I fell in love with this manga immediately.
It drew me in and kept me there. Sadly to say i have been reading it from the internet and hate to wait in between chapters.
I've also been watching it's anime and I've seen the first episode of the TV show extravagant challenge based on this manga.
But nothing beats the manga because it has all the extra details that are not shown elsewhere.

I'm writing this review for all of the volumes of Skip Beat because i tend to read them all together. I enjoy Kyoko's personality, the way she is inexperienced in various things(such as friends, boyfriends, etc.), serious with others(her acting,etc.)..Her relationship with Ren and how she won't admit to her feelings. I also like the turn of events with Sho, how he is now interested in her.

I like reading this manga over & over again because it basically shows a young girl who had her heart broken and was stepped on, who gathered up all her anger, her little left hope and decided to get revenge. Along the way she makes friends, experiences new feelings, develops a deep love for her acting which changes things around for her.

No matter how many time you get knocked down, you should get back up and fight!!

Hahaha I always rate the funny volumes higher than the purely dramatic volumes. Yashiro-san's reactions to Kijima's provocations of Ren are just too good not to warrant their own star. Plus, I want Ren provoked. He needs to step up his game. Well, he doesn't need to- I want him to. Also, Shou's monkey butt is up to something... And he's always very amusing. :-)

The president's "stroke" and "male instincts"? Gross. And maybe I'm over almost killing someone for the sake of acting/therapy. Kijima making Ren jealous doing more than anyone else's meddling. Overall tho a volume that felt all over the place.

Still slowly having more details of Kuon's past revealed... I just want to know ALL THE THINGS for sure, y'know? ;u; Stop teasing meeeeee. All we got this time was that Kuon used to get teased about his "mixed blood" (did NOT know he was Japanese, American AND Russian) and he reacted... violently... 8'D

I really enjoyed the interludes in this that showed what Shou was up to. Absolutely loved seeing his reaction to Kyouko's interview (and that voice message he left on her phone? I'm just dead XD) and then that cliffhanger ending, in which Shou said that he's "going to school"? I REALLY hope that means he either a) is going to see Mimori at school (which is where KYOUKO IS RIGHT NOW), or that b) he knows that Kyouko's at school right now and has gone to ambush her.

Either way, as long as the next volume has some kind of confrontation with Shou and Kyouko, I will be happy :|

Does anyone think that Ren’s kind of a jerk when he’s jealous? Maybe it’s just me 🤷‍♀️

Nakamura's unique blend of outrageous humor and heart pulling angst continues in Volume 31 as we continue the Breath of Darkness story arc.

In this volume, the battle of Kuon/Ren personalities are explored and Kyoko begins to realize that the darkness driving Ren likely has to do with a serious event in the past. At the same time, taunts from co-actor Murasame further Ren's descent into his own personal hell and push him to a dangerous act. Only Kyoko's voice helps save Tsurga and find the balance he needs to regain the submerged Kuon. But can Ren help Kyoko to restart the heart that she stopped beating after Sho's original betrayal? And Sho himself makes an appearance again and foreshadows disastrous events for both Ren and Kyoko in future volumes!

The President's scheme to heal both Ren and Kyoko but putting them into an intimate situation really furthers the story between them and the Breath of Darkness arc is one of the best in the entire series! This book really was all about Ren, though, and Kyoko discovering his vulnerabilities and knowing instinctually how to both address and assuage/mitigate them.

Skip Beat continues to be one of my favorite manga (though I think Nakamura's previous work, Tokyo Crazy Paradise, will always be my personal number 1!). It just gets better with each volume!

I still love this series, but I miss the humor that it had in the beginning. I'm looking forward to seeing how it could come back.

P.s: grande Kyoko, fondatrice dello Tsuruganesimo 🤣

Today's manga post is on Skip Beat!, Vol. 31 by Yoshiki Nakamura. It is 192 pages long and published by Shojo Beat. The cover has Kyoko and Ren on it. As it is the thirty-first in the series, you need to have read the first thirty volumes to understand the story. There is no foul language, no sex, and action violence in this manga. The intended reader is someone who likes silly plots with great characters. The story is told from the third person close of the main characters. There Be Spoilers Ahead.
From the back of the manga- Ren is fighting to keep himself under control, but living as Cain Heel and simultaneously building the character BJ are really wearing him down. Kyoko is getting really worried, but even President Lory can’t do more than encourage her to support Ren. Can Kyoko’s own dark side give her the insight to help her friend, or will she be forced to watch as he self-destructs?!

Review- Ren is getting too much into character and it is affecting everything. Kyoko is worried about him and she is still having to be Setsu. So they have some funny dramatic moments. Sho is back, sadly, and making a pain of himself, like normal. I like seeing what is goin on in Ren's head and what is driving him. But I would like to see Kyoko and Ren have more real interactions, not as characters. But the Heel siblings are pretty funny, so I'm having fun just the same. I look forward to the next volume.

I give this volume a Five out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.

Cartoonish scene. Ren does the stunts, but not very well drawn. Kyoko reflects and probably comes closer to the motivation for the violent behaviour. Despite being the traditional girl she is, she now enters the bathroom with Ren naked without a problem.
