Great characters!

The heroine: Fiona - when her parents sold off their investments that they were planning to use to fund her college education and instead bought themselves a new house in Florida where they could become swingers and explore their sexuality, Fiona was forced to take out over a hundred thousand dollars in student loans. She now is struggling to pay her bills and working for a boss-hole who is exacting to say the least.
The Hero: Gareth - he is a defense lawyer whose ethics are morally gray and works for a lot of dangerous criminals. He courts crime families to get their business and expects his legal secretary to do exactly what he tells her. She is the sixth assistant he has had in the last year and has done a good job so far, but she is pretty new.
The Story: Gareth is meeting with the heads of the largest Irish crime family in Boston and he tells Fiona to stay out of the way since he is supposed to meet them alone. However, when she gets a call about an emergency and needs to leave immediately, she figures she has to let her boss know. Though the guys he is meeting with aren’t happy when she overhears them, Gareth introduces her as his wife.
I really like the fake marriage trope, though I just finished reading a book about the same trope and that one was really good, so I may have went into this one with lower expectations, since I figured it couldn’t be as good as the one I just finished. It did start out sounding a bit forced, but I liked the relationship between these two from the beginning and the differences such as the fact that Gareth thought Fiona was too young for him and Fiona thought Gareth was too old, even though they were only 10 years apart, and she did think he was hot.
The story was much different than the one I read previous to this, and it was a good one that held my interest throughout. I loved the mafia storyline and the fact that it was about the lawyer, not the actual mafia men. It wasn’t like any story I had read before and that was awesome.

3.75 stars. I really enjoyed this fake dating romance with high (but very unbelievable) stakes. It was 388 pages but felt a lot shorter — a real page turner. The perfect mix of soapy and lighthearted.

gareth (35) is a lawyer and fiona (25) is his assistant. he set up a meeting with an powerful irish clan and informed fiona that she has to stay away from that meeting. (this got me thinking why did he even bring her if she won't do anything?) but fiona got a call from her landlord informing her that their apartment building is on fire. she panicked and went looking for gareth. she found him but didn't know that the people he's meeting are dangerous. to be able to protect them both, gareth immediately announced that fiona is his wife. and that's where it all starts.
gareth was a career focused guy always looking for the next level. he's workaholic and all thinks about is spreading his reach with his career. and the best way to do that is to get working with the crowleys. he tried everything to appease them to make sure they'll hire his service. and the only condition they have, is for him to move to boston and he's currently living in dallas.
fiona has a lot issues piling up and one of them is being homeless as of the moment. but gareth's weird proposition to fake marry each other is the only thing that prevents her from living on the streets. she accepted it with stipulations not to cross any boundaries. she was sassy and snarky and can put up a fight with gareth. she never backs down and voices out her concerns. despite her being a decade younger than gareth, she complements him in every way.
they tried to ignore the sexual tension between them which make this a little bit slowburn. the first time they slept was around 63% of the book. but after that they can't keeo their hands off each other.
it took a while for gareth to know his priorities and this puts them back into the position they were in before they got more personal. they were civil with one another, living in the same house but both miserable and missing each other's company. i'm just glad he finally realized the important things in his life and made a wise decision towards the end of the book.
overall, this was fun i enjoy reading this. both mcs are likeable and they match one another so perfectly. worth reading and recommending.

Gareth Kane wants to be the lawyer that represents The Crowley's, the Irish mafia. Gareth has some very high profile clients but he wants more and the Crowley's are his ticket to that. One meeting he was supposed to be alone, but he dragged his assistant along and told her to stay put until he came for her. Fiona though ends up walking into the meeting and Gareth panics and says she is his wife. Now he has has fake wife, yes they are married, but they have to be together until they can have a carefully crafted break up. The thing is though that Gareth finds he is attracted to his wife and Fiona is quite different than expected. Can he keep their relationship platonic or all those feelings swirling between them erupt and have them questioning if perhaps this marriage could work?
Had some pretty funny moments. Great chemistry, I didn't really understand why Gareth waffled where Fiona was concerned. It was explained but Fiona was a unshakable woman, I really liked this character. Need to check out more books in the Atlas Organization, my interest is peaked.

