My friends dared me to kiss her without revealing I’m the richest man in town. This lie will become my biggest downfall, as she hates affluence with every fiber of her being.
The dare was simple. Kiss the girl in a red dress, who was sitting alone at an upscale restaurant. But the moment my lips touch hers and her palm hits my face, I forget about winning everything else but her.
She accuses me of being self-centered, rich, and entitled. Even though it’s true, I’m more than that. In my determination to show her that not every rich man is a bastard, I resort to a fake name and job. Despite the lie, everything else that transpires between us is real. Every touch, every kiss, every tender moment, has a promise of a lifetime. But lies have short lives.
Will Sophia forgive me after finding out my truth?

Sophia and Asher story exceeded my expectations. This story was beautifully written and I’m so glad this story was told. Thank you Vikki for giving us this and for making us fall in love with both Sophia and Asher. 💜
Yes!!!! I have been hoping for their story and the amount of love I have for this author is crazy!! Such amazing talent in her words and the emotions that she makes you feel is amazing!!
I was so excited to see where these two started!! Sophia is exactly as I had hoped and also not, she’s so much more and paired with Ashcroft is crazy fireworks!! You can feel the pain Sophia feels at a certain moment, the shock and then later the comfort and shock again of awe. I never thought of Ashcroft as anything less than amazing but for a moment I grew annoyed. A moment I realize that he himself realizes later too! I love the amount of growth we watch, of emotional breaks and most of all I love the way he is with her!
At the end of this book I had a moment when I was do giddy my brain pictured me doing the happy dance like the gif of the Seinfeld are doing in the doorway of their apartment! I loved this book and as much as I thought it would be enough; it was exactly enough!!
Asher has a dare from his friends: kiss the girl before the night is over. Full of confidence, he walks over to the girl to chase her date, that has just arrived, away, and take his place. When she wants to leave, he kisses her, with a slap to the face as a result. But he can’t forget the girl or the kiss, so he will find out who she is. Sophia can’t believe that guy had the nerve of doing that, so when he shows up at work, she’s surprised to see him there. But Asher has a big secret, and when he gets to know Sophia, he doesn’t know if she will be with him once she knows.
Chasing Sophia is a fun quick read novella. If you’re looking for a fun billionaire romance, who wants to prove he is just a normal guy, pick this book. I love how she falls for the real man, and not his money that comes along.
Chasing Sophia is a heartwarming story about understanding and changing your view of those around you. If you have read The Teager Brothers Series, you have met Asher and Sophia. Ashcroft Miller, St. Peppers richest resident has come home. He is not one to flaunt his wealth and lines to keep a low profile. He is kind and generous with a heart of gold. Sophia despises rich men. This is due to her past and how it affected her family. To her, money is influence and greed. After learning who Asher really is, can she overlook his omission of his true identity Chasing Sophia is a beautifully written love story. I absolutely loved it. Since Asher and Sophia play a part in the lives of the Teager brothers, I’m glad we now have their story. A must add addition to your bookshelf.

