Beckwiths book will delight anyone interested in seeing more and learning more about this great horse and will allow readers to experience the excitement of Seabiscuit as the story unfolded and in the words of those who were thereCharles S. Howard, Tom Smith, Red Pollard, and George Woolf.
I remember hearing about Seabiscut as a young child, my grandmother told me stories about him and what a great horse he was, she saw him once on the California ranch. Reading this story now brought tears to my eyes, what a great heart he had, not many this day and age can follow him except Secretariat who I watched on TV ride to victory on all three of his races to win the Triple Crown. Reading this book now and I'm age 63 brought back so many good memories.
Originally published in 1940, the book tells the story of Seabiscuit in the words of his time, with all the joy and inspiration the little, determined racehorse evoked.
