Tachibana Higuchi (樋口 橘, HIGUCHI Tachibana), born 1976-03-16 , is a Japanese manga artist. In year 1996, she first made her debut work in Bessatsu Hana to Yume's 5th issue, entitled 5 Gatsu no Sakura (『5月のサクラ』?).
During an interview with Tokyopop, she gave a detailed account of how she started as a mangaka.
"I first submitted a manga story a while after I graduated from high school. Up until then I was studying for the entrance examinations for the Art University, and as part of that, I sometimes drew manga and four-panel strip comics for fun.
"Because I was conscious of the fact that I had started drawing manga in earnest at a later age, I think my progress during the beginning on drawing and storytelling techniques was fast as I frantically tried to absorb everything I could learn about creating manga. After the serialization of the story began, as I got busy, I was so desperate to submit it on time that I feel that the drawings probably haven’t improved much compared to before. During the serialization of the manga, I think my story telling techniques improved more as I concerned myself with how to catch the attention of the readers, how well one can incorporate what the readers are seeking into the story."

So mutch laughter from this one but it has dark parts to. Looking forward to read more.

Dans l’ensemble j’ai bien aimé : les personnages sont agréables à suivre, sans prise de tête, l’intrigue se profile doucement et on en apprend davantage, au fur et à mesure, sur chacun des élèves de cette académie. J’ai bien aimé l’aspect principal du manga, le fait que les élèves aient des dons et qu’ils soient réunis dans cette école spéciale. Le personnage que j’ai le plus aimé est Natsume, il est très intrigant. Les planches sont belles et simple à lire une fois l’habitude prise. Ça m’a donné envie de secourir d’autres mangas. Le seul bémol de ce manga et que je l’ai trouvé trop enfantin, jeunesse et parfois, certaines réactions du personnages principale féminin, Mikan, m’a un peu dérangé.

Este Volumen toco mi corazón, superado todos los inconvenientes que no me gustaron en los primeros capítulos del volumen 1, el ritmo, la historia, los personajes, todo estuvo bien desarrollado.
Que cambio con Mikan, paso de ser un personaje que me cansaba, a encantarme con su dulzura, quisiera que se congele en el tiempo; la relación que formo con el profesor Narumi (nuevo amor platónico), me fascino, fue mi momento favorito del volumen, el instante en que le pregunta si le puede llamar papá, sencillamente hermoso.
Un 4/5 estrellas.

Me sigue hirviendo la sangre tanto o más como cuando vi el anime cuando se demuestra lo mierda que es la escuela. Además en el anime las cartas almenos estaban guardadas, pero la realidad es que se quemaban?? Girl...
El Jino este o como se llame (profe de las gafas) me sigue cayendo fatal y que haya salido el persona ya... Gimme a break.
Evidentemente va muchísimo más rápido que el anime, pero en algunos puntos no puedo afirmar que sea a su favor.

This manga is so addictive! Chapter 10 was so sweet; Narumi-sensei made my heart melt <3 The dodgeball chapter (9) was slightly boring, but otherwise my thoughts remain the same as for Vol. 1.
Favourite characters: Narumi-sensei, Luka-pyon, Yuu.

Cute little manga story. I like the moniker of "Alice" as a sort of superpower. Can't believe those newbies are 10 years old. I'd like for my 10 year old granddaughter to read it, but it has too many cuss words for her young soul.

Cute, but not really what I was looking for. I think if they were older - in high school - I would like it more. The fact that I was looking for a romance and they're all 10 years old just doesn't make me interested in the series.

