Cadeon Ashwood is a dominant man who has one problem: he’s overly possessive. When he meets Violet Moore for the first time, he knows she is the woman for him. The possessive instinct she stirs within him can only mean one thing—she will be the woman who owns his heart.
Violet is a shy young woman who is trying to make her way in the world, but she has a dark past filled with shame. She is constantly looking over her shoulder.
When Cadeon sees an opportunity to get close to the younger woman, he takes it with everything he’s got. She drives him crazy with the way she bows her head, and her innocent blushing makes Cadeon want her more.
For too long she’s lived without love and safety. Cadeon offers her everything, but will she live long enough to enjoy it?
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
I wanted to like this book a little more, but Violet is too much of a doormat. I understand where her fear and timidity stems from but there was absolutely no fight in her. Whatever Cadeon wanted, Cadeon got.
"Come here." "Okay." "You're coming home with me." "Why?" "Because I said so." "Alright." "You're sleeping in my bed with me." "It's not appropriate." "So? It's what I want." "Okay." "Take off your panties." "I need those." "We're playing by my rules." hands over panties
And Cadeon. It's incredibly obvious that Violet is extremely innocent but the man can't even control himself enough to properly court the girl. I don't care how rich he is, at 40 years of age, he should have better self-control and more consideration when going after this young woman.
I found both characters to be so off-putting that I didn't really care about the sex scenes. She just seemed manipulated in all of them anyway. Other readers will enjoy this story more. It just wasn't my cup of tea.
Wow I guess I know my limits now. I don't like when sex is about pain and making someone else suffer. No way would a virgin woman exposed to what she has been exposed to would go from virgin to submissive in like two short weeks. I don't judge what others enjoy in the bedroom but man whips and bdsm clubs? Just after you pop her cherry!? I am not buying it. Also, what happened to the voice of her mother? Just lust took over and it's gone? What? It was not a bad book just the events were just too much for me. As a read I felt like he was the only one getting what he wanted out of their relationship. I don't understand the whole fascination with bdsm in books lately it's kind of gross when their is no real love story! This is one of them : Just a guy getting off on hurting and owning a girl while she has is too naive to know she is just a slave and a sex toy. What's the fun in that? Love has nothing to do with their relationship it's about owning someone I guess I will not read any more from this series by Sam Crescent. Owners are not my thing.

I liked this book. Yes, it was totally unbelievable and there wasn't much character development or build-up. Normally, that would drive me crazy and I'd lose interest. In this case, I liked the characters and the story enough, despite all that, to keep reading. It wasn't an epic love story and I didn't expect it to be. It was a hot, sexy, erotic tale, featuring an uber-alpha male and a stereotypical damsel in distress. It was an easy, quick and entertaining read. Guilty pleasure...and I liked it!
Sweet & tender, dark & heavy. That's how I would describe it. In common with Sam's shorter stories the fact that it is an easy read. You just want to keep reading! Sometimes a bit surprising with the hero's moods though. The next stories about the owners can't come too soon (maybe with a little more action!?)
Cadeon Ashwood is overly possessive and when he meets Violet he knows she is the woman for him. The possessive instinct she stirs within him drives him out of his mind. Could she be the one to take his heart ...
Violet is a shy young woman and she has a dark past filled with shame. She lives in constant fear of being found so she tries to live mingling in without standing out in the crowd.
When Cadeon sees an opportunity to get close, he takes it with everything he’s got. But the past always comes back around and if Cadeon doesn't hurry will he be able to save Violet from a terrible future ...
It's the first time for me reading such a thing ... owning your woman, obeying willingly every "command" that your man gives, in and out of bed. I don't know if I could pull it off but I'm certain that there are women that wouldn't mind. Sam Crescent has a way of describing this men, a way of making them attractive to our eyes and wanting to find someone with this possessiveness and this perceptiveness of what's best for you, making you feel like a queen. Good for her, I love the way she writes, the pages flow and when I realize, the book has ended.
