“Lost: Nicki Sosebee #6” by Jade C. Jamison 5 out of 5 stars
It’s time for Nicki to do some soul-searching! Her personal life is in upheaval and she’s starting to wonder if she’s made any good decisions lately. All she needs is some time with her BFFs Brandy and Jillian to show her that maybe it’s time to grow up and start figuring out what she really wants from the men in her life. On the professional front, Nicki’s starting to realize that the government in her small town has some corrupt players and fighting them won’t be as easy as she hoped!
It’s fun to meet new characters and in this book we get two! The addition of Seth and Todd is like a breath of fresh air. They both bring something fresh to the table and I hope that this book won’t be their only appearance. Just like with Matt, we get to see the young and fun side of Nicki when she is with Seth. I could easily see him becoming a good friend for her in the future. Todd offers her a new experience and he definitely brings the heat! While I don’t think he’s the guy for her, I would love to get to know him anyway!
This was the first book that I actually appreciated Nicki’s girl friends, Brandy and Jillian. In previous books they didn’t seem to carry much weight but here Jamison uses them to push the story forward. I finally got the back story on Nicki and Sean that I had been hoping for and now I can honestly say I’m torn between him and Jesse. I’m ready for Nicki and Sean to give their relationship a shot so I can compare and decide who I’m really going to root for.
I like the continued thread of the corrupt government storyline. I’m enjoying the slow build and I’m intrigued with where the story is going. Jamison has done well with not rushing here and by spreading it over several books (so far) she continues to keep me interested in what the future holds.
I will say again that Jamison continues to be one of my favorite authors. She really gets inside the heads of her characters and what comes out is real, everyday life. I love how rooted in realism she keeps her books and I can’t wait to get started on the next one. I can’t recommend her books enough!
*I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.*
Series: Nicki Sosebee #6 Category /Genre: Romance Received from: Jade C. Jamison in exchange for an honest review Recommended for: 18 + due to adult situations and sexual content Grammar/editing: A – near perfect
First sentence in the sixth book in this series is, “Nicki and Jesse have broken up again, but this time it’s for good.” Wait a minute! What the hell!! Yep, the damn video games did it. Well, not fair to blame the games. Another idiot man who doesn’t see the folly in making his woman play second fiddle to a game, TV, alcohol,…whatever his particular addiction. I applaud Nicki for doing the hard thing and kicking him to the curb. As much as it breaks both of their hearts, she has made a stand for herself.
A weekend with her besties is the remedy prescribed for Nicki’s heart. During a sleepover with Jillian and Brandy at her house, Nicki gives them some of the history between Sean and her. Wow! Nicki and Sean really have been there for each other, time and time again. It’s no wonder that she is obsessed. It wouldn’t make sense if she wasn’t permanently in love with the man.
While Sean is not available and Jesse has put himself out of the race, Nicki is pursued by the bassist of a metal band in town for the weekend. The sex was so hot, I was surprised my Kindle didn’t catch on fire! Unfortunately, sex is a temporary solution to a permanently broken heart. Sometimes it feels like following Nicki’s sexcapades is a game of roulette. I only hope she soon lands on a lucky number.
As for her reporting, though not a prominent portion of this book, the message is clear. Nicki has to pick her battles and sometimes the war is more important. I wonder where she’ll pick up her guns next.
I have to say I am glad that I have the next two books in this series (and number nine is only a couple of weeks away). If I had to wait, as so many did, I think I would be tearing my hair out. See you tomorrow with my review of #7 INNOCENT BYSTANDER.
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
AHHHHHHHH!!!!! *Takes in a big breath* OK peps...this book is about a kidnapping but honestly the main story line is Nicki telling us allll about her and Sean's relationship mishaps and close calls. Nicki, Brandy and jillian have a girls night out and the girls give Nicki a hard time for Jesse. She explains the why's of it but they dont buy it. They tell her it is due to Sean. So Nicki begins to tell the story about their relationship and man is timing always bad for them!!! LOL There were sooo many times they could have but the other stopped for a legit reason. It defo makes me want their relationship to come to light. I want to see them together.
Jesse made me sad this book. He runs in to Nick and tries to have some swagger BUT he is broken. I wont even tell you how sad he is later when he sees Nicki on a date with the rockstar. The rockstar did a "good job' helping Nicki finally mourn Jesse and her relationship.
The main story line is a kidnapping of a high ranking officials daughter. Sean is dating the older daughter and so he has Nicki help investigate what happened. it was actually very shocking and sad. Nicki is realizing her small town is very very corrupt. She doesn't know what to do about it either.
Ok so if you have enjoyed these reviews people ya need to read them. I am hoooooooked. These books are my personal addiction!!!!
Being the sixth Nicki Sosebee in the series, it is a must that you read the rest to get the full benefit of this book. Jade C Jamison has managed to keep the series fresh and the reader interested and engaged.
Quick recap: Nicki is a freelance reporter for the local newspaper and a part-time waitress. She has a continuing attraction to two very hot men: Sean and Jesse. At the end of 'One More Time' she was in a serious relationship with one of them.
The story that Nicki is chasing is almost incidental in this book as dealing with her personal issues need to take precedence. The daughter of one of the town's influential families has gone missing. Whilst this story line gathers pace towards the end of the book, I suspect the repercussions will be felt later as the series develops.
