Clare took the pen name London from the city where she lives, loves, and writes. A lone, brave female in a frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home, she juggles her writing with her other day job as an accountant. She’s written in many genres and across many settings, with award-winning novels and short stories published both online and in print. She says she likes variety in her writing while friends say she’s just fickle, but as long as both theories spawn good fiction, she’s happy. Most of her work features male/male romance and drama with a healthy serving of physical passion, as she enjoys both reading and writing about strong, sympathetic and sexy characters.

Clare currently has several novels sulking at that tricky chapter 3 stage and plenty of other projects in mind . . . she just has to find out where she left them in that frenetic, testosterone-fuelled family home.

All the details and free fiction are available at her website. Visit her today and say hello!

Clare also writes as Stella Shaw and launched a new series of rent boy romances in 2021.

Plain and simple, I am giving this story an A because it made me laugh, out loud. Nick is definitely a city boy and his way of describing his love of diesel fumes and the smell of the hot pavement in the city was chuckle-worthy. Really, those things are appealing? Why yes they are, to Nick. It’s only his sheer lust for IT guy Max that induces him to agree to go camping with the man, in the country no less.

I do like camping, at least I used to, but Nick’s disorientation as he awoke to the sound of crows, not the traffic, and the utter collapse of his tent, well, the descriptions the author brings forth had me laughing out loud. I have to confess, I am one of those people who will laugh at other’s misfortunes (if they aren’t injury inducing – and maybe even then if the injury is mild) and I laughed at poor Nick and his sad tent.

After that, Nick rather settles down to enjoy his day in the country with Max, much to his surprise, leading to that moment when they finally acknowledge their simmering attraction and their agreed sharing of a tent since Nick’s is pretty much buggered up do to the collapse. It was just funny and sweet and you know these two guys are going to have fun, being two rather opposite souls, but perhaps able to appreciate the world they each find appealing. So when you are in the mood to come away smiling, snap up this freebie and take a few minutes to lighten your day, at poor Nick’s expense. :-)

Nick is an insufferable city dweller. He is definitely not the outdoorsy type, but he has his eye on a coworker Max. Max is the IT guy, and Nick's female coworker is intent upon using her matchmaking skills to set the couple up. She repeatedly stages computer failures in Nick's cubicle so that Max will have to come and repair the damage.

Finally Max asks Nick out, but his invitation is to spend a weekend camping in the great outdoors. Nick hates the idea, but he doesn't want to pass up an opportunity to finally go out with this guy he's been crushing on.

Once alone in the wilderness with Max, it is obvious to both of them that Nick is not cut out for camping. He cannot even get his tent set up properly, and he's wearing Pokeman boxer shorts.

This is a fun short story that depicts the pitfalls of a city boy/country boy romance. It was comical and sexy, a delightful romp.

Super short and super sweet M/M tale. Two Brit coworkers, Matt, tanned and fresh-faced from the West Country, and Nick, urban to the bone, are attracted to one another but neither have made any moves, until Matt invites Nick to go camping for a weekend. Any more than that and you won't need to read this.

My star rating isn't a reflection on the story, it's just so short it's hard to rate it on the same scale as a full novel. But I definitely recommend it! It's very sexy and funny.

Very cute, quick read.

It's very short, but a good read. I managed to get it while free, so no real complaints there. Nick & Max have the makings of an adorkable couple. This is a fun start & teaser for what they could be.

Funny and cute. It was too short though. I think if it had been a little longer we could get a better feel for the MCs. I did like it, just need more.

Just a quick light hearted story about City mouse meets Country Mouse.

Nick our city mouse here is a London boy, born and bred. But when he’s asked to go camping by cute country mouse, Max (the IT Guy) from the West Country. He decides that more should be tenting than just his trousers.

But when a tent collapse puts them both under the same canvas after a day of tiring outdoor activity, who knows what appetites will arise.

At only 15 pages, this is the literary equivalent of an amuse-bouche. Satisfying as it is, and enjoyable, but it just makes you crave more. The characters are likable and the tale is entertaining, and it’s got me curious about her longer works.

This is a short story about the first time camping outing of Nick and Max. They work together at the same company. Max is IT, and Nick just continually finds ways of “breaking” his computer so that Max has to come and fix it (well, with the help of his BFF Em, who is awesome). When Max ignores the girls to invite Nick camping, well, how can he say no? We are taken through the pitfalls of the city boy trying to adapt to the country (and impress the country boy), with misfortune and ultimate perfection. Nick? Clever. So cute.

This was very short. Thank you to Clare London for the free read - it was pretty cute. While it's near impossible to get any sort of character development in 15 pages, it was still a fun, quick read.

Eh.. not great. There just wasn't anything to it really. No angsty lead up to their relationship...And once they actually get together it was quite boring. We didn't actually get to see them do much of anything. I'm glad it was free...

Cute free story of opposites attract. It's very much a scene from a middle of a novel/novella that I would love to read.

This was a really nice free read, so thanks to Clare London for sharing it.
I loved the humour and the romance, and would have liked more, because I'm greedy when I get a good short story.
