Her other manga series include Wild Adapter, Shiritsu Araiso Koto Gakko Seitokai Shikkobu (Araiso Private School Student Council Executive Committee), and Stigma.

This volume reminded me of an event that occurred in July. Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was assassinated by a man seeking revenge against the Moonies (Unification Church), a religious cult, for his mother giving them all her money. This volume reminded me how Minekura writes little philosophical thoughts as intros to each chapter in Saiyuki. I enjoyed this chapter about God. It looked like Tokito had a flashback.

I'm really starting to like this series! (No surprise, its Kazuya fricken Minekura for crying out loud XD) but I'm sad there is only three more volumes left to go. I'm sure I'll be sad and heartbroken....probably not as much as I am about Saiyuki but still. Maybe, keeping my fingers crossed, another American publisher will pick this series as well as Saiyuki up and I can be a happy, happy girl.
But enough about that. I absolutely adore the two main characters of this series! They're great! I really don't even see a resemblance to Hakkai anymore because I've gotten to know them...but like Hakkai, I've come to love them too (but not AS much... I mean, I love Tokito and Kubota just as much as the next girl, but really, they aren't Hakkai ;-) haha! Okay okay! Enough Saiyuki talk!)
The story is really interesting and intriguing! Minekura-sama really does have an amazing gift for story telling! And her artwork, as always, is absolutely beautiful! I love her chapter title pages! They're always so beautiful! I wish I could see them in color!
Anyway, great volume, can't wait to read the next. In the meantime, here is a sexy as hell picture of Kubota from this volume! Can you say yum? :p

I'm glad I had an opportunity to browse Wild Adapter volume 3 at the bookstore, because I would have been annoyed if I'd bought it. I've loved everything else Minekura has done but Kubota and Tokito have about two shades of characterization each in this volume and the plot did nothing for me. Kubota is cool and superior, while Tokito is impatient and young-acting. I just don't care about anything going on in here or the search for W.A. I didn't like volume 2, and I still find it preferable to volume 3.
On a much smaller note, no way would Tokito's gloved hand look like that when he has long claws. I have long nails, so I know.
I'm giving up on the Wild Adapter series.

The one where Kubota and Tokito investigate a cult. Also, there is a lovely little vignette at the end that is a lot like fanfiction, in that it depends heavily on our pre-existing affection for the characters to work, and if we have that affection, it works beautifully. It leaves wonderfully much unsaid.

This has never been my favorite of the volumes, mainly because the mixture of plot and character stuff doesn't feel as cohesive, despite the very clearly overarching theme of "god" throughout the whole volume. Still good, though.

In which Kubota and Tokito investigate a cult that may have links to W.A. I especially laughed at their performance for the listening device and Kubo's suggested cover story for infiltrating the cult.

3.5 stars. Not as good as the previous volume, mostly because it was basically a stand alone story in which Kubota and Tokito investigated a cult and became friends with a freelance reporter. We did learn more about Tokito's past, though. And the bonus story was incredibly cute!

July 28, 2011Another fabulous offering in this series. This particular subplot is very dark and strange but this volume also had more humor then the others -- including some snarky comments that made me laugh out loud. Very enjoyable and I can't wait for the next one!

not the strongest volume! kubota and tokito investigate a cult, not much progresses re characterization or plot. granted this is a plot light series in general but ehhh. it did while away one of my endless laptop deprived hours. 3 stars

I found the ending of this manga to be a bit melodramatic...this one was not as catching as the first two, but I'm still interested in reading the next one.
