When ambition rules, when lives are sacrificed for society's good, when evil is worshiped, who dares to stand in the way? Brad Forrest is a young, overworked pediatric surgeon who risks losing everything—including his lovely wife and his young son—to obtain the career opportunity of his dreams. Web Tyson, founder and head of the most prestigious pediatric surgery practice in the Southeast, may bet he next Surgeon General of the U.S—unless the truth comes out about what is happening in Room 525 of the Crestview Women's and Children's Health Center. Lenore Kingsley, rich president of a huge pharmaceutical company, is using her power to engage in human DNA splicing research and to make Web Tyson the next Surgeon General—for her own purposes. These three personalities collide in a strange chain of events that none of them would have chosen and that none of them may survive. Can anyone—even the prayer remnant at Patterson's Nursing Home—make a difference now? An unforgettable story of passion and power, with spiritual themes that no one should ignore.
Harry Kraus, M.D. is a board-certified surgeon, medical missionary to East Africa, and accomplished writer of both non-fiction and fiction. Medical realism and gripping plotlines distinguish his writing, as he gets most of his ideas with a scalpel in hand. Dr. Kraus resides in Virginia with his wife Kris and the youngest of his three sons.
You must read the first book associated with this book . It’s Stainless Steel Hearts . You will then be drawn into this murder mystery. Some of the things going on in the books were unsettling. I almost stopped reading several times but then prayer discernment and Christian values came in . I’m looking forward to reading the next book connected to these that I mentioned.
I just found a new favorite author!!!! Amazing story,...just amazing!!!
This book was so riveting....amd makes you think of the possibility of something like this headed our way...I really hope not, but I think the will of evil will try to promote this horror, even as it did with Hitler and his evil drive for a perfect race and eliminate the "weak ones".
You will be amazed at the fact this book was written quite a few years back. It is an excellent book dealing with health care issues we may be facing very soon. It definitely shows the spiritual warfare that we face in our lives.
3.5 stars. Interesting medical mystery which I love, but sometimes there was a little too much going on.....But I like Harry Kraus and would definitely read his next!
When I purchased this book I didn’t look at the publisher. While a decent story it was comical in trying to push dr kraus’s religious views. Now I understand how people believe in human sacrifice. It was over the top. Attacking pagans, gay, strong woman figures, abortion.
I liked the sanctity of life beliefs of the protagonist characters and that they treated all patients equally regardless of genetic abnormalities or life choices.
But I was distracted by many minor characters having the same name and felt there were too many minor characters (some could have been reused in additional scenes). And I didn't like that one of the antagonists openly served Satan--even though in the end the Master of Deceit was defeated by the Creator.
It wehad more bad parts more then the good. I then put it down. It wasn't what I expected at all. I'm sure it all worked out in the end. But there are other books out there with more positive material.
Although written in 1996, the government involvement in healthcare make it seem like it was written this year. A combination medical thriller and spiritual warfare story--started slowly but built up speed to where I could hardly put it down.
Interesting book. A bit slow to start with as all the characters were introduced. But then turned into quite a thriller. Lots of detail about gene manipulation, and paediatric surgery.