Cadeon is as Alpha as it gets. He is overly possessive and knows well to separate his sex life from what goes in his heart. Because he knows that it's not easy to find a woman that would obey him in his every word but he hasn't found any woman that would rise the feeling of owning her and sending him over the edge. As to Cadeon my feelings where split apart. He could be such an arrogant male and at the same time make me feel through words the desire for his hands to touch me, for his thoughts to fill my head. Yes, this is how good M. Crescent did her job! The fact that I can read a book and still as I write this review remember how Cadeon spoke and acted, well no more explanations are needed.
Violet was the opposite. I liked and understood the hurt, the loneliness, the fear, but I didn't forge a strong link with this character. I like spit fire women, and even as impossible that this character were to be strong, she could have been a little braver and fight Cadeon on his will a little more. She does redeem herself in the end with Dominic but only because she knows that Cadeon will stop at nothing to get her back.
The story was good and I never lost myself in the action thread but I think that there should of been a little more space for the bad guys, their contribution to the story could have been longer.
Overall I did like this book and I followed on the next story, this could only get better right ?
Good premise book. Successful and rich CEO sees low level female employee instantly knowing she's his perfect match. But said girl doesn't want anything to do with him. It's up to Cadeon to change her mind without having her run from him and disappear before he's had a chance to claim her.
As always this author has a good premise book. It starts out strong and compelling full of suspense, sexual action, and the promise of a really good story line. Unfortunately it didn't deliver that for me. Too many inconsistencies and use of events that seemed more inserted into the book than a natural progression or flow to the story itself made this stilted and awkward. An example of the inconsistencies is when Violet is at Cadeon's house and has a visitor. The visitor is not welcome but Violet is polite and agrees to let this person in. So the housekeeper walks in and doesn't insist this person leave and goes to make tea for the both of them. Magically in the next paragraph Violet is sipping tea that's on the table which hasn't been delivered yet. And a later scene where the main characters are at a BDSM club and Cadeon informs Violet she'll have to sign a confidentiality contract when they're going there, but when they arrive they walk right in to the club and go to the bar. It's those types of things that I as a reader notice and take issue with. Along with this is the sexual/erotica scenes. This is a BDSM book and they have several play scenes as he is an experienced Dom and even has a 'playroom' in his house. But. No safeword is ever offered or addressed to newbie Violet and that's just not something I could forgive not being included or addressed. I could overlook the lack of blood testing for either of them prior to any sexual scenes and I could overlook the lack of thinking about contraceptive use (pill) being considered at as they didn't have sex for a significant time of living together before actually having sex. I can even overlook why a VIP member in an exclusive club has to pay cash and only cash for his drinks at said club but no safeword, no. I really think a beta reader or good editor could have helped to make this the terrific read it could have been but for me it was good but not to the point that I'm looking forward to a follow-up series book arising from this.
I really wanted to like this story, but I just couldn't connect with the characters and their situation. What Violet thought of as protective or possessive in a good way from Cadeon came across as pushy and forceful. I found myself confused quite a few times as sentences became repetitive and stilted. Scenes would move quickly from one to the next and then have a moment of fluidity before moving quickly again. The dialogue is a bit awkward and there is a serious need for editing throughout the story.
“I looked at you, and my world fell apart. I knew I wanted you, and I’d do anything to get you. You feel this?” He placed her hand over his heart. “It beats for no one but you.” '
Not sure what to think of the book. Sometimes I felt it wasn't getting to the whole point of the story quick enough. and sometimes I just felt bored with the characters...
don't get me wrong, the chemistry is HOT, and the romance is good, but I couldn't keep my head in it.
Right from the first moment Cadeon Ashwood sees Violet Moore working for his company he wants her. Violet is a shy and introverted young woman, but she enjoys her job delivering the post and coffees. She has no idea that her boss intends to make her his.
