About the author

Sujatha was the allonym of the Tamil author S. Rangarajan, Author of over 100 novels, 250 short stories, ten books on science, ten stage plays, and a slim volume of poems. He was one of the most popular authors in Tamil literature, and a regular contributor to topical columns in Tamil periodicals such as Ananda Vikatan, Kumudam and Kalki. He had a wide readership, and served for a brief period as the editor of Kumudam, and has also written screenplays and dialogues for several Tamil movies.

As an engineer, he supervised the design and production of the electronic voting machine (EVM) during his tenure at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a machine which is currently used in elections throughout India. As an author he inspired many authors, including Balakumaran, Madhan.

a very simple story, not a usual Sujatha stories but it explains cooperate companies and how they function and giving a strong message that your certificate and educational qualification doesn't matter how you work. the story ends with a cliff hanger - typical Sujatha.

Thrill

மணியன் மாத இதழில் தொடர்கதையாக வெளி வந்த குறுநாவல் இது. 80 களில் எழுதப்பட்ட சுஜாதாவின் எழுத்து ஒவ்வொரு வரியிலும் பிரதிபலிக்கும் கதை.

Those were the times when Sujatha portrayed women in a fashion that would border on objectifying (2023 standards). Combined with a predictably confident negative protagonist, the direction the story takes shouldn’t surprise any Sujatha fan.

ஒன்று மட்டும் நிச்சயம் - விறு விறுப்பான இந்த குறுநாவலை ஒரே நாளில்... ஏன், ஒரே மணி நேரத்தில் படித்துவிட முடியும். By that measure, சிவந்த கைகள் is a classic Sujatha novel.

This book begins with a very slow pace and a lot of description, I enjoyed the turn of events in the last 20 pages of the book. Clearly shifted the plot in a very short span and was totally captivating. I doubt if it will interest a lot of people, but it'll be a good read for sure.

Page Turner

Another Quick read page Turner. How the protagonist climbs the corporate ladder and how the wrong which he does on the path is going to come back to bite him in the future( is not told ) so if there is a second part would have been better

It’s a compelling take on workplace politics and how one individual’s ambition to climb the corporate ladder unexpectedly affects his subordinate. Sujatha also weaves in themes of luck, health, and the fleeting nature of human emotions, culminating in an open-ended conclusion. It’s remarkable how the story remains relevant even in today’s society.
