a good introductory text for Ancient Rome. Mostly concentrates on the Republic, with light treatment of the fall of the Republic and the beginnings of Empire as well what is known of pre-Republic Rome. Draws from many sources and is a good taster of all major works on the history of the Republic, with good introductions to each chapter.
