Kayla, also known as, “Kay-Kay” the oldest daughter at seventeen is aware of her mother’s struggle with her drug addiction. She is certain that she can live like a Diamond Princess if she is able to find and fall in love with a street-dealer in the drug game and move out of the hood. However, she soon discovers that becoming a dope boy’s chick has its benefits yet, a heap of disadvantages.
Alize, the youngest daughter at sixteen is not as accepting and loving as her older sibling to her mother’s extreme drug usage. With her eyes set on a prize too, a drug dealer and having the same frame of mind as Kay-Kay the two sisters are on the prowl in search of a dude in the game to save them so they can live Ghetto Fabulous!
After the many brawls with different females over the two guys they choose, and becoming frustrated, they must decide to listen to their hearts or minds. In the process, the two endure unforeseen and painful occurrences.
Can Tamela overcome her addiction and reconstruct her life before her way of living catches up with her? Or will Kay-Kay and Alize be pressured to make some life-altering choices concerning the two men they have chosen before it is too late? I didn't know what to expect from this book, but it turned out really good. I loved watching the sisters Kay-Kay and Alize grow, despite the tragedy that they've faced. I also liked that when Kay-Kay woke up and realized that she didn't need Choppa like she thought she would she went her separate way. The only thing I wish happened was that Kay-Kay would have gotten out her line of business and followed the footsteps in her younger sister...It just goes to prove that younger does not mean dumber.