For the most part I liked this. Cadeon literally steamrolled Violet into doing his bidding. There was some added extra interest from a danger to Violet from her past. The sex scenes were okay. But there were a lot of typos which rather interfered with the flow of the story.
I didn't really care for the characters in this novel. They didn't really seem to have an emotional bond like the other characters that are in Sam Crescents other novels. I felt the hero wasn't really into the heroine, he just wanted her as a 'possession'.
This book, Wow, very good, had some action, love affair from an older man to a younger girl, domanance and possessiveness. Even though there were things that from a strong woman will not tolerate but Violet felt good for Cadeon. Don't get me wrong I love a strong man that knows what he wants and desires to posses. But there were part of this book that I was saying to myself WTF; example, After he feed her strawberries, he tells her to open her mouth to make sure she ate them, hmm or when she raised her voice, he tells her remember I am your master again I say WTF; I understand that Violet had a very sad upbringing but from where she came from to where she was getting in was a total confusion for her. She do love Cadeon but I also think she was scared of him. He did say he was a DOM but for her it was hard for her grasp. I felt bad for Violet, because she did not know what she was getting into. I am so glad that Jackass Dominic Green was killed, that F*(*&&& should had been Chained up by his Balls and tortured little by little to what he did to all the woman and children he was trafficking. But at the end finally Cadeon has the woman that he loved the moment he saw her, it was a truly good book, even though the minor things that I just express. Lovely book to Ms. Crescent, very interesting topic. Please tell me there is a book for Sean, I want to read something about him, please, he has my heart even that he has that scar. I applaud. Bravo.
This is yet another book that Sam Crescent did a great job with, I was hooked within the first few pages and really connected with the characters. When Cadeon first met Violet he knew she had to be his, but Violet has a devastating past and is in hiding from people who want to harm her. Cadeon will make sure to do everything in his power to not only protect Violet but to make her his . I really liked this book, I have read several books by Sam Crescent and this is one of my favorites. I loved all the characters in this book and got swept away in the story not wanting it to end. Cadeon was another typical and great hero by Sam. This is a great start to a new series.
Hmmm I have two things to say about the book, I love it story-wise, but the one problem I have is with how the author write the story or how the story is being told. 75% of the book was great written but the other part I felt that the way it was told was sometimes cut and doesn't finish relating the scenes. it sometimes jumps from one scene to the other too fast. And I expected more at the ending, not like a page to tell yeah he got her and then the bad guy is dead, its like a lot of the story is being cut to quickly to tell the next scene.
I find this to be one of my favorite books that Sam has to offer. I really enjoyed the little bit of BDSM that was there and hope that with the coming books in this series she will explore it a bit more.
Ok so this dude is way crazy, so i am going to put this on hold for now, 12% in and i cannot quite deal with his ideas of possession.. tbr in the future i think.
I finished it. This story had a great idea...a great story line, interesting characters and intriguing back stories....But the timing on this story kept rearing it's ugly head and all I kept saying to myself is, 'no one would really say that,' and 'why not do this or that.'
What would have helped? A longer beginning....at one point a year goes by but there is not alot of explanation as to why...it doesn't make sense, And the hero kept saying he is a 'Possessive' man but I think what he meant was a 'Dominate' man? He belonged to a club where men who were 'Possessive' and were in committed relationships with one person could go to be with other men who were 'Possessive' and were in committed relationships....???? (Cadeon's friend, Stephen Knox is the wealthy owner of the exclusive gentleman’s club, Possession. A club where men feel the utmost possession for their women.) And He also belonged to some BDSM clubs but had not been there in a long time.
The heroine is supposed to be submissive and on the lamb....but she seems to just accept that the hero basically kidnaps her and won't let her be alone again and moves her, forcibly, into his house...and she kinda just goes along with it....alot of missed opportunities here. Twenty pages later during sex they are declaring their love for each other....they hardly know each other....she does not even know what he wants with her....???? And after discovering his "Room" upstairs she is convinced he only wants to use her for the time being.
