Jim and Jason Tanner agree they want a third in their relationship, but have never been able to find the right man. When Ager begins working at Deadzone, they know that they’ve found their match. He’s smart, funny, and adorable in a way that should be illegal in at least four sectors. Jana Downs lives in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina with three cats, one dog, several dozen fish, and a very understanding partner-in-crime who hates to read but makes exceptions for her stories.

You can usually find her either watching bad reality TV, buying way too many books on Amazon, or dreaming up another man or two to occupy her time because life is good but several drop-dead gorgeous nonexistent men is just better.

I loved this book! It was a quick, funny, fluffy read, which is what I was looking for. I also enjoyed the interesting take on zombies. Most zombie novels and movies focus on the outbreak or the immediate aftermath, or the fall of civilization. This book however is set 75 years after the outbreak in a world that continues on, except now we live in a world not only aware of zombies, but in a world where zombies are a part of life. Heck, they even sell insurance for zombie attacks. This is a fascinating world, and I can't wait to read more books set in it. I also love the jokes and funny lines. I now have several new favorite quotes:

“Of course I didn’t, Jim. How could you think that? He was just so damn beautiful sitting there with his cheeks stuffed like a chipmunk’s.”

Ager hesitated. This was an unusual situation. “Can I get to know the two of you a little more first? I don’t want to jump into this just because you get me hard.”

I loved it! I can't wait to read Brooklyn's story and Jack's. If you're looking for a quick and funny zombie read, I definitely recommend giving Working Stiffs a read.

Interesting idea for a new series, sort of a mix between paranormal/horror (the zombie threat) and sci-fi. There is a variety of zombies, and the explanation for how they originated is quite interesting. The fact is that this is story set in a post-apocalyptic America and as such has a different set of rules people live by. Part of the fascination of this first book is finding out how it all hangs together and what some of the pitfalls are.

The characters are definitely fun and while not too deeply developed, were interesting enough to keep me reading. The married couple and company owners, Jason and Jim, taking an interest in one of their employees, Ager, as a third for their relationship added some spice and made for a few very hot scenes as hey got to know each other. Adding the sense of danger as they go on a mission to fight zombies provided the tension, while the idea of 'zombie insurance' and the way people deal with this new threat made me laugh. It is so typical of how corporate America would deal with it, seeing it almost overdone to this degree made it humorous for me.

If you're looking for a 'light horror read' with some hot men and lots of 'sexy distractions' in-between all the shooting and adventure, you may like this novel.

This was unexpectedly good! I'm not a fan of the big age gap but I could over look it as the rest of the book was so enjoyable

Ager works at Deadzone, an insurance company that takes care of ‘all your Zombie needs’ including disposal of a zombie outbreak. Ager fantasies about his boss, Jim and on occasion Jim’s husband, Jason, but he never truly dared hope that he would ever catch either of their eyes, especially seeing as they are happily married. Jim and Jason have had their eyes on Ager since he started working for them, but have held off for the right time. Now, in the middle of a zombie outbreak, Jason is impatient and rushes things, but he is lucky, as Aga is receptive. Now, all they have to do is get out of sector seven alive.

This has got to be one of the best zombie stories that I have come across. I thought the characters were brilliant, the world building was great and the plot was really interesting. Ager is terrified of zombies, his dad worked for the UMF (United Military Forces) and sat on his balcony shooting zombies that strayed too close for the fun of it. But, it left Ager scarred and now Ager is quite happy to stay in his nice safe zone, in his nice safe job and not have to see a zombie ever again. Well, that is until his bosses ask him to go to Sector 7 with them. Both Jim and Jason own Deadzone and they have the perfect marriage, but they long for a third. Both are positive that Ager is that third and want to ease him in gently, but being in Sector 7 puts a rush on their relationship.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I cracked open this book, but it sure was a treat. Jana Downs has created a world in the future where a military experiment went wrong and they are now plagued with zombies and not just the run of the mill ‘brains brains’ zombies, no she has also given us second level Necros and Necro-Kings who are more cunning in their hunt for ‘food’. Ager, Jim and Jason find themselves cut off and hunted by these zombies and it is a trek for their lives, to get to a safe zone before they are caught. Ager has to let go of a lot of his fears and Jason comes to a realization about his active role in ‘clean-ups’. And Jim realizes that he isn’t cut out for field work anymore.

The progression of the story is great and yes, the sex is extremely hot and even though it might seem quick, it didn’t really feel quick because although they have just got together, they have all been sniffing around each other. Each man has to face something personal to them, Ager’s is the toughest to confront, as it is not just fear. Jim and Jason’s is more of facing the truth and accepting their limitations.

So, with this one, I will recommend it to those who love zombies, three hot men, hot sex, a run for your life, some slight betrayal, a bloody battle against zombies and a very sweet and happy ending.

First time I've read this author.. must say was interesting.. I did LIKE this book but it's definitely NOT a light read for me. Reminded me too much of Resident Evil (which I actually do like, thou I avoid most scary movies) So, I liked it but it did freak me out. I will have to decide when the next book comes out if i want to continue and see what progresses.

I think it was about time that an author took on zombie romance. I have to say that Jana Downs did it well. It was thought out, action packed, and somehow still cute.

Zombies and menage, what's not to like? It's not a great read, but it's fun, and that's what matters to me.

Review: The first time I read this book about life after a global pandemic wipes out most of civilization and turns the infected into zombies I enjoyed it and read the entire series. Rereading it now during a real-life global pandemic was surreal and scarier than the first time. Luckily, the surprisingly well-rounded characters having lots of sex while running for their lives from smart zombies was still an entertaining read.

I loved this! Its set in such an interesting new world, where the walking dead have taken over whole disttricts which have become no go areas for the living - I dont want to go into too much detail, you'll just have to read the book yourself lol.

I'm really hoping theres a second book in the series coming up - this is a world I want to see more of.

3.5 stars. This was surprisingly good! Zombies have never really been that interesting to me, but this definitely got my full attention. I hope the next book is about Brooklyn.

The cover does not do this book justice. I feel like Working Stiffs is fluff dressed in leather and deadly weaponry. Minimal angst. Decent suspense from the zombies. High heat from the triad. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a low angst book with a poly group.

The best part was how the author set the story in the time after the initial outbreak occurred. The whole zombies as a hazard like tornadoes or something similar. Very unique.

This story was great. I had so much fun reading it. Three hot men, unique zombies and a sector falling combined to make this book unique and action packed.

I absolutely loved the three main characters. They each had a personality that complimented the other two. I also loved how not all the zombies were mindless eating machines. Having some with thinking capabilities changed the whole zombie outlook of the book.

The biggest thing I can say about this book is that I will read it again and can’t wait to read more of the series.

Что-то мне прям очень понравилось. Хотя, может из-за зомби-апокалипсиса, я к нему питаю слабость.
В целом, вполне приличное чтение. Тройничок очень гладенький, секса много, зомби зомбячные, чего еще надо? :)

I was kind of leery of the whole "zombie" theme, but I actually enjoyed this book more than I was expecting to!

Definitely zombie-lite. Also, I always have difficulty accepting that a person with broken (not just cracked) ribs has sex. The pain would be off the charts.

Sorry. Read as far as page 30 and couldn't continue. The characters and the setup just didn't draw me in. And as someone who's personally experienced being a third in a such a relationship, it wasn't all it's cracked up to be.