Ever since reading the first book Beautiful Rose and the stories that followed knowing about these characters will break your heart but curious how it all started, this novella does just that. In this quick read we get Ash and Sophia’s story of how they started and while I know how their future goes it still makes me emotional and fall in love with them even more. Ash knows what he wants and that is Sophia, so he goes after her and he is willing to do whatever it takes even if that means being patient and taking his time. Their story may not be easy, but it is a beautiful one and their beginning makes me love them all that more.
I was excited to see we were getting Ash and Sophia story. We know from Beautiful Rose what happens in the future but what was the origin. Well this little novella is just that. And ohhhh wow it was beautiful. At time I want to hit them but they kinda got it together in the end. I recommend reading the Teager in order to get the full feeling of this book but this can be read as a standalone
Fun sweet story of Ash & Sophia. Love how their story is intermingled with other books. He was so devoted to finding her and getting her he went out of his comfort zone to impress her. Really enjoyed this book.
I received this free eARC novel from the author. This is my honest review.
Oh Sophia and Ash. Seeing how they met each other was fantastic and I loved every minute of it. I don't think Ash has had to work that hard in his life to get the attention of the woman he fell for, so it was entertaining to see him chase her.
And Sophia may have her qualms against the rich, but I think that's a bit harsh to everyone who has money based on one person. Now, if she's dealt with multiple people like that, it world be justified.
I loved this short story so much and can't edit too at it too my physical collection, aka shrine, to Vikki Jay's masterpieces!
Loved it but was left desperately wanting more. This short read is sweet and romantic, the storyline was beautiful, I couldn't put it down.
This is the story of how Ash and Sophia first met. Set in the past it was a really good read, as I already knew the future story. Ash falls for Sophia on first sight, and spends the book trying to convince her to fall for him just as hard, which doesn't take much convincing.
Strongly recommend you read this after The Teager Family Series.
I was really excited to see the backstory of Ash and Sophia but honestly it was a little disappointing. Starting with a dare, followed by some light stalking, then the entire relationship is built on a lie because of her weird hatred of rich people that didn’t even feel fleshed out. Only to end with her magically forgiving him without anything actually happening. Like yes she’s mad at him for a bit and shuns him a bit and he continues to stalk her but then she’s just over it with only a short and shallow discussion. This was the least realistic in the series and considering what happens to them as explained in the other books this just felt too shallow for such a deep couple.

It's interesting how we judge certain groups of people and make the decision that everyone is that way who have those qualifications. Ashcroft definitely did not fit the mold. Sophia quickly found out. A great short story.
Chasing Sophia by Vikki Jay is a small-town romance about a wealthy retired veteran Ashcroft Miller and a pianist Sophia Jones.
In this brief novella, Vikki has created two characters who are the ideal counterbalance to one another, with Sophia's soft demeanor complementing Ash's self-assured personality. Additionally, I found it amazing that despite Sophia's reluctance, Ash was the one to initiate contact, and how he constantly encouraged her to be the best version of herself.
Overall, Vikki was able to write a lovely love-at-first-sight narrative, in which the novel didn't feel rushed quickly, which added to the angst.
*Thank you to the author, Vikki Jay for providing me with this e-arc in exchange for an honest review!*
Vikki Jay, how dare you make me cry with almost all your books?
Ash and Sophia completely stole my heart in the Teager series, but this short novella truly solidified them for me. I adored how their story began. Ash saw Sophia and knew immediately what he wanted, and honestly? That had me giggling and kicking my feet. He wasn’t overly flashy or showy, instead, he let her get to know him as a person first, and that alone made my heart burst.
Sophia was such a relatable character. I know I wouldn’t talk to a guy either if he kept such a huge part of himself a secret. I understood why Ash did it, especially knowing how much she hated rich people, but the way he showed up for her in the end was everything. Seeing him prove how much he cared, and watching Sophia finally get the validation that she earned her place in the show because of her talent, not because strings were pulled, had me tearing up. It was all she ever wanted.
This novella was sweet, passionate, and full of heart, and I loved every single second of it.
Asher has been a character who I have fallen in love with since the Teagers family books, and this story just makes me fall even harder. He is the richest man in the city, but not many know what he looks like. He takes on look at Sophia and falls instantly in love, never expecting her to run from him, ignore him, reject him and her complete prejudice against the rich and the wealthy.
“A voice echoes inside me that after tonight, my life isn’t going to be the same.”
But Asher is not afraid of hard work and will make Sophia fall for him as much as he has fallen for her, even if he has to lie about his wealth in order to make it happen.
"The more you play hard to get, the more irresistible you become to me.”
Sophia’s gentle behavior is perfectly complimented by Asher’s confident and predatory nature, and its wonderful to see how he treats her with respect and love, never giving up on her and also strengthens her faith, and his extremely romantic gestures, so sweet in their simplicity... sigh
"People are never black and white, Soph. We’re all some shade of gray based on situations in life.”
“You can borrow some of my faith until you collect yours, babe.”
It’s a beautiful love at first sight story, but this book actually made me so sad, especially knowing what I know after reading Beautiful Rose and Loving Rose. Vikki Jay as an author knows how to write to hurt and to repair. Its despair and the hope all at the same time, and I’m here for it.
