Latrice Richardson is a divorced, single mother who never does anything reckless. After meeting a handsome stranger, Nathan, she has a one-night stand. A week later, she finds out Nathan is her son's new teacher!

When she isn't writing, she's busy trying to create shelf space for other Black authors. She lives in Los Angeles with her two boys, Michael and Alexander, fur baby Maya aka Pie.
This one started off strong, but faced some pacing issues towards the end. I still thought it was a solid read and I'm looking forward to picking up the next book in the series. 3.5 stars.
Hot for Teacher is the first book in the Richardson Sibling Trilogy and follows main characters Latrice and Nathan. Latrice and Nathan unexpectedly meet when Latrice's sister attempts to convince her to have a one night stand. The two have undeniable chemistry; however, they hit a minor road block when Latrice learns that Nathan will be the new teacher at her son's school. Not wanting to cause disruption to her son's life or jeopardize Nathan's job, the two conceal their relationship.
What Worked:There was an unexpected humor to this story. While it was obvious that Nathan's job was going to cause issues for the couple, I wasn't expecting it contain so many laugh out loud moments. Nathan and Latrice also shared a fun and sexy chemistry that sparked during their initial meeting. Fisher did a great job developing the side characters and really sets the stage for future installments in the series.
What Didn't Work: Pacing was a huge issue in this book and it doesn't have anything to do with the length of the novel. For some reason, it felt as though there was a gap in the relationship between Nathan and Latrice. It was building at a steady pace and then all of sudden they were in love. It happened so quickly that it left me questioning whether I accidently skipped over sections of the book. Due to this change in pacing, the rest of the novel slowed significantly and I lost the stamina I had when I first began the book. This is one of those rare moments where I think that this book could have benefited from being longer. Had Fisher dedicated a little more time to developing their relationship, I think that the intensity that was presented in the beginning of the book would have been maintained up until the end.
Overall, this was a solid read. Pacing issues aside, I enjoyed Latrice and Nathan as characters and I'm looking forward to reading more about the romances that happen for Latrice's siblings.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I really enjoyed this book. It started off so good then towards the end was boring. Even though, I liked the book the chemistry between them at first was there. The book was corny and cute and it didn’t make me cringe much which is a good thing.
I loved everything about this book the characters are relatable and the storyline flowed nicely. Latrice & Nathan were perfect for each other from the very beginning! I’m looking forward to reading more about the Richardson siblings.
3.5-4 ✨Hot For Teacher is a book about a divorcee letting her hair down and enjoying a one-night stand. However, she later learns the man who awakened her inner beast is her son's new teacher. A teacher-parent relationship is not ideal per se; I think the author did a good job detailing why it works for this couple. In this book, there’s an age gap, as she is older than him. There is a difference in financial status, as she owns her own company, and he is finally getting a full-time job. Also, the male character has an upbringing where he spent time in foster homes and was eventually adopted. The characters were very compatible, regardless of their differences and I think the author did a good job highlighting their chemistry. The sub-characters were overwhelming, but I felt they brought depth to the story and kept it flowing. Latrice and Nathan both needed each other, and it was sweet to see them overcome the odds. Their final date and proposal was my favorite part.
This was a cute and pretty short Black romance. The fmc is the older single mother and the mmc is the teacher of the fmc's son. The fmc is navigating a relationship with her ex who is not a good person and a good parent while trying to also navigate the chemistry and attraction she feels toward her sons teacher. This book is steamy and gets straight to the point, there isn't much relationship conflict and its an easy read.
I started this book and did a big sigh at it being in 3rd person but decided to continue anyway. As you can see, I did not get that far 💀. The sentences were so short and choppy and the 3rd person was honestly making it worse lol, it felt like I was reading a list and it became unbearable
I really enjoyed this story. Latrice and Nathan were a great couple. Miscommunication almost popped up, but Ms. Fisher shot it down which I appreciated. I will definitely be reading the next installment.
As soon as I laid eyes on this cover I had to read this and I'm so glad I did!
