3.5 stars.

I honestly don´t remember when I read I AM ALIVE but I think that it was 2 years ago, so some of the details of the first book are fussy on my mind. I mean I do remember the most important parts, but it still was a bit disorienting, at least at the beginning. It wasn´t that big of a deal since everything is pretty much explained again - on account that the last book came out in 2014 - and so I found my footing pretty quick.

I wasn´t expecting a lot of action or drama in this book, Cameron tells us since the beginning exactly what this book is gonna have, and he wasn´t lying. The book is pretty much an opportunity to reconnect with the characters and see first hand how much their lives have changed in the year that has passed since the first book. Still is nothing but captivating to get to see everything and live the mystery with the rest of the characters.

It gets off with a rather strong beginning and closes with a super interesting epilogue - in true Cameron fashion - that left me gasping and wondering how on earth I didn´t see that before.

Thank goodness the chapters were rather short and easy to read, and so everything in between was a fast blur of activity and words.

A thing that unsettled me was the first person narration (definitely not my favorite) it took me a while to get used to it. Was the first book like that too? Honestly, I don´t remember.

In the end, though it was a nice book that leaves the door open for what looks like an epic series that will be filled with awesome mysteries, and for sure I will be reading the next book.

A Hunger Games kind of book. I won an electronic copy of I Am Alive #1-3 from a giveaway so this is for all three.

The story was okay. I did not love nor hate it, no strong feelings for it. It was a predictable and short read. I wasn't into the book for the first few pages, I felt disbelief on more than one instance because of the inconsistencies in the story, but I finished it all the same.

This book may be enjoyed more by young children and teens.

* I liked #2 and #3 more than #1.

Proper review to come.

Even with two stars, because of the damn epilogue, I want to read the third installment. But I can’t find where to read it from.

I dont understand such a high rating...

Possible spoilers ahead...

This book is a great addition to its predecessor.. Or even better a great beginning to the next book. This is not a story on its own. It had a crisis of identity for Decca but it is not at all the character study that it claims to be. Nothing actually happens until the end....which does not address the crisis in the first chapter.

None of the other characters are evolved like we are lead to believe. I would have loved back story on Pepper, Van, Leo, Woo, Bellona...anything. We get no additional info.

I love C.J. but this is more of an extended post script ( or really a pre-script of the sequel) than a true sequel on its own

So cliche, I know, but it's true! I couldn't book the down!

Five stars to this author. He exceeded all my hopes for this sequel! So many questions answered and so many more delightfully created. I really couldn't book the down. I called in sick to work! The characters are beautifully developed and expanded. I cried when I reached the end. Why, because the author leaves such a heart pounding cliff hanger! I know I will spend the next couple of days thinking about this book. Taking it more in and letting it's spell work more magic in me.

Yes!!!!

After waiting a long time for this book Cameron does not disappoint. It was nice to get a inside view of the characters and how they came to be. To see their strengths and their vulnerabilities. The ending though....!!!! Loved it Cam!!!

I know this book was supposed to be about character building but I felt like there was very little plot and it just felt like filler. I am interested in seeing what happens in the third book

We finally find out if Decca chose to become a monster or Faya’s first citizen to be ranked a ten and see her living with the fallout from her choice. We also see the other survivors of the Monster Games and how they’re adjusting to life after the games. Leo has a lot to explain, like whether the attraction to Decca real or faked during the game. Woo is acting like someone else entirely and keeping a ton of secrets about himself, Decca, and even Faya. He refuses to tell her what makes her so special and why he chose to help her. Suddenly, the three of them find themselves facing consequences that they could never have imagined. Now, Decca finds herself struggling with a new decision . This time staying alive won’t be enough.

I can’t even express how excited I was when I found out that this long awaited sequel to I Am Alive was finally coming out. I even admit that I may have been nagging the author since I read book 1, in 2014. I can honestly say that the wait was WORTH IT!! Book 2 doesn’t have as much action but it was still impossible to put down. This book dealt a lot more with character development of both our beloved characters from book 1 and introduces some new ones, as well. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone. Cameron does a fantastic job setting up for book 3, as well. I can’t wait to read the next book but I’ll try to hold off nagging...note that I said I’d *try*.