5+ This is my favorite book of the series to date. I loved Gareth and Fiona's story. The lively banter between these two characters was so entertaining and the sex was mouth watering. The storyline was unique but fit into the series of 'The Atlas Organization's" five members from Blackwoods Academy. Gareth had represented clients from both sides of the fence and wanted to add a large Irish Mafia family to his client list, but needed a fake wife. The story starts as most "fake marriages" in this genre but slowly builds into so much more. Gareth has a ruthless reputation in the courtroom and a winning reputation for his clients which leads to the opportunity to represent one of the most powerful Irish crime families in Boston.
The story is funny, sexy and sad with moments of soul searching as Gareth and Fiona travel a road filled with a desire for one another that they try to resist, but can't. Gareth has his baggage as does Fiona (geez, she has some really weird parents) who have been anything but supportive of their daughter and quite frankly seem like "self-centered" idiots. I really liked both characters in this book even Gareth who could be a first class asshole at times. As the story evolves you really get to know the real Gareth vs., the lawyer Gareth.
I've read some of the other stories in this series and didn't care for the characters as much as Gareth and Fiona. I will say, not having read the entire series that this book made the other characters from the Atlas Group and their wives seem more likeable than they were in some of their own stories by books end.

Part of The Atlas Organization series each book can be read as a standalone with grump who thinks it is always his way or the highway but meeting the women that he needs and stands up to him 😊Gareth sexy as all get out grumpy attorney he didn’t always have money he knows what it means to be cold, hungry, so he worked his butt off to be better and paying attention to detail has gotten him pretty far add to that his workaholic nature expectations from everyone around him to work just as hard as him. Fiona so feisty, sweet, thinks all these things about her boss who is the most aggravating person being his legal assistant isn’t easy every day she struggles because she needs the job and tries to follow his every direction but increasing becoming harder so when she arrives home only to find her apartment was up in flames so interrupting an extremely important meeting he has no choice but to introduce her as his wife. She didn’t realize she broke into a meeting with the Irish mafia, so she now must be his wife to sell the story because their lives depend on it. But he has been such an a** to her pretending isn’t going to be easy throw in the fact they are attracted to each other, the more time they spend with/around each other the stronger the pull between them and the easier to sell the marriage idea to the mafia, will he be able to keep up with his feisty wife, will they convince the mafia, what happens when fake turns real really fast, will everything go back to normal after the threat, and can this grumpy attorney find happiness with his feisty legal assistant.

A Chance To Love He Never Expected -
Fiona was happy to have a job with her grumpy boss, but the last thing she expected was have to enter into a marriage of convenience, so her boss could close a deal. Gareth had plans to become the legal counsel for the a mafia family, but Fiona’s interruption of his meeting due to an emergency out him in a predicament that caused him to create a false narrative.
The stipulation of their marriage contract meant the relationship would be on a platonic basis, but spending time together gave the the opportunity to get to know each other better and made their attraction for each other grow. They soon started creating loopholes in the conditions of the contract, just so they could satisfy their sexual appetite, but this soon became a battle of willpower.
Unfortunately, Gareth’s insecurities caused him to make a decision that put them at odds of each other and nearly cost them their happiness. As luck would have it, he managed to come to his senses and fight for them to get a happily ever after. In my opinion, this story is not as intense and action-packed compared to the other stories in ‘The Atlas Organization’ series, but that doesn’t mean this story wasn’t deeply moving and captivating. I was lucky enough to read this book as my weekend treat and each page turn was worth the my time. Take a chance to read this book and you won’t be disappointed.

What another great book by BB! Every book from this series has been excellent.
Gareth and Fiona had great chemistry, what started as a relationship of opportunity turned into something real. Fiona, who works for Gareth as his assistant, has had the worst luck. Her apartment burnt down and she lost everything, her parents basically live in their own world, and then she totally screws up when she doesn’t listen to Gareth and walks in on a meeting he’s having with some bad men. To save her and him, Gareth says she’s his wife. After he makes her a deal- he’ll pay her debts if she’ll agree to marry him and pretend to be his wife. Gareth has had one goal, to rise to the next level, not be married. But he knows he needs to get her to do this so he can get a big business deal. She agrees, but things between them change and both are getting feelings for each other. Then some unexpected changes occur that makes Gareth question being with her, and he creates an opportunity for her that could change everything between them.
Like all her books, once I start I can’t put it down! I kept waiting for Fiona to tell Gareth what she wanted, and for Gareth to his head out of his a**.
I’m really excited and can’t wait for Lanzo’s story next!

Great story!!
This is a well written story which has engaging and realistic characters, friendships, family, witty banter, humour, intrigue, twists, challenges,and love, which all leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This was such an enjoyable read. Kept me up all night. The plot was great, the sex was vanilla but hot 🥵.

