The Love Of Money Is The Root Of Evil

I haven't read a calibration in a full length novel before, so I don't have much to compare this to. There were definitely two different writing styles and they complimented each other. The most noticeable was the third/first person flip flop chapters. While this usually works my nerves I have to admit this worked in this novel.

What happens when a middle class married couple both lose their jobs? Chris and Angelique Hines is that couple who once wanted for nothing. Having both been unable to secure good paying jobs and Angelique unwilling to give up lavish her lifestyle unbeknownst to husband, starts to strip for a living. This is the beginning of the lies and deceit.  Chris unable to feel like the man with his wife paying the bills, embarks on a career he can’t tell his wife about. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. When this couple starts chasing the almighty dollar to save their lifestyle all kinds of evil enter the home. Can these two come back from the wild side and stop being desperate?

Desperate people do desperate things, making this the perfect title for this novel. These authors do a great job of adding to the novel to keep it intriguing. When you  think you know how it will end they switch it up.  I know this is going to be a series I will be on lookout for part two. I recommend this novel as I was flipping pages to see how would end. With an explosive ending that had me saying, WOW didn't see that coming.

By Any Means Necessary?

Chris and Angelique have their past issues. They are a couple who has it all until they both lose their jobs. This couple will do anything to obtain a decent income. Will they be able to forgive each other for the choices they make in order to stay afloat?

In today's economy, “Desperate” can be a reality. If you're married and used to having a certain lifestyle, you might be able to relate with some of what this couple is experiencing. Jessica Barrow-Smith and Nicki Monroe give you an extreme case of desperation. Just when you think you have it figured out, a twist is thrown into the mix. A definite must read!
