pages of her novels.

When not at her keyboard, Heather is usually busy corralling her teenagers, or loving on her smokin' hot husband, who thankfully loves to cook.

Heather invites readers to e-mail her at heather.rainier@yahoo.com and also to visit her website at www.heatherrainier.com

Who doesn’t like fireworks on the Fourth of July?

Ms. Rainier aptly named her newest addition to the Divine Creek Series. The sparks fly not only in the sky but on the pages of this fun novel.

The book starts off with the series matriarch, Grace Warner and her equally sassy sister Charity, as they try to strong arm their cousin Jayne into joining the Independence Day activities. She is blissfully unaware of her cousins' match making scheme, and decides to join in on the fun. While working, she bumps into, literally, the other victim in Cupid’s game, Seth. Sparks fly (see what I did there?) when these two collide and without any extra help.

The rest of the book touches base with all of the couples from the series. The author did a really great job of staying true to each couple or group as I saw where they are in their relationship after the foundations of each relationship that readers were originally introduced to have grown since their respective tales. I saw how married life is faring for most, the balance and compromise of having multiple partners, a big announcement for some, dealing with emotional issues for others, but two things stood true for everyone. One was the love that was expressed: overwhelming and sweet, yet perfect. At times I worried that the love was going to ooze off the page and smother me, but Ms. Rainier has a wonderful ability of keep balance on the page. Which brings me to number two, sex. Lots and lots of wonderful, naughty, emotional, bonding, dirty sex. My personal favorite, and I am sure other fans as well, was the scene with Charity and her husband Justin. Two words: Viking marauder.

Again, the author did an excellent job of teasing us with the next pairing for the series and whetting our insatiable appetites for more of our favorites

I am one of those readers that always makes sure to read the dedication and acknowledgments in books. Some are so heartfelt and beautiful and others are funny or even sad. I especially love the dedication in Sparks Fly from Heather to her husband--so good!! I think this set the tone of the book for me.

The Divine Creek Ranch series is one of my favorites. I have reread these books so many times and still continue to do so. Sparks Fly is another great addition. The length is shorter then the rest of the books but it's not short on romance, love, laughter, friendship and most of all SMOKING HOT SEX!!! Everything that I have come to expect and look forward to when reading books by Heather Rainier.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sparks Fly. Not only was it a great way to introduce the characters for the next book (Seth and Jayne) but every couple, from each book in the series, got their own separate little scenes. I loved that!! The scenes with Richard, Boone, Kendall and Maya; Ash and Juliana and of course Jack, Adam, Ethan and Grace were just some of my favorites. Heather also introduced some new characters that I hope will be getting their own books soon.

I have been a HUGE fan of Heather Rainier since reading Divine Grace. The way she writes her characters involved in a menage relationship, making it more than just about the sex (although that is definitely HOT) but about the love that surrounds them and their intense loyalty to one another as well as the trusting, caring, protective, intimate way they treat each other, always pulls me right into the story. I think she is one of the best writers in this genre.

Just a really great book that entertained me from the start and makes me want to go back and reread the series from the beginning and also has me anxiously awaiting Seth and Jayne's full story in their own book. 5 out of 5 rating.

I haven't read all of the books in the series, maybe just one or two. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone if they haven't read all the previous books as I was a little confused as to who was with whom, etc. But basically this was just to show how all the couples are together. Of course it shows each couple having sex around the July 4th holiday, so if you want a sexy book that will catch you up on all your beloved characters with a bunch of sex thrown in, then this is the book for you. I won't deny that the sex was HOT, but I probably would have enjoyed it more if I read all the books.

I did want to read this one since it was the prelude to book 12 His Tattooed Virgin Divine Creek Ranch 12 which sounded really interesting.

