Rate this book
Davy doesn’t let Down Syndrome stop him from living a normal life but when one of his hikes in the mountains brings him too close to a subterranean creature, ulasiga, the mind controlling creature uses Davy’s love of children to send him on a mission. The ulasiga projects the dark underground as a safe haven for abused children. It uses this to send Davy out to bring him this endless supply of food. Justin knows another beating is coming, he can hear it in his drunken mother’s voice. His decision to go with the nice man to a safe place may have come too late. Even if he escapes the whipping, he may end up as dinner for the dark creature.

Absolutely amazing

I really enjoyed this book. Felt like I was reading a Dean Koonz story! It was such a wonderful story about the simplicity of love really. And having the main characters with Down syndrome was just brilliant. I absolutely loved this book.

Glenn Oliver Parkhurst
the Ulasiga

Glenn Parkhurst is fast becoming one of my favorite horror writers. His ability to create a unique, suspenseful thriller with that perfect touch of horror is the mark of a true artist.

The Ulasiga seems, at first look, the story of a young man living with Downes Syndrome, which in itself is a fine story. The fact Mr. Parkhurst chose the main character to have this genetic affliction brings deeper meaning into this tale of horror.

Horror prevails as an ancient 'monster', who dwells within a cave, reaches out to our young hero. It is a tale friendships, courage, and understanding woven within the most terrifying of circumstances.

I gave this book a 5 star rating due to the fact it was refreshingly creative, providing the reader understanding of those who are different along with terrorizing the mind.

A subterranean creature controlled by the ulasiga is able to control Davy. It doesn't matter that Davy is suffering from Down Syndrome. He recognizes when children are suffering from abuse and other problems. It is up to him to bring him to the a safe haven provided by ulasiga.

The safe haven may be more dangerous then another beating.
