Jill and Cole are competing for the title of Best Chef – and the reviews agree with my assessment of this wonderfully romantic, yet occasionally hardcore story, where I found I loved the characters and rooted for them both to win as much as I wanted them to rip each other’s clothes off. Marsden is a masterful author, and it’s nice to see male characters that remind me of (sexy, flawed, hot) men in my life. Not boys – men. - Violet Blue

Enjoy a delicious erotic romance novella by bestselling author, Sommer Marsden.

Jill and Cole are competing for the title of Best Chef. The spicy, sizzling and heated televised contest fuels a lust in Jill she’d rather keep buried. She can’t be staring at the man’s muscles ... he’s her competition! During a quick cooking throwdown things start to simmer and it becomes harder and harder for Jill to ignore that she’s smitten in the kitchen. Cole’s suggestive glances and sly smiles aren’t helping her any. When fate puts her in his shower and then his chivalrous nature puts her in his borrowed clothes, there’s no way to deny the natural heat between them.

Ok, I think this was a novella. It seemed really short. But it was pretty good. I've not read any other novellas but I think this was a pretty decent introduction to them. I'll come back and edit this review if, after I read more novellas, that I see that this book was NOT a good representation.

So because its a novella, the character development was at a minimum. But somehow, the author gets you feeling like you DO know the characters pretty well. Its very weird but pretty cool too!

This story is about Jill and Cole who are in the middle of a cooking contest show, called Best Chef. Yeah, not super original, but that's not what matters. They have this sexual tension right from the beginning. He's shooting her sly, sexy looks and it drives her crazy and not always in a bad way!! They finally give in to their urges and spend some "special" time together. In the kitchen, they are equally matched, excellent chefs. In the bedroom, they are hotter than an oven on "Broil".

Even though we don't get into their characters too much, we still know quite a bit about these two. Especially about what drives them. For her, its a betrayal. For him, its his not so stellar past. Jill and Cole fall for each other and its totally believable. There are some laugh out loud moments and some really great sex scenes. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book.

I don't know how often I'll read a novella; I like to get in super deep into a story. But if you want to try one out, I think you'd like this one. Its short and sweet, funny and silly. The characters are believable and so is their heat. Give it a shot and let me know what you think! :)

Taste It is a common phrase in a chef's kitchen when they are cooking. Jill and Cole are in a national competition for 'Best Chef' and more is sizzling besides what they are cooking in the contest kitchen.

They take Taste It another level in this sexy and sweet romance that comes to a boil in the contest. The outcome is satisfying but the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger because they both go back home to different states???

This was a bit better than ok - but not by much. It was full of cliches and really not a lot of original ideas. The chemistry was there between the Chefs while they were working and flirting, but as soon as it came to sex , the author didn't seem to have the words to describe it in a sexy way... It was not erotic at all, even though it was supposed to be! She used mild and vanilla words and interrupted the sex scenes with "funny" dialogues and inner monologues.

The ending was also extremely "rainbows and unicorns" as the author doesn't even have a ! She totally took the easy way out.

Billed as the chemistry between the two chef's are as hot as the dishes they created. For me the reality was more a mild serving........

Ms. Marsden's story of two chefs who are competing on a TV reality show is both entertaing and arousing. Something unique about this story that makes a great read for me is the two levels of tension between the hero and heroine. Not only are they competing against each other for the title of Best Chef they also have a ton of sexual tension between them that is finally unleashed.

This is developed quite well...both in the dialogue between them as well as the sex. These scenes are not overly graphic but very arousing and the reader can feel the joy of the heroine (told in her POV) as not only do they feel the angst but you also feel the budding romance between them.

That aspect of the story is outstanding. The cooking competition is also well written but I felt let down by the conclusion to that part of the story which is why I give the book as a whole four and a half stars. I picked this up on the recommendation for this author from an fellow reader. I am glad I did.

Quite the cute little tale of chefs falling "in love" during a cooking competition.

Jill & Cole are cooking off for 'Best Chef' title and some amount of high cash. He's her only real opponent in the whole thing, and she's interested in him... as he is her. Finally they have some sexy fun when Jill's shower water breaks and she is forced to run to her neighbor's suite for some help. Ginna is one way and Cole is the other, unintentionally she goes to Cole's... and that's the end of that flirting across the stove and sink during the competition.

4 stars. Eh, I really doubt that love just happens like that. OH! I LOVE YOU! ... nope.

I really enjoyed this story. Not only did I love the competition (very much like Chopped!!), but I thought these two characters were great for each other! I loved their chemistry and how playful they were when they were with each other. The last competition part was a great scene where Cole is making sure Jill brings her best...and the fact that they worked so well together, even when they were competing so hard. Fairly hot sex scenes; the love these two had for each other was evident, even when struggling not to fall.

While Taste It is short, i won't call it sweet...i laughed out loud a few times - as I do when I read most of what Sommer Marsden writes. The characters jump off the pages for me as she makes them come alive so that I can feel like I am there with them. I don't know how she does this in such a short time but I love it.

Pick this tasty treat up if you like strong characters who stop fighting a building attraction...oh and there's food involved too!! ;)

Decent. Yes, this was erotica and it had a lot of sex, but it had a pretty good story-line as well. Most erotic romance is just sex from the first page to the last, but I was surprised and delighted with the plot. Two chefs competing on T.V.? Never heard of it before, and it was executed well.

But this is still an erotic novel and there was explicit sex scenes, and lots of them. Steamy but sometimes sweet. I'm glad it turned into something more for both characters instead of mindless sex.

I am definitely a Marsden fan. This little gem was as juicy as I expected and a little sweeter than some of her other fare. I was introduced to her work in the several anthologies we appear in together. Now I'm a paying customer, and gladly will be again and again. As always, this one is a sure bet for a quick hot read.

Jill and Cole are top chefs running against each other to see who will be the best in a TV competition. They fall for each other a little too quickly. This was an alright read.
