A lushly rendered supernatural fantasy that follows two girls and their mother who find themselves in the middle of a vast, supernatural exodus. On their journey Cloudia is bestowed the powers of hundreds of different gods, but even those don't help her come to terms with the death of her father.
I didn't really know what to expect with this series, but I'm a sucker for mythology so I gave it a try. It's not bad, but it's not amazing either. I like the concept of including various religious pantheons and mythologies as part of the world, of some of them fleeing to the mortal realm and needing the help of a normal girl, but the writing isn't as effective as I'd hoped. Cloudia is kind of a brat and I'm hoping she changes over the course of the series.
As for the art, I really like the use of colour. The lines are a tad on the messy side but I wouldn't call it ugly. Just different.
Different is the key word here. I'm interested enough to see what happens next, and hopefully it improves. If not, it'll be a waste of good potential.
The concept was great, but it felt poorly executed. Cloudia was not a likable character, which might be intentional, and there was nothing that caught my interest enough to make me want to pick up the second issue.
