A young woman is dead. Her supposed killer is in custody. And Private Investigator Lexi Graves is on the warpath.

Lexi Graves finally feels like she’s got her life on track. She’s got a job that is made to measure and the perfect boyfriend but all it takes is a few shocking minutes for everything to start falling apart.

Hurt and upset, Lexi takes off on an undercover job on a nearby military base. Charged with finding evidence that the man indicted with the murder of a young civilian employee isn’t the real killer, Lexi just wants to lose herself in the case, put the past behind her, and heal her broken heart.

But when Maddox keeps popping up during her investigation, and her boss, the mysterious Solomon, is the perfect tonic for heartache, Lexi finds it hard to keep her mind on the job.

As clues start to point towards the victim’s dangerous double life and secrets mount, time is running out. And when Maddox’s betrayal might not be quite what it seems, it’s up to Lexi to speak some home truths and put a murderer behind bars.

I'm going to start with the positives before going on about the rest. I love murder mystery with some fun characters in them. That's the positive. So here's the thing that I find hard to believe and this is why this book is horrible! Sorry, not sure what everyone on Goodreads is raving about because I feel like I'm in the twilight zone ...and not sure if I'm reading the same book as them? Now lets get the storyline straight, Lexi Graves is dating this "Handsome" cop who by the way has never given her a reason to suspect he would ever cheat on her. She even knows he goes under cover for work. So her boss so happens to send her out to check on one of his cases and she sees her boyfriend with another lady and automatically assumes the worst of him. She then refuses to take his calls, and just calls it off? Hello PLEASE get real. What woman does that? I'll tell you which one, NONE OF THEM! I need this to be somewhat real for me to be able to buy the murder-mystery part.

Oh and wait it gets better... she goes with her "HOT boss" on an undercover mission and not even a week in she's doing the deed with her boss! Her hot boss is a straight nut, he set her up to make Adam look bad so that he could take advantage of her. Manipulation. You have to give it to the guy he knows what he needs to do to win. Sorry, I love Adam Maddox, he's the only "true" character in this series. All the others have motives, Lexi being the biggest offender.

I love how Serena is turning around with Tony. And how Lexi is so not liking it. Well, she is happier about it than the other, but she just doesn't see it. But she sees that Tony is making her sister happy and she sees that Tony loves Victoria and that is all that matters to her. She is hurt by Maddox and that causes all kinds of choices she may regret, but I am not sure we will see that. Gotta love Lexi's nephew Sam and talking about him being able to swim, compared to Jord and his "swimmers". BAWAHAHA!!! Lexi is always in the middle of everything and getting in trouble for it. But she is good, just never prepared. I just want to know who the heck is at her door. I think I know, but I want the book to hurry up and come out. Please let me know when it is out.

5 Stars! Totally Team Solomon from the very beginning, so this was a great book for me. The case was very interesting and there was a good danger factor. I loved dinner with Lexi's family and Solomon's reveal about his past. He's definitely where it's at;)

It's really more like 3.5 for me, I'm torn. I'm enjoying this series and like the characters, and this book's mystery was really good. However, I'm not a fan of love triangles, so Lexi's issues/indecisions with Maddox & Soloman were a little annoying. It was nice finding out more about Soloman, but I felt like Lexi jumped to conclusions too fast with Maddox. Otherwise, it's a good book and I still want to continue with the series!

Hi
While I agree that lexi wanted to be with Solomon,I thought it was sad that he manipulated her into cheating on Maddox to do it.
He helped turn her character into a tramp,I liked and respected her until then.
The whole breakup thing was horribly written.
It was ok for lexi to cheat, but when she thinks Maddox is he was a sleaze.
A double standard that only makes lexi look that much worse and then since lexi didn't get hurt in is forgotten.
The one thing that I disagree about is that I think that lexi showed that she didn't care about Maddox at all because of how badly she treated him.
If you care about someone you show some respect and loyalty and she did none of this, she just dropped him without a second thought because she couldn't wait to get in bed with Solomon.
She could have just broken up with Maddox, she treated him like her former bf treated her.
Lexi needs a friend who is honest with her and doesn't just tell her what she wants to hear.

