The band's music is darker, deeper and more mature after four studio albums, three DVDs and a live release. Most strikingly, the sudden death of their bass player Paul Gray in 2010 has changed the face and the attitude of the group, although their commercial profile is, if anything, greater than ever. Als fan van Slipknot, is het een prima boek om meer te weten te komen over de geschiedenis van de band. Er staan genoeg anecdotes in, die niet overal bekend zijn. Zodat je voor je gevoel geen wikipedia pagina aan het lezen bent.
Verklaringen over onderwerpen van nummers zet je wel aan tot denken. Vooral als een van je favoriete nummers blijkt te gaan over iemand die zijn eigen polsen heeft doorgesneden. Maakt dit de muziek slechter? Nee, het laat vooral zien dat Slipknot niet bang is grenzen op te zoeken.