Diamond Heart is the fourth in The Atlas Organization series. A full-length standalone novel with no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with a satisfying happily-ever-after. It's brilliantly written with world building characters and great storyline that captures your attention from the first chapter and keeps you hooked and turning the pages until the end. Fiona and Gareth story. A fake marriage story, age gap trope story, mafia romance, opposite attracts, drama, employer/employee relationship, force proximity, forbidden romance, secrets, lies, threats, fear, deception, mystery, suspense, survival, power and control, blackmail, taboo, danger, pain, hurt, forgiveness, acceptance, emotions, illegal activities, tension, workplace romance, steam, passion, lust, enemies, billionaire romance, love and so much more.

Fiona & Gareth's will they won't they stay together for real had me glued from start to finish. After finding out her home is on fire Fiona has to get back but even though Gareth had warned that under no circumstances was she to interrupt his meeting she had no choice. He was furious that Fiona interrupted his meeting & in desperation he had to think on his feet to avoid being getting on the wrong side of the Crowley Mafia family he said they were married & made a excuse to speak to her outside. Not knowing what would happen they had to continue with their lie & pretend to be married but the Crowley family were trying to find out whether it was true as their business relied on trust from anyone working for them especially their lawyer. Gareth & Fiona both had trouble with their pasts but he kept telling her that nothing would ever happen between them but along the way things changed & even his friends knew what he was doing was to Fiona was wrong but even more dangerous if the Crowley's found out. It was a wonderful watching the banter between them & the sexual tension hoping that they would do what is right for both of them.
Have loved reading this series & the other wonderful characters we see again.

It is ridiculous how much I enjoyed this one! Gareth is soo hot!
Gareth is a part of the Atlas group of friends, a group of five, formed when they attended Blackwoods. Unlike Carmine, Ford or Evander, he hasn't been handed anything in his life, and owes his top-level attorney status to his obsessive work ethic.
[Not sure who those guys are? Read Beautiful Corruption, Ruined with a Promise, and Beast in my Bedroom to have the best experience.
Also associated with this world is Lovely Beast, but Angelo is not specifically an Atlas member.]
This story can be enjoyed as a stand-alone read if you choose, but in my opinion, it's best to know the backstories of these guys.
I loved Fiona! She has quite a few difficulties and drama in her life already, and an unfortunate mistake only compounds her troubles. She initially uses the situation to her advantage, but her chemistry with Gareth becomes a new problem. I really appreciated how things resolved for her!
This storyline is addictive and easy to enjoy. The connection between these two is steamy and full of flirty fun. This author consistently provides original and entertaining stories that are hard to put down.
Four of the five Atlas men have found their HEAs, with Brice, Kat, Camille, and now Fiona. I cannot wait to see what is in store for Lanzo, the last single one!

This is the sixth book in this series. It features Gareth Kane the lawyer in the group. His is a rags to riches story. Everything he has comes from his hard work and attention to detail. Plus he never stops working. Ever. His new legal assistant, Fiona Kellehe, is desperate to keep this job. And follows his every order except one. Her apartment in Dallas is on fire. Literally. So she breaks in on his meeting with a very powerful and paranoid client. So to cover her faux pas he introduces her as his wife. Will these Boston Irish mafia family believe him. It seems so except for the youngest son, Liam. He is also the most psychotic. So now instead of being ordered around by her Boss-hole. Fiona is now his wife. And she has to play the part perfectly or they could both end up dead. This is when things heat up. And we get a front row seat. Can Fiona convince the mafia that they are a happily, whirlwind Vegas wedding, couple? Can Gareth keep up with his new spitfire of a wife? Their story is full of danger, steam and witty banter. I love BB Hamel’s stories. They are full of wonderful characters and lots of steamy action. I did receive an advance copy for my honest review.

This is the 4th story in The Atlas Organization Series and in this one we get the journey of Gareth. Enter Fiona, Gareth’s new assistant, she’s in need of this high paying job and puts up with his moody, alpha ways and his sexy looks don’t hurt. While on a business trip Gareth has a secret meeting with a potential new client and gives Fiona strict instructions to stay put no matter what. Well you know something devastating comes up, her apartment is destroyed in a fire, Fiona goes searching for Gareth and overhears some questionable conversations. With some quick thinking Gareth introduces her as his wife starting their journey to a fake relationship to help him earn a new scary client and to keep Fiona alive! It’s great to see their undeniable chemistry and how Gareth treats Fiona paying off her college debt before their contract is fulfilled and helping her find her dream job. When Gareth and Fiona create a genuine relationship Gareth is the one to pull away and it’s Evander who gives Gareth the information he needs to finalize his decision to become the Crowley family lawyer. Fiona being Gareth's personal assistant accompanied him to this private meeting in this beat up biker type of bar out the state of Dallas TX-she was given specific instructions under any circumstances to not interrupt him, do not look for him, do not go into the back room to look for him.
Fiona got a call from her landlord to let her know that her apartment building burned down which left Fiona homeless. In a panic she went to find Gareth to let him know she needed to fly to TX. While Gareth was in his meeting with the Crowley's family who are one of the most dangerous mafia out there and Gareth is looking to become his lawyer when Fiona barged in on them. In a panic and to prevent Fiona from getting shot he said she is his new wife. I really like the story, I can feel their sparks and I love both characters. It was a nice read.

