Laura writes about spies, murder, and mystery. She’s the author of the exciting Circle of Spies Series, the Prom Impossible Series, and the Heist time travel mystery series. She’s a former elementary teacher and currently lives in New England. After spending time reading books to her kids and loving a good plot turn, she put her fingers to the keyboard. Don’t ask her about the unfinished quilts and scrapbooks. Stories are way more exciting.

She writes to entertain and experience a great story…and to be able to work in her jammies and slippers.

The Holly Hart Cozy Mystery Series releases starting in May 2015!

I don't love it. and I know that this is just the prequel book, or whatever its called, but it wasn't very interesting. I'm probably not going to read the actual first book. the only reason I downloaded this book was because it was short, free, and the guy on the cover is awesome looking. atleast on the amazon cover he was.

I got the book because it was actually free from Amazon and the guy on the cover was.... hmmm...yummy is the word but that was it. It did not have the same pull as the Gallagher or Heist series.

I'm not sure if I like Malcolm as much as I adore Hale. I think Hale has more charm...

German Amazon page doesn't list this book so I had to buy the 'In His Eyes Anthology' to read this prequel. All the other titles are paranormal romances or excerpts from those (I hate paranormal stuff end even more excerpts) so I decided to review and rate the only book I'm interested in separately (the rating for the anthology would be 1* in best case - that would be not fair for this book)

So here we go: I really loved the way the author describes Malcolm's and Savvy's feelings and insecurities and Malcolm's motivation for his actions as well as his lack of knowledge of the whole picture (key factor in the end).
The action is pretty slow but I have the feeling it will change in the next book.

The fact the prequel is so short, ends with a really huge cliffhanger and feels for me unfinished made it four instead of five stars. Sometime down the road when I'm in the right mood or if there is a nice deal for the books I'm going to read the other books too.

The books are perfect for teens interested in espionage and adventure and don't mind emotions.
