Master locksmith Steven Hampton reveals here the tricks and tools for bypassing keyed and combination locks from pin tumbler locks, mushroom and spool pin tumbler locks, wafer tumbler locks, warded locks and disk tumbler locks to tubular cylinder locks, magnetic locks, door locks, padlocks and automobile locks. Find the key to "seeing" into every lock and discovering its simplicity.
So, from what I have learned this is one of the best books to read for making impromptu tools on picking locks. Though the whole foundation of the book is based on the idea that you can't buy lock picks, which now doesn't apply to us because you can get anything off the internet. It was good information to read, but not a good beginners book teaching you how to pick locks.
Interesting and in depth on pin tumbler picking but almost all the other styles of lock addressed in the book were described as "just like pin tumbler but you do this part a little different." Still a fun read.
Extremely informative book that does exactly as it promises. Of course, with something like lockpicking you have to understand that the trick is in the practice, but Mr. Hampton gives you the tools to get started, as well as offering advice and tricks that he's learned over years. Definitely glad I read this as a start to teaching myself a new skill.
