I'll say this, I do not like harlequin's INTIMATE MOMENTS books, as they aren't my taste. But ladies, WOW...wow...wow...I didn't expect it to be soooo good. I love the story, the plot and the drama. This was my first book into the world of the mob life and it was just as exciting the first time reading it in 2006. The mob scene, the love scenes, the chemistry and the family made this book what it is and with all those components given by the author, it definitely would be up there in mob romances for me.
Rhea was an abused wife, until she met Joey. Unbeknownst to Rhea, she shares a night with Joey not knowing who he is or his family connection. After that one night she fleas. Now years later and with Joey in power, he is out for blood once he learns what Rhea took from him and his enemy could be after. Once he gets Rhea where he wants her and holds her against her will as she has no choice, then here comes the drama and blood shed.
THIS is a recommend read. I have read the follow up book but have never read book 1. One of the best scenes for me: Joey and Rhea's steamy sexcapades in the elevator, wow, I loved reading it in 2006 and still do in 2012.

This installment in the Brotherhood series continues in the tradition of entertaining the reader enough you want to read the next, but it can still stand as a single title if you can't obtain the rest .
Rosnau diplomatically shows the different sides of the male lead with what is really a cliche role , yet he is written as anything but . She manages to humanize a seedy world and use it for a "good" way . I also enjoyed the other characters .
Overall , I like Rosnau . She has never disappointed me and I have always bee entertained . Her raunch factor does alternate a bit though .
Quick read about the mafia family but it made the main characters seem like they cared about some people. Nice that Joey still felt for Rhea even with all her scars when he could have any female.