What was a fantastic part of this is the heroine's youth and growing up, her mom was a prostitute and did work with drug running. The heroine was kept hidden from her business but was considered property by the gangster who pimped her mother. She never really had gifts or possessions and the one thing the hero gives her is a fully loaded ereader....(I have to admit...that is a pretty good gift) She treasures this gift not having received many gifts before. And what else is she going to do since he won't let her work and can't leave his side? But her story was interesting and heartbreaking.
The dangerous thug/pimp captures the heroine, she is saved by the hero and his friends, they get married and live happily ever after visiting his club in the epilogue. It needs more meat.
This novel needed another hundred pages and some connection between the hero and heroine except the sexual connection.

So this book left me feeling kind of mixed. I liked it but at times I just thought the quality was pretty poor.
Some of it was literally just facts stated.
She was gorgeous. In an instant, I knew she was mine. My soulmate. Her hair was brown and her eyes were nice to. I really like her and she is sweet and funny and mysterious. And we've only spoken once.
That was the kind of thoughts running through Caedon's mind. In the prologue he saw her and with the magic of instalove her knew she was the one. And he makes a promise to himself that he would make her his.
And then chapter one starts a year later. Hold up...what?
A lot of it I found pretty unrealistic and unbelievable. I don't kid when I say a child could have wrote this. A filthy naughty little child, but the level of writing isn't very good. So if you plan on reading this, it should purely be based on enjoyment.
Somethings were overdone and Violet was like a blushing school girl 70% of the time. No different from YA books but even they have more spunk. But there are reasons...
It's funny because everytime Cadeon goes like this :
Violet acts like this :
I have no qualms with the characters apart from they lacked depth and substance and could've been amazing. If you like you're alpha males then this is a no brainer :)
This pretty much sums it all up, the bad writing but the good plot :p
I just finished the EXCELLENT 'The Skulls' series by Sam Crescent and decided to read another series by Sam Crescent. Sorry to say, His Possession was not as exciting as 'The Skulls'. This is the story of Cadeon (billionaire, dominant, employer) and Violet (poor, shy, submissive, employee, who has a secret past). Cadeon was instantly attracted to Violet and took over her life completely. While I found the relationship storyline interesting, the drama with the secret past did not work for me. This did not hold all of the excitement and drama that I expected. I'm not sure if I will continue reading 'The Owners' series. I may read the second installment, just to see if I like it better.
Sam Crescent has a way of portraying Dominant men and submissive women that hit both the good and bad buttons in my psyche...................I think what really pushed me away from giving a better rating was the lack of personality in Violet and Cadeon’s insistence to take away everything (no work, no friends, and no contact with anyone); it just doesn’t sit right with me.
I will be reading more from Sam Crescent, just because I can’t get enough of that Alpha man he is good for!
"I love you, Violet. I looked at you and my world fell dawn. I knew I want you, I'd do anything to get you. Can you feel this?" Cadeon
Nah, begitulah ketika Cadeon, pria berumur 40 thn, kaya raya, tampan, dominan, gila kontrol, posesif bgt, mengungkapkan perasaannya ke Violet, wanita yg tadinya hanya karyawannya, muda belia, virgin in everyway, blushing in many times, pemalu. Dan Cadeon sudah menahan perasaanya sejak their first met di lift kantornya, selama 1 tahun. Tapi, pas Violet jadi miliknya, well...don't ever dare touch my woman! :D
I can't believe that trees (which give us LIFE) were cut down to produce this "book"! usually I respect anyone who writes their thoughts out and gives it to the world, but this book just wasted time that I could have been using to do something more pleasant (like watching paint dry or grass grow) the writing was clunky, confusing (like using british slang with an american character and forgetting that the uk has free healthcare) and just plain sporadic! like the author literally used predictive text to write!
