About Me I believes the only thing sexier than a man in cowboy boots is two, or three men in cowboy boots. I also believes in love at first sight, soul mates, true love, and happy endings.
I live in the great Northwest region of the USA, with my gorgeous husband and soul mate, two boxer/collie puppies, one old biddy cats, and three fish. When I'm not being a mother to my six teenagers or cleaning up after my two 70 pound lap puppies, you can usually find me cuddled in bed with a book in my hand and a puppy in my lap. Or on my laptop, creating the next sexy man for one of my stories.
I welcomes comments from readers, so drop me a line. stormyglenn@hotmail.com
What do I do ? I'm a writer of erotic, paranormal, werewolf, futuristic, contemporary, gay, and Ménage a Trois romances. I'm currently published with Siren Publishing, Torquere Press, and Noble Ellora's Cave.
I enjoyed this because Marrik and Boy were such a sweet Master/pet couple. I have to wonder if there will be more to follow though because we never really learned why Boy was being hunted or what made his blood so special. And more importantly, what was Boy's real name?? When Marrik told Boy he could call Marrik by his first name (Remsen), it would have been the perfect time for Boy to tell Marrik what his birth name was (I mean surely he could remember since Boy wasn't sold as a pet until he was 21).
This is set in the "future." You know, the one where 21st century phones are considered out-dated but everyone apparently still drives sedans and motorcycles. It just didn't seem very futurey :/ I would have liked this better if this was an alternate Earth, but still present day. Also, the issue with his blood was never made very clear. Why did the -bad guy- want it? Just because it was sweet? Was that really it? Also, why was Boy so dead set against returning to his parents?
It was a cute short read, but it has some definite room for more
In a rather bleak vision of the future, with vampires basically having taken over the world and humans serving as blood slaves, the story of Marrik and his new pet, Boy, offers an odd ray of light and hope that some form of love may have survived. Against the background of a 'Dom War', these two find each other and discover there is much more to their relationship than either one of them expected. The resulting adjustment is huge, and so is the interference from outside forces. Luckily, Marrik is as determined as he is dominant and will not accept anyone touching Boy.
Boy is hunted for his sweet tasting blood, and is in desperate need of protection. When his old master is killed by Hunters, he flees and manages to survive until he finds Marrik, the man his ownership papers say he was 'transferred' to. As submissive as Boy has been trained to be, he has a core of strength and a will to survive that enable him to keep up not only with his new Master, but help him fight their enemies.
Marrik has never really thought about a permanent pet. His life consists of the occasional encounter until Boy presents himself. There is an underlying need to protect Boy which Marrik cannot explain. The gradual reveal of what is really going on, both between him and Boy and in terms of Marrik's enemies, is the main part of this story. Well, that and the hot sexual encounters the two of them have.
If you like vampires, if you enjoy a futuristic setting that is somewhat bleak, and if a Master/slave relationship evolving into a different form of two men sharing their lives sounds interesting, you may like this book.
I more skimmed through this than really read it. It was short and cute, and the sex was nice, as Stormy Glen usually manages. The romance was sappy and quick, but then this is pretty short, so to be expected. Not bad, all in all. I thought it was annoying that the boy was called Boy, but otherwise the book was fairly entertaining.
This novel was set in a future where there are vampires. And they're "doms!" (However, this books has barely any BDSM in it, so be aware of that.) It left a lot of loose ends and never revealed why Boy is special. It felt like it was a setup for a series of some kind, but as far as I can tell, this is a standalone. It was an entertaining read, but just "okay" for me.
I really enjoyed it. I found a few errors & at one point Marrik's name was spelled wrong & I wished it explained more, but other than that I really couldn't put it down. I finished it in one sitting.