The Good I loved Nathan and Latrice together and their chemistry was amazing. I liked how the issue of their 'forbidden love' was handled and it was done realistically. I loved how much of a bad bitch Latirce was and how successful she was and how much of a great mother she was. I loved how much Nathan was willing to give up to be with her and how sure he was of their connection. This book .was the perfect length for the main romance story it was telling
The Bad I wish the storyline between Nathan and his brother was resolved better. So much was put on Nathan to repair the relationship and be the bigger person than an effort from his brother to change and the change occurred so fast. His brother bullied and belittled him for YEARS and then it's fixed in one conversation that felt like a lot of excuses? I hate messaging that is like "Well that's your family so you have to forgive them" when it should be "They are my family, and they shouldn't treat me that way." especially when the Mom didn't deem it her place to resolve this when they were younger and before it got to this terrible place. I just feel as though this storyline needed to be dealt with better.

Horn Level: 4/5🌶️ Format: Ebook
The Rating I give this book a 5/5🌟 rating. I loved this romcom and will be checking out any other books Fisher releases!
-3.5- Too Insta-love for me, I love forbidden love but I want that tension and the pining and I never got that. I did like the characters just the plot wasn’t for me.
One of my favorite teacher romance novels. This book is just so well written that it tethers on the edge of cheesy or cliche but doesn’t cross it. I love that the FMC was financially stable post divorce and was emotionally stable enough to not go back to her ex. Also, I love the Richardson family dynamics.
This book is Insta LOVE. You will not enjoy this if you don’t like instalove (🙋🏽♀️) it was just too much. This is a pretty short book, I saw others take note of the pacing and that’s exactly it. It was too quick. I’m usually fine with Insta LUST as long as the plot following the hook up makes SENSE. And the smut in this book was outstanding, however the plot lacked for me a little because WHYYY is the main conflict them being scared the MMC is gonna get fired for hooking up with his students parent when i’ve never heard of any laws against that!? like Huh!? I was so confused. they’re two grown adults.
I loved that the woman was independent but the way she talked about the MMC like she pitied him for being a teacher and also the language in the book basically insinuated he was broke!? HELL NO. who wants a broke man😭 First of all he should be applauded for having to deal with people’s crazy kids and SECONDLY teachers don’t get paid a lot, no, but you don’t have to make it glaringly obvious. Idk why that rubbed me the wrong way i’m not even a teacher 😭
So… in other words… this is gonna be a no for me!😭 Love the cover though 😔
For starters I want to say, edibles are NOT a substitution for anxiety medication. There were many moments in this book where someone made suggestions to try edibles for anxiety, one time even in a school, and I felt like I was going crazy. Since when are we using edibles to treat anxiety?
Moving on.. This was a quick, cute read. I liked Latrice and Nathan together, even with their pay and age gap. Although their characterizations were surface level, I could tell how much they cared about each other when Nathan was willing to quit his job to be with Latrice. I also enjoyed that there was no struggle love in this and that the biggest problem they had in their relationship was breaking the "no fraternization" rule Nathan's school had. The book comes full circle, with Nathan proposing to Latrice at the end of the book in the restaurant where they both met. A very cute HEA indeed. I also enjoyed getting to meet Latrice's siblings since the other books in the series will be their stories. Her brother Thad and sister Nadia definitely had issues running their mouths about Latrice's business, but the fact that we got to see a successful black family was really cool. Thad owned a chain of barbershops, and Nadia was a lawyer with her own firm. Continuing with the theme of black excellence, I loved how the author emphasized how having an educator who looks like you makes an impact on the students. Quincy really liked having Nathan as a teacher because he was a black man he could look up to.
There were moments in this book where Nathan's age kind of showed, and I had to side-eye him a bit. When he finally sees Latrice's house, he refers to her as his "suga momma" since her house was $2 million dollars. There's another scene when she asks him to send a pick of what he was wearing and he sent a dick pic. Another time, he says he's going to marry her and put a baby in her, and then doesn't even get down on one knee when he proposed. However, like I said, Nathan's love for Latrice was clear and so even though some of the things he did were a little ya know, I had to calm my ass down and realize Latrice wasn't complaining, he loved her and her son, and he wanted to start a life with her so really what was the issue?