Personally, Nicki is lost. Her relationship has ended as her fear of commitment consumed her. A large part of this book is spent with Nicki reflecting on her complicated relationship with Sean (one of the two hot men she is attracted to). She needs to convince herself that she has made the right decisions over both Sean and Jesse before she can move on.
Another fantastic read and again different to the earlier books in the series. The style and the focus is directly linked to Nicki's emotions and focus. Jade C Jamison has created a character in Nicki Sosebee that the reader can enjoy, invest in and go on a journey with (and what a journey so far!), I can't wait to see where this series takes Nicki next!
Nicki Sosebee is for sure my all time favorite character ever written by Jade C. Jamison. She fun, spunky, has a lot of fun, and most of all gives us a lot of mystery. Jade has written nine books about Nicki so far and i hope she isn't done!! I want to keep reading about Nicki's exciting life. Read about what new stories she will be reporting about, and for sure find out what happens with her and the man she loves. Nicki's best friend, Sean was the one man she wanted to make things work with, the man she wanted to love. Only thing was they were somehow stuck in that friend zone. So while trying to get her career and get the guy Nicki blew off steam with other men. Only in this series NIcki tended to make steam, Jade sure did make sure we knew Nicki sizzles. Things always seem to get messy with Nicki's life, but she always finds a way out. Her life is definitely an entertaining one, and it takes you on a wild ride with no stopping.
Lost (Nicki Sosebee #6) Once again things are crazy in NIcki's world. Jesse and Nicki are over, and Nicki now realizes just how much she truly cared for him, but she just can't get over Sean. Nicki finally comes clean with her girlfriends on why she is hung up on Sean. So what better way to mead a broken heart than to try it out with a rockstar. On the work front though, Nicki is starting to report on a kidnapping. Not just any kidnapping, but its the daughter of one of the lawyer's in town. Nicki is seriously starting to look at her little hometown with a whole new perspective.
I know I sound like a broken record, but I Love this series! I can't believe more people haven't read the Nicki books. They are just so damn fun to read.
Book 6 in the series starts with Nicki explaining her break-up with Jesse which I was great full for because it kind of left me hanging in book 5.
Then we move on to Sean. I love how we go back in time with Nicki explaining certain situations regarding her and Sean to her BFF's. it made me love him all over again.. And then 20 pages later wanted to throttle his ass. *sigh* this is why I love this series so much.
We also get back to Nicki's casual sexcapades. Yay! Those are always what I look forward to and this time its with a bad ass bassist, Todd.
Here's my Todd
Nicki is also still freelance reporting for The Winchester Tribune and she find herself investigating a missing girl. This story was very interesting and sets us up for book 7.
Nicki is my homegirl...ok really, this chick rocks!! She's practically fearless on the job and goes head first into most situations...even juggling her feelings for Sean, Jesse and now a hot night with a rocker who she hooked up with to find some "release" and try to erase Jesse from her mind. A missing girl (who happens to be the sister of Sean's latest fling) who is running from a horrific home life...and nobody wants to help her except Nicki. We are left with a cliffhanger again and must get on with reading the next one!! So much fun =)
I received this book #6 in the Nicki Sosebee series as a gift.
I don't think I have ever read a series so fast in my life. Nicki Sosebee has broken up with Jesse Roberts for good. So at the moment she is heart broken, but horny as hell. She meets a guy at a party and the guy turns out to be obsessed with video games ( great) So she is let down. She spends a week end with er BFF's and goes to a concert. The brother of one of her friends is the lead singer......No spoilers.. But the other part of this book is where Nicki has too solve the disappearance of a young girl. There are secret's that surround this disappearance will really shock you too your core....
Still loving this series!! Like One More Time, I felt this was missing something, but it's a series so I think we're getting pieces that are building up to something pretty awesome. Because that's what Jade writes...awesome books! We get a little more backstory about Nicki and Sean's relationship in this book, told through a girl's weekend with Nicki's two best friends, as well as some heartbreak and sexy adventures. This can be read as a standalone, but I would definitely not recommend it because there are things that wouldn't be relevant to you without having read the previous books. I'm excited to see what happens next with Nicki!
Noooo.. Sniff sniff sniff... Jesse and Nicki... Sniff... I luv them...
Still with all the heartache... You still get Nicki and a hottie... Todd! And of course... Nicki the ever insistent reporter is stirring a witches cauldron of some serious trouble with the good ole boys of Winchester... Running and plunging into book 7... I have a feeling the drama is gonna go nuts!

What can I say? I am definitely Team Jesse but dude, you fucked up! Sean just might step in soon and sweep Nicki away dude! Oh and Todd? Yum! Nicki is really rattling some cages with the good ol boys club of,Winchester. Can't wait to see what the next installment brings.
I love this series! I am finding myself leaning towards Team Sean now. I still want to kick him in the nuts but the urges aren't quite as intense as in previous installments. I can't wait to see what happens in Innocent Bystander. Starting it now!
I always love everything Jade C Jamison writes and the Nicki Sosebee series is my new obsession. As I'm reading these books so fast, I'm going to write one big review at the end of the series :)