Errors were rampant in this book

Why are there so many errors in this authors’ books??? Fix the problems!!! You loose all credibility as an author/writer with mistakes in your books.😩😩😩

I read all 3 books...the first one hooked me. Anytime there is mystery, hunks, and laughter it's a good book. I can hardly wait till the next one comes out...thanks for a great and fun series.

I really enjoyed this book. My only annoyance is the author's continued use of non-American words (I know, she's British) in a book set in the southern U.S. Those are other questionable word choices or odd phrasings repeatedly pop me out of the story. Then I ponder for a while what she actually meant. For example,"grafters" or "grafting." Since the people in question had nothing to do with horticulture, I have no idea what she meant. Whatever it was, that word is simply not used like that in American English.
I also had some concerns about Lexi's choices and actions in her personal life, but I'll see what comes of it. These things are the primary reasons it didn't get 5 stars from me. I did enjoy it overall.

Laughed Cried and Got Mad at Men

I love this series. I listened and read along when I could to this story that had me again laughing at the crazy dialog that ran in Lexi Graves Head. I like that she isn’t afraid to go for things, I am not happy that that her motives are stemmed from her need to prove herself to the men in her company. Be a previous women in a mans world I know it can make a woman push herself too hard, but in this fictional characters role it has put her in pardon the pun Grave danger.

Love the series going to wait until tomorrow to start the next in the series.

C. Chafer/command indecision

Loved the characters of lexie, solomon, maddox, lily, her brothers, and rest of her family. This story involved Lexus seeing maddox with another woman after not contacting her because he was undercover and she had not heard from him in awhile, she spotted them while doing undercover work for her boss solomon. She felt betrayed but end up going on another undercover work with her boss this time, sparks fly while trying to prove a soldier innocent of killing someone. Need to read the series in order to understand the dynamic of lexie, solomon, and maddox.

I have enjoyed this series so far because Lexi isn't usually the bumbling idiot like you see in similar series. That's why this book bothered me so much. Coming from a family of cops, Lexi should not have just assumed Maddox was cheating when she saw him that night. The thought should have at least popped into her head that it was part of his cover. I feel like she was looking for justification to hook up with Solomon. That the author wanted her to go there, and needed to give her that justification. But it just wasn't believable to me.

Another great addition to the series. This time Lexi is undercover with Solomon in an Army base looking for the killer of a young woman who worked in the office. Yes poor Lexi is faux temping again. Lexi makes a few poor romance choices which spoilt it a bit for me, but otherwise it was a good book with an exciting end. I am enjoying this series, it is written with a good undercurrent of humour without being silly or annoying.

Third in the series and still loving them

I found the humor in this book hilarious and i love to be able to laugh, cry, be mad and exasperated all in one novel and i found it in this one. I think i know who Lexi called at the end of this book, however i could be wrong. I'm looking forward to the next chapter in Lexi's PI life and her love life. Will it be Maddox or Solomon? I guess i will find out soon.

I liked the book, the Stephanie Plum vibes are strong is this one.

Lexi is torn between 2 men and she is going undercover with one of them. What can go wrong - a lot.
We will see how her love life will turn out (if I would hedge a bet - the love triangle will go on for quite a while). The mystery - while interesting and with an unexpected ending - seems to take second place with regard to Lexi´s love life.

Ends on cheap shot cliff hanber

The worst cliff hanger I have come across. What a cheap shot this author pulled. In order to know what happened you have to buy the other book. I think that is a low class move. Especially when the author is charging money for the next book. Also the writing is not that good. I think I will pass

Lexi really bothered me in this book as she has no qualms cheating on her boyfriend in her mind thinking about her boss and has kissed him multiple times, almost slept with him in book two; but she sees Maddox working undercover and doesn’t even have a chance to talk it out with him? Instead instantly breaks up with him and then sleeps with Solomon. What a hypocrite.

enjoyed the read except for how fast Lexie jumped ship on Maddox, Her boss has slim bag tendencies, and it showed in the story line. good mystery, action, twist and turns. Do enjoy the family drama fitting right in with the story line.