Sparks Fly! A Divine Creek July 4th Family Reunion revisists the couples and polyamorous mates from the previous books as they all gather together to celebrate the 4th of July holiday at a parade in town and a cookout at the Warners' ranch (Grace, Jack, Ethan, and Adam). It is comprised mostly of sexy vignettes strung together around a very light plot involving the sweet pairing of Jayne (the town librarian) and Seth (the tattoo artist of Divine Ink). I know that many fans of the Divine Creek Ranch series would enjoy this book, but I found myself skimming through the sex scenes because there wasn't enough plot to keep me engaged. If you are a fan of this series, you may enjoy...

What a wonderful addition to the Divine Creek collection! I loved this smexy book and getting a chance to catch up with all of my favorite characters. Ms. Rainier has done an awesome job of breathing life into each of her couples lives.I loved getting to know Seth and Jane and I can't wait to read their story.
And as for all of those sexy scenes... wow.. this book is best read with a glass of ice water and your Hubby or partner near by.

I really like these characters but this book was a little too jam packed with characters. It made my head spin with how quickly it jumped from Jayne Grace's cousin to Seth the tattoo artist to Grace to all the other characters from the last ten books. Don't get me wrong I liked the book but I felt like I needed the character list from the beginning of the book right next to me to keep track of the characters.

I absolutely LOVED this book. It was a great pleasure to get to go back and visit with all the familiar couple of Divine Texas and catch up with them. My favorite scene when I first read the book was between Eli and Rachel but in re-reading it, yes, I have re-read it, the scene between Justin and Charity stands out. Ms. Heather once again scores a "10" from me!!!

Yeah I always like catching up with previous characters but I really wanted there to be more story line and less sex. I know these couples/ménage have hot sex....I wanted to know other stuff. What had been happening in their lives, more on Rachel battling post partem depression and having Jayne and Seth get together.

Still an enjoyable read...

I really liked the story of how Seth met Jayne. And although I really liked catching up with some of the couples from books past, I didn't like how it was just one sex scene after another, with only a pithy catch up in between. Read a little like a porn movie where you're only in it for the sex.

Having said that, I couldn't WAIT to read Jayne and Seth's story after finishing this one.

I especially enjoyed this book. Getting a glimpse into the lives of the past characters in the series is a rare treat from an author and wished more would do this. I always want to know what happens after they get their HEA and this book gives you a taste of that. Can't wait for the rest of the series ;-)

This little short was fun because along with the introduction of a potential new couple, Jayne and Seth, all of the previous couples were featured. I loved that everyone got together for the holiday and were feeling frisky, although Grace and her men seemed to have the best adventure. Just as much fun was watching Seth and Jayne start something. I look forward to reading more about them.

What a wonderful update on all the characters that I know and love. How life and their relationships grow with love. How the group grows together as family and friends. And how the spars never cease within the town of Devine. Also a great introduction to some new characters. Books to look forward to from here. Thank you Heather!

I love a story of Divine. What a great town. The characters are deep and thoughtful. The story has suspense, romance, sexy lovin', and a well written tale. We always learn something new in a Divine Creek story. Plenty of previous characters are in this reunion, and we get a glimpse of new beginnings. Heartwarming, true feelings, and romance in Divine. ENJOY !!

This book in the series is more a celebration of all the characters of Divine from previous books in the series. It also introduces you to Seth and Jayne which show up in His Tattooed Virgin. It was the perfect book to be able to catch up and see what the folks of Divine have been up to.

This book is suppose to be about Seth and Jayne but it was mostly about all naughty sex between the couples already together in series. Don't get me wrong, very sexy and kinky but would have liked more story about Seth and Jayne.

While it was nice revisiting all these relationships and their strangely increasingly similar kinks, it was the story of Seth and Jayne's budding relationship that made it enjoyable. Thoroughly looking forward to the next book and the answers to all the questions raised in this one.

I enjoyed keeping up with each couple in the book. I love how she started introducing new characters that then become the focus in future books. She seems to do it so naturally. And I love how her characters are human and flawed. And of course I love HEA endings.

A nice visit with all the couples, triples, quadruples from the previous books including sex with all of them. However, NO STORY! This is my last Divine Creek book. I love the sex scenes, but for gosh sakes, Heather, give us a story to go along with them.