Gareth is the definition of grumpy & rude in the first part of the book until he goes into sweet and swoon worthy territory, all thanks to his assistant Fiona. The transition between being short and bossy with her to more talkative and protective is quite smooth. And that’s thanks to a great relationship development but also of them as characters. Them being forced to fake a marriage was not what they wanted but it’s definitely what they needed. The attraction was there but they never would have acted on their feelings if it wasn’t for the situation they were put in. So win-win for sure! I was expecting a bit more drama/danger from the mobster clan that both Gareth and Fiona were trying to trick. So I jumped into the book assuming we will get a bit of dark romance. That’s the only reason that I am giving it 4 stars only but all in all, really good book!

Age gap, accidental fake marriage! Fiona is the legal assistant to Gareth, possibly to world's worst boss. They are on their way to a very important meeting, but Fiona has been warned to sit quietly in a grungy bar, waiting for maybe a summons. She gets word from her landlord that her building is on fire and she barges into the meeting, only to find guns drawn on her. Terrified, she stands numbly and hears Gareth introduce her as his new bride! And so they embark on a dangerous mission to fool a gangster family. Gareth desperately wants a job as the family lawyer. Feelings start to develop between them but they fight it until they can't. I loved the characters. Fiona is a bit of a ditz who has the worst luck ever and the most dysfunctional parents ever. Gareth slowly comes to realize lusting after more and more money and power is meaningless. Very good read!!

This book was an absolute delight to read. The main characters Gareth and Fiona were funny, witty, entertaining, romantic and interesting. I smiled reading most pages, laughed and enjoyed the book. For being a mafia book I love that it was light hearted and not as serious as most mafia books are. If you're looking for a change of pace, fun and light you will not be disappointed. A must read. I highly recommend it.

I love Gareth Kane he's driven to get to the top no matter what. His new assistant Fiona ends up placing her in harm and he steps up to announce she's, his wife. Fiona is a feisty woman who Kane has been trying to resist every sine he hired her, now that she's living with him their both struggling to keep their hands to themselves. A captivating story as these two navigate their fake marriage, the mob boss and his sons getting suspicious of the marriage, or it will cost them both their lives. I love how we see the honest, protective and loving side of Gareth as he falls in love with Fiona. She has been attracted to him from the start and knows her feeling are going to get her in trouble. Diamond Heart is part of the Atlas Organisation series with 4 books in the series but each book is a standalone. Diamond Heart features Gareth and Fiona. Gareth is a lawyer who works for some dodgy people but he really wants to become the lawyer for a mafia family. Fiona was originally his assistant but interrupted something so has to pretend to be Gareths wife to keep her safe and to help Gareth. The longer the marriage continues the less it starts feeling fake.
I loved this story, I couldn't put it down. I really enjoyed the banter and chemistry between these two and as always a HEA.

Excellent steamy romance with interesting characters
The beginning seems like a classic story between an employee who hates her charming but disagreeable boss who is a lawyer. However, very quickly, everything changes for Fiona and Gareth. Between the mafia pressures, their attraction, the story is intense.
I loved asking myself questions and discovering how a lawyer could absolutely want to become the lawyer of a criminal mafia family as a life objective, whatever it costs him, putting the life of another person in the balance with him.

Fiona’s attraction to her boss Garett goes wild after he tells a prospective client she is his new wife. Fiona is a little too stubborn and behaves a bit ridiculously at times. He makes dumb moves, but tries to take care of her the best ways he can see. And he lets her in more than he does almost anyone else. I wish he would have actually explained to Orin some of his views after watching him at work. I think Orin would have listened. Oh well. I hated Fiona’s parents until the end. Her mother did make things slightly better then.

Having to work for a boss hole is one thing. But having to marry him, through the means of dubious consent, do to walking in on the wrong meeting is just wrong on so many levels.
The two main characters were pretty good, the level of sass they threw at eachother was hilarious and seeing how they grew together was heartwarming.
Also, seeing how the ml interacted with his friends showed how some friendships, even harsh ones, can span the test of time as long as you put in some effort. (Something I can see a lot of people forgetting).
This book really makes me want to find out what happens to the hidden Ace though :).
