Why did I enjoy this? The heroine was idiot – thinking her husband of three months was cheating on her with his cousin and then not telling him why she ran away when he asks her over and over again. The hero was idiot – he let the heroine stew for 7 months and then made his move by taking her on guided tours of Mexico City and being seen in the company of different women.

The misunderstanding was so flimsy that the author had to bulk up the story with heroine’s fledging dress designing career, the travelogue of Mexico City, an in depth description of bull-fighting , what the heroine was wearing each day. Yes, this heroine took grooming as seriously as any Helen Bianchin heroine.

Still, I read every word. I was lucky enough to chaperone a group of students on a class trip to Mexico City back in the 1980’s, so maybe I enjoyed the trip down memory lane.

This one wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The thing about this story is that the H, Raul, is an insensitive jerk who makes the h, Kati, feel like she's just one of many by flirting with and kissing other women in front of her. He also dresses up a lot other women who he appears to be dating (the majority of whom he kisses and whispers to intimately) in her clothing designs, and is constantly making comments about how hot he is and how everyone wants him. Just isn't compatible for a hot romance, eh?

Plus everybody (his dad, the OW) hates her and tries their damndest to make her feel unwelcome or being used by the H. Yes, the h is tainted with a big dose of ditzy, but with the picture the H paints, you can't completely blame her. Even though she is constantly overwhelmed with his hotness, which even thoughts of the OW can't overcome, she did leave his arse at the first sign that it was more than flirting and told him to suck rocks through much of the book.

The story does have long passages of nothing-interesting (unless you like travel brochures), but the H always eventually shows up to piss you off and gets the ragey emotions going again. Even though he chased after her and spouted the I-love-yous, he never did come across to me as anything other than a conceited asshat. Regarding the infidelity

In other words, this is a nice angry/angsty/cheater read, so if that's your thing, you've come to the right place.

Kati and Raul marry after a nine day affair. Their marriage lasts exactly three months after Raul heads home to Mexico City to spend Christmas with his father leaving his bride home alone in NYC. Unfortunately, it gets even worse when Kati calls down to Mexico City only to find that the woman she suspects her husband is having an affair with answers the phone. She leaves a message with OW asking him to call her back and patiently waits three days for his call. When he doesn't call back, she finally wakes up and decides to leave him. Seems Raul has a history of enjoying taunting Katie with his flirtations.

The story opens seven months later when she is planning a vacation to Mexico City deciding to combine a business trip with pleasure. Of course, it turns out that this whole trip is orchestrated by hubby in the attempt to reconcile.

Though the book opened strong, I quickly lost patience with the heroine's silly logic and a hero who left much to be desired. This was one of those ridiculous reads, that kept me turning the pages hoping that someone would do something worth reading about.

I would pass on this one. The story starts off with a bang, but quickly fizzles out.

A typical 'marriage in trouble' story where the misunderstanding doesn't get resolved till the end and 70 percent of the book gets tedious and both the Mcs start to seem ridiculous, in my opinion. Anyhow, the Mexican travelogue and it's bits of history were interesting but it was the heroine who kept doubting the Hero ALL the time and it started to put me off and I even skipped some pages... h is too jealous because of the dominant ow. Hero doesn't explain anything and there is alot about Mexico...and little romance.

When Kati went to Mexico to visit a local fashion designer, she never expected to run into her husband Raul. There union was a quick one and seven months ago they married and were in love. Until a woman showed up and Raul flirted openly with her. Kati feeling a bit insecure didn't complain but it always bothered her. Then at Christmas, Raul flew home to Mexico to visit with his father and when Kati called, the woman Raul openly flirted with answered the phone. That was the final straw. So Kati packed up and left him.

Now seven months later Kati is still working hard on her designs and when she runs into Raul, she is floored, bitter and sad. Her marriage with him never worked out and now he kept showing up, demanding to show her the sights. Not to mention the fact he was behaving like a dinosaur when she went out with another man. Raul tried controlling Kati by moving her into his and his fathers house and when t was too much Kati finally snapped.

Raul finally allowed Kati to go home to North Carolina on his jet and she asked him for a divorce, thinking he was going to marry his mistress. When Raul shows up at her door again, begging for her to give him a chance to explain.

The book was alright but I hate overpowering insecure men. It drives me nuts when a man has to force his way into a woman's life because she is "stubborn". It just really felt like the 1800's. I can't say I disliked the book completely but I certainly didn't love it!