Hodnotím 72% Jazyk: Aj
Pěkná kresba, které se dá bohužel hodně věcí vytknout. Občas měly nějaké části těla divnou velikost, jež se prostě nedala přehlédnout, protože to bilo do očí. Také se zde vyskytoval výškový nepoměr mezi různými věkovými skupinami. Taktéž se mi zdálo mnoho postav velice vzhledově podobných, takže se pak hůře rozpoznávali a bylo jednoduché se v tom ztrácet. U tohohle mohu ale přimhouřit oči, jelikož tu bylo charakterů opravdu požehnaně. Abych tady nezmiňovala jenom zápory, tak musím říci, že se mi hodně líbily zjednodušené kresby, design školních uniforem a ostatního oblečení.
Příběh se mi líbil, a dokonce mě některé momenty dojaly až k slzám. Pomyslela jsem si, že je moc hezké vidět něco tak nezkaženého. S odstupem času jsem ale k celému ději o dost skeptičtější. A překvapilo mě, kolik vad jsem byla schopna nalézt. Avšak ještě divnější bylo, že jsem si příběh byla přesto schopna docela užít.
První vadou je věk postav. Nemyslím tím, že je špatné, že jim bylo okolo deseti, ale to, že na svůj věk byli v některých ohledech až moc vyspělí. Řekla bych, že většina ve všech ohledech, protože především hlavní hrdinka měla tendence se k někomu pořád lísat. A kdyby nebyla tak nízcí, klidně bych prohlásila, že jsou na střední škole. Především když vezmu to, jak byli Mikan a Natsume pokročilý ve svém vztahu. Jako neřekla bych, že vášnivé líbání patří k desetiletým dětem. Ke všemu když se ani šesnáctiletí (nebo kolik jim bylo :D) nedostali tak daleko.
Dalším mínusem byla až přílišná zamotanost příběhu. Což bych nebrala obvykle jako vadu, ale tady to bylo až přespříliš. Začalo to někdy za dvacátou kapitolou. Od té doby jsem byla mnohokrát zmatená a nevěděla jsem, o co jde. Když k tomu navíc připočítáme to, jak moc si jednotlivé postavy byly podobné. A za druhé mě to ani nezajímalo, jelikož nějaký svůj příběh měl skoro každý. To je normálně dobrá věc, neboť to dodává příběhu na důvěryhodnosti. Tady to akorát zbytečně natahovalo příběh o nezajímavé informace o nudný charakterech, a když vezmete v úvahu počet postav... Je to pak úmorné.
Vadou číslo 3 jsou nezajímavé postavy, když nepočítám tedy ty hlavní, ty jsem si velice oblíbila. Ale ostatní mi byli úplně ukradení, a tak jsem přímo trpěla, když se tam objevovaly bubliny se strašně dlouhým textem. Ke všemu když se tam akorát řešily vztahy a jejich zamotanost. Tenhle a tamten miloval támhletu, ta milovalo tamtoho a tak dále. Tím se potom tak nějak vyřešilo všechno, což bylo dost neuvěřitelné. Ta láska se objevovala vážně všude, až to začínalo být nesnesitelné, jelikož nemůže být příčinou a průvodcem všech událostí.
Poslední výrazné mínus je, že nikdo nebyl ve skutečnosti zápornou postavou. Ze všech záporných postav se staly kladné, a nebo byly ukázány hrozně moc dobré "důvody," proč tomu tak je. Pokud teda nebudeme brát jako záporáky ty lidi, kteří stojí za Alice's Academy, neboť ti jediný byli zlí, neboť děti v ní vlastně uvěznili. Ale jelikož ani jeden z nich nebyl ukázán, tak se to nedá počítat.
Výše uvedená věc mi opravdu vadila. Vážně nemám ráda, takhle zkažený lidi, co myslí jen na sebe a na to, jak získat, co nejvíce peněz. Také si mi nelíbí to, jak ostatními opovrhují. Nechápu, proč jim ani nedovolili se vídat se svými rodiči. Jsem překvapená, že už dávno neudělali převrat. Protože bojovat proti zlu zevnitř, většinou moc nefunguje.
Abych jen příběhu něco nevytýkala, tak sem napíšu i nějaké klady. Nebo se o to aspoň pokusím. :D Největší plus bylo působení některých situací na mé emoce. Někdy v průběhu jsem byla opravdu emotivní, dokonce jsem uronila i pár slz. A u scének s Mikan a Natsumem jsem se culila jak malá holka. :D Pár věcí mě tu i pobavilo. A nic dalšího mě nenapadá. Ups...
Konec mi nijak zvlášť radost neudělal, jelikož je tam spoustu nelogických věcí, což mě štve. A celkově mi to přišlo celé divné
Anglické obálky se mi líbí o dost více než ty japonské. Vypadají víc elegantně a vznešeně. Na některých obálkách se mi ale nelíbí kresba postav/y.

I gave this volume a four instead of a five, because the intensity and plot declines in this book. This volume is more of a transition between the first story arc, and some of the plot are a little filler-ish. I still really enjoyed this volume and the series on a whole, just this volume is a little more set up after the initial bang.
Going back and reading this series, I realize that the detailing of the world and the plot is a little self-indulgent and immature, but I feel like this writer does it well. I think it's because of the author's love and her ability to write well; if someone else wrote this series, the little details would feel false, or they would feel just silly and it would be the evidence of bad/inexperience authorship. Somehow Higuchi-sensei makes this world and all her details work, they don't feel false or stupid or wrong. I don't know how else to explain it but that. Let me try an example. There are a lot of technicalities about this world, how powers work and the limitations, that could come off as the author jumping through hoops to create certain situations, but it works here. Another example, the kids on the last day of the festival are all given costumes to wear by the school, a small detail to get the students into cute costumes, but it also just works in this world, where in other anime/manga I would accept it, but I would also acknowledge it as silly and somehow breaking reality physics? Does that make sense? I don't know. Basically this author is a good writer, and her self indulgent moments that could feel false instead are endearing and enrich the world.

This series is one of my favourites and I have read and re-read it online countless times. I have been thinking about it recently and decided to re-read from the middle to the end of the series and that resulted in me crying for hours and days. This series has a hold of my emotions and will never fail to make me cry. I bought the first 10 volumes and reading this volume has made me understand more things clearly than it did years ago when I first read it. I absolutely love this series and hope they continue printing the manga or even reboot the anime but other than that, I highly recommend it!!

What!! Narumi sensei why do u lie to Mikan after all she done for you. At least take her to car with someone guard her n see Mikan's grandfather at least.Narumi sensei - u my fav character when he n Mikan sleep together in narumi's bed. Mikan called narumi - father.Awww!! what's up jiho-sensei - why he had grudge against Mikan - she never get trouble because of that girl fanclub of natsume n Luka.I hate that girl also jiho-sensei. Jiho-sensei - u know Mikan is nullifying Alice, why blame mikan but not the other students.Worst teacher ever.

Honestly, I feel so sad that Mikan's grandpa waits for her every day yet she can't go up to him and talk to him. WHAT'S WITH THE ACADEMY? I know they're special but still... they should at least be able to see her family. Mikan gives up on it really quickly though... which I guess happens to children of that age but HER GRANDPA COULD DIE! I'm serious, if he keeps coming daily to see if she's ok he will die. Dude if her grandpa dies I would legit sue the school. FAMILY SHOULDN'T BE APART!

La classe spéciale dans le T2 est le seul côté vraiment sympa, un endroit où les "mis de côté" se sentent bien, à leur place, dans une école toujours plus injuste, inconfortable, aux mœurs écœurantes.. Le manga date de 2003 et le harcèlement était déjà bien présent, équivalent à celui d'aujourd'hui.

It's my favorite manga in the whole world. 100% recommended, only if you are going to read it imagine that the protagonists are a few years older because with 10 years I know if you can have such a nice romance.
