I received this book from the author for an honest review.
That being said, this young adult paranormal thriller had at me at the get-go! Right from the beginning, it was easy to see there was something special and different about Lilly, but the author did a great job of adding just enough foreshadowing to build suspense without giving anything away. I found it easy to relate with Lilly, to empathize with her many different situations, and to want to save her! The author perfectly depicts the setting of Paradise End and high school life in a town that is loaded with mystery and intrigue. After the conflict was resolved, numerous questions were presented to lure the reader into the next book. There were bits and pieces near the end that I found a tad confusing. There was a lot of information and back-story to process and organize, not to mention I am still a little up in the air about whether some of the characters are on the side of good or evil. I assume that was intentional, and it worked! I have my own theories and will definitely tune in for the next one! Nicely done!

'Death Lilly' has been on my wish list since its release, but unfortunately I have been too busy reviewing to read the book. So, I was so excited when Rebecca Nolan chose me to receive a copy in exchange for an honest review, and when I opened the book on my Kindle and entered the hidden depths of the dark and twisted world she had created I knew I was not going to be disappointed by her writing.
'Death Lilly' opens, not with the book's main character, but Jude. He is introduced as someone to fear, yet his role in Lilly's life certainly becomes more obscure. As a reader I wished there had been more of him and I hope he follows Lilly into the sequel.
When the reader meets Lilly she is an innocent by happy 18 year old, living with her grandmother, after the tragic loss of her mother. However, enter Jude and her life spins into turmoil once again as she loses her grandmother. This time her grief threatens to overwhelm her and after a spell in a psychiatric hospital she has to go to live with her only remaining family member, Uncle Stewart in Paradise End. It is here that Lilly's innocence begins to disappear as Uncle Stewart places her in the care of Cayn and his 'group' - she begins to reach her romantic maturity and ultimately her sexual one before having to be forced to fight for her life,
'Death Lilly' begins at a slow and steady pace, but is certainly intoxicating to its reader, however there is always an undercurrent of evil, which Rebecca Nolan controls and builds until the book's phenomenal crescendo.
There are certainly unanswered questions left open which is a clever tactic of the author, as if the reader is not anticipating the sequel enough!
I would suggest that 'Death Lilly' is aimed at the maturer end of the YA readership, merely because of its subject matter, but I would certainly recommend it to all fans of paranormal fiction. Go out and read it now but make sure you have a clear few hours before you start!!!

I purchased this book three days after it came out, and it was a mistake not reading it right away. Truthfully, I really enjoyed it, and look forward to the sequel Blood Lilly.

Wow! Where do I start? Before I began this book, I read the blurb and knew it was a young adult paranormal novel, but the way author Rebecca Nolan unraveled the event had me biting my nails wondering who to trust and what really bad things were going to happen.

In the first few pages, I met Lilly Vale, the book’s 18 year old heroin. Although her life is happy, she dreams of death and torture regularly but it isn’t until the unthinkable death of her grandmother and their neighbor that Lilly spirals out of control and into a deep depression. Her only known relative, Uncle Stewart, brings her to his home to live, in the new town of Paradise End. The name of the town seems to suit it because Lilly finds a sort of refuge, new friends, and love with a boyfriend for the first time. She is generally once again happy.

But looks can be deceiving. Her friends and boyfriend aren’t what they seem and everyone wants something different from her. She doesn’t realize this at first, but little hints are dropped throughout the book that all lead up to the end, where after being lied to and manipulated, Lilly must choose a new course to save herself. But with everyone keeping secrets, it’s hard to know, which choice is right.

I found the book refreshing and a quick read. The characters were well developed and I easily felt like I was in Lilly’s head.

Death Lilly is Rebecca Nolan’s debut novel. It was offered to me as a gift from Rebecca for an honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend you pick up your copy today.

Death Lilly was a nice story, It began as lilly lived with her beloved gradmother. On her 18th birthday her grandmother was murdered, Lilly had a hard time understanding that she died so her uncle put her in a mental hospital. her uncle brought Lilly to a town far away from what she knew and loved. She made friends fast, in fact her uncle introduced her to Cayn on her first day of school and from then on the were together as boyfriend and girlfriend. As time went on Lilly started getting strange feelings about the others. There were secrets with her friends and she didnt know it, but hell was just about to come knocking on her door! I loved this book Lilly was such a good character the writer made Lilly loveable. Theres nothing I would change about this book it was well put together.

I absolutely loved this book. Lilly Vale is one of those characters that, at least for me, I wanted to smack a little on occasion. "Hey, Lilly, don't do that... no, don't go in that room, WATCH OUT!" There were some parts that were real nail biting, others that were sweet, and a few that made me laugh out loud. Overall a great read, and I am looking forward to the sequel.

Ok, Death Lilly was really good! Wish I had known it was a series book going in because now I am left desperately needing the next book. Aside from a few errors here and there, it was a smooth read. If you enjoy Angel/Demon Paranormal you will really enjoy this book.

Lilly Vale is just an average girl, living in a tiny apartment in a rundown complex with her beloved Grandmamma. Although they often struggle get by, Lilly is blessed with the unconditional love of her grandmother and lives a happy, yet uneventful, life. For all the love and happiness she has during her waking hours, she is plagued by blood drenched nightmares almost every night. When her Grandmamma succumbs to a senseless act of violence, Lily is uprooted and must begin life again in a place she has never been, Paradise End, living with her uncle who is little more than a stranger. In Paradise End, Lilly unexpectedly becomes the most popular girl in school, and the coveted trophy girlfriend of the most desirable guy in town, Cayn. As happy as she is, it seems impossible for Lilly to escape her nightmares, nor the memory of the friend she left behind in Jude. Lilly cannot stop thinking there is more to her new group of friends and her shady boyfriend. Secrets of her mother’s death encircle her and everyone seems to know more than her. Will Lilly ever discover the secrets of Paradise End? Will the truth set her free or condemn her to the realm of her nightmares?
Rebecca Nolan has crafted an intriguing character in Lilly Vale and delivers an impressive read in “Death Lilly”, her debut novel. While I generally do not read the Young Adult genre, I found this story to immersive and the characters entrancing. Lilly’s naivety often gets her into trouble, but it is her brains and heart that gets her out of it. Like the rest of us, Lilly has to figure out life as it comes. This realism makes Lilly a character to care about, to root for, and hurt with. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the sequel “Blood Lilly”. Lilly Vale is certainly no shrinking violet and I will certainly be buying Ms. Nolan’s next novel.

Interesting and new take for a paranormal novel. I enjoyed the characters and the plot was interesting with loads of action towards the end. I really can't wait until the next in the series comes out.
