Veiled Secrets was a mix of True Blood and The Fever series by Karen Marie Moning! This story has held my breath from the beginning until the very end where I was almost kept in almost veiled secret!!!!

This story, part of Heart of a Wolf series was one of my favorite! I could find many unnatural species and they all had a great purpose. I can't wait to read the sequel or next book about Seriana and then learn more about her and Erick!

The author had played well with her characters and her plot. We only learn, after a few chapters, what Seriana truly is and why she was banned from her realm. We also will learn that many powerful being are looming the ''human realm'', not only werewolves!

The end was a great and a powerful surprise! And the fact that this story reminded me of Fever or True Blood created envy inside of me; Seriana is a touching and sweet character. I wanted to know how her story would end!

Blake and Adam were entertaining, and at first I was looking forward for the flirt between Adam and Seriana, but after learning about Erick I was: Go to hell, Adam!

Anyway, Veiled Secrets was the last short story (prequel) from the Heart of a Wolf series I read so now I know a little more about each character from this series. It was a fabulous series and I enjoyed my reading. Looking forward to read No Remorse, the first book of the series!

Recommended as always, if you read the other prequels or if you want to discover a new PNR series!

I really enjoyed this novella from Bast's Heart of a Wolf series. It actually begins during Adam's novella, only from a different perspective. I had known there was something special about the pack's healer, but had no idea how special she was before I read this back story. I am excited to see where the story goes from here. I love how Bast keeps releasing these novellas between her full length novels. They add so much richness to the series and can be read as stand alone if you want to check out her writing style. I was so happy to receive this book as an arc.

This is another prequel to the No Remorse story from Marylynn Bast. Want to know more about the mysterious Seriana? Veiled Secrets is the book for you.

I have to admit that I was very intrigued by Seriana when I read No Remorse. So little was said. So much was done by her. I had to know more. I was so glad that Veiled Secrets was about her.

The truth is that I think this book actually created more questions than it answered. Seriana is not just a special woman. She is fey and ...... Well, I can't tell you the rest or it will really spoil you, but this book actually left me wanting the sequel to No Remorse more now than I wanted it at the end of the novel.

There are fey, werewolves, vampires and tons of action in this short book. It really could have been made much longer and become a novel in its own right. So much more could have been done with Seriana's story. That is the part that bothered me the most.

Warning. There are some F-bomb's dropped in the story.

If you like paranormal stories and if you were thinking about No Remorse, read this book. Maybe you should read it after No Remorse so you can appreciate it all the more.

Note: This book was given as part of a book tour with no expectation of a positive review.

Ya know, I really need to stop reading Ms. Bast's books ass backwards. I started with Realm of Secrets, which is a prequel novella that takes place before No Remorse. This is a novella about Seriana, one of the characters in No Remorse, and can be read as a stand alone. I actually like to read prequels before I get into a series because it gives you a better understanding of a characters background.

Although I have not read No Remose yet, I hear that Seriana is one of the wolf packs healers. Seriana is a Light Fey from the Loxy Realm and is banished to earth for breaking the rules. Being banned also means that she is stripped of all her memories of Loxy. When banished to earth, she is attacked by hunters and saved by shifters, Adam and Blake. She ventures out with them in search of their friend. Not only does she have to deal with being banned but she finds out that vampires are gaining access to portals that go to her home realm.

I really like how Veiled Secrets ends exactly where Realm of Secrets begins. I enjoyed both stories and should really push up No Remorse on my reading list. I'm really curious to see what the rest of the story would be like. This novella also ending with a BANG!! Seriously... so good. I didn't see that coming.

This is the first time I read a book written by MaryLynn, and I have to say I’m sorry I didn't read earlier. She is an amazing writer, and her characters are well formed and described, it’s easy to understand them.
The story it’s about Seriana Aphenithea, Princess of the Light Realm and her travel to Earth Realm. Her journey it’s full of obstacles because it is forbidden to travel to Earth Realm and she doesn't follows the rules. But Seriana hasn’t have a choice because she can not stop from traveling. As if the problems she has wasn't enough, one day, she finds herself in the woods, scared because she doesn't know what has happens to her, she doesn't even know who she is. We discover many things about Seriana in this story, but many questions will remain unanswered.
Can’t wait for the next installment because the author really let me begging for more. The book was fantastic and it’s a must read!

Veiled Secrets is a prequel to MaryLynn Bast series Heart of a Wolf as such it can be read before or after the other books in the series.

The world created by MaryLynn Bast for her Heart of a Wolf and Veiled Secrets in particular is a rich blend between paranormal werewolf lore and a more fantasy feeling to the Fey and the Light Realm, we are also given sneak peaks or tasty tidbits of information about other realms as well. I found the combination works well together and provides for another take on the paranormal standby of the were.

This is a novella length book at right around 100 pages and tells the story of Seriana and how she comes to be a part of the Earth Realm and involved with the werewolves. This also introduces us to several of the pack members and gives us incite into Blake and Adam.

I rather enjoyed this and found it well worth reading, it defiantly peaked my interest in the Heart of a Wolf series enough to start reading the whole series.