The biggest issue I had with this book was probably the sex scenes, and I'm only complaining because the forward promises spicy sex scenes and I was thinking...is the spice in the room with us? The sex scenes were basic and extremely rushed and I was disappointed simply because we were promised spice and spice we did not get. (in my opinion).
Hot For Teacher (Richardson Sibling Trilogy Book 1) by Monique Fisher
Drink: The Teacher’s Pet
Music: If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys
Latrice Richardson: If, “closed off,” was a person it would be Latrice. She had been cut to deeply that she wasn’t looking to let it happen again.
Nathan Woodson: If, “shy,” was a person it would be Nathan. Parts of his childhood play a huge part in creating this sexy quiet man.
This was our first read by Monique Fisher and she did not disappoint. We were interested from the cover alone, but from the first page Fisher pulled us in and had us loving the characters. Latrice, a thirty-eight-year-old divorcee, has such a beautiful and big heart. During times in the book, we were so impressed with how often she showed grace and understanding to people who didn’t always deserve it. She was a great mom, friend, and sister. And then we had Nathan, a former foster kid, who in many ways is still trying to find his place and his voice. He had a passion for teaching and goals he wanted to accomplish, but his circle was so very small. These two together share a magical one-night stand only to have outside forces force them together. We loved the rom-com feels to this story. It was funny, sweet, and heartfelt. Latrice and Nathan prove no matter what obstacles are thrown your way if you’re willing to fight for it, true love will always win in the end. Fisher also did a great job in highlighting the importance of having black teachers and people of color in other positions who look like you and how those shapes young minds. Not to mention all the beautiful family moments that pop up throughout the book. This one is a must read for sure.

🍎Adult Fiction ✏️Contemporary Romance 🍎Son's Teacher ✏️One-Night Stand 🍎Open Door
'Hot for Teacher' is a short and spicy contemporary romance. The characters are blunt people who aren’t looking for attachment but end up finding love anyway.
Latrice and Nathan are opposites. She's confident and knows what she wants. Whereas he's a former foster child who struggles with social awkwardness. They encourage each other to fix the problems they’re struggling with, and that’s why the make a good match.
This book has some pacing issues, and the dialogue is stiff. It takes away from the character's chemistry and the development of the romance.
Overall, this was lighthearted and easy to get through.
I will start off by saying this book was very entertaining and I would recommend for a light, quick read. Both of the characters were interesting and had good chemistry, and I had a fun time reading about them- evident by the fact I read it in one night.
I really liked how there wasn’t pages and pages of detail at any point, sometimes romance books spend AGES describing how tall and fit the guy is but this didn’t too that too much. Was just like okay he’s attractive, but didn’t go on and on about it which I liked. The spice was also pretty good, but not really detailed, so if you try to avoid romance books with spice this would still be suitable!
However, I would only give it around three stars. It was far too insta-lovey for me. I can do insta-lust, but I’m not a fan of insta-love. They just kinda (slight spoiler) said i love you out of nowhere one page and acted like it wasn’t a big deal, when I was really anticipating Latrice to be uncomfortable with it given her stance on relationships?? I just couldn’t vibe with the relationship too much because I was never that invested because of how quick it seemed to happen. This book could have defo been longer.
Cute quick read. Loved that this story did not drag on unnecessarily.
Latrice and Nathan will be a great healthy example for Latrice’s son Quincy. So sad about what happened to his twin sisters mother tho, ugh. Wishing those babies a happy ending and integration to Nathan & Latrice’s life as extended family.

2.5⭐️ the pacing was really off, the dialogue was way too formal, and the 8 year olds were talking like grown adults while the adults were acting like children
4 ⭐️ 🌶️🌶️/5. This was a cute romcom about a one night stand that turns into more. I loved Nathan’s back story and how “Lala” helped him come out of his shell. They both played a role in helping the other figure themselves out and that’s what made the story even sweeter. Can’t wait to read book #2
