Einstein for Everyone explores the mysteries of the universe, from the micro-world to the cosmos, and explains the major discoveries of modern physics, astronomy and cosmology in ways everyone can understand. Nothing is dumbed down; this is real science made accessible to real people by replacing technical jargon and math with English and heavenly pictures.
Einstein for Everyone is a replacement for Dr. Piccioni's book Everyone's Guide to Atoms, Einstein and the Universe , which is completely sold out. This paperback contains all the same text and illustrations (including 150 figures and 33 full color images) that are in the Best Book Award -winning Everyone's Guide .
Learn why stars shine, what atoms are made of, how we can generate more energy with less pollution, how old and how large is our universe.
You don't have to be a great musician to appreciate great music. Nor do you need math expertise to appreciate the exciting discoveries and intriguing mysteries of our universe. If you can change money, you can understand Einstein. And black holes, relativity, quantum mechanics, and the Big Bang.
Stupendous venture in trying to simplify the most abstruse of subjects. The author needs to be really lauded for the energy with which he narrates both the micro world and the universe along with all its amazing factoids. Makes one yearn that one should have taken science seriously in school and therein lies the success of the author.
Book is little less about Einstein personal life and more about his work in physics. Einstein considered as a greatest mind of century due to his work. During Einstein time every scientist believed that in science we have discovered and invented everything, so there no more invention left and its ultimately its the end of science. But there were few unsolved riddles like Brownian motion and photoelectric effect. Einstein gave answer to those problems. He also tried to explore microscopic world of atom and lead new frontier in science as well as he also tried to solve macroscopic world of stars and universe. This book is just introduction to that topic. Author kept is very simple for everyone but also gave references if anybody want to go in detail.
Our mysterious universe never fails to excite our curiosity. Scientists have truly gone a long way in trying to solve the mysteries of nature. But a larger proportion of human population remains unaware of these splendid discoveries- simply because it is complex to understand. This book has attempted to bring down this complexity by several scales. I do not bluff that i understand each and everything in the book but it was a truly enlightening read. But then i cannot promise it will be as gripping for people without a science background(i am an engineer). Nevertheless i say it goes into that limited list of must read books before you die.
This book provides a wonderful introduction to the universe and physics. It covers an extensive range of topics - from infinitesimal particles to the almost infinite universe, in succinct, straightforward and comprehensible vocabulary, rather than using technical jargon. It sheds light on why Einstein was such an exceptional and eccentric man, and how he went from being rejected, to being the most famous theoretical physicist in history. You really get to understand how his theories influenced the scientific community as a whole. You will truly understand the complexity, and beauty of our universe, and how little we know of it. It's a must read for everyone - if you are a physics enthusiast you will love physics even more, and if you are not too fond of it, you will be wonderstruck. 4.5/5 For a more detailed review, check out my blog: nicolesversion.blogspot.com/2024/02/e...
Piccioni's engaging, legible, clear and concise explanation and discussion on topics in modern physics in a way that is accessible to everyday person with little to no formal training in science is quite prominent in the book.
An excellent book centered around Einstein and his breakthrough discoveries. Covers macro and quantum.physics in easy bites involving the evolution of modern physics. Quite informative . The treatment of both general and special relativity deserves mention. I will be adding it to my home library.
An amazing read if you've not been upto the latest findings about the space. The concepts are explained so clearly in laymen language then you'd actually start loving astronomy. I got to understand so many things that I never understood when they used to teach us this stuff in school. The comparisons made to illustrate the vastness of the universe or the minuteness of atoms makes sense all the time. Only one thing to say: "It's not that I am so smart. It's just that I stay with problems longer" - Einstein.
While being informative and lowering the perspective down to a commoner, at time Piccioni tends to be going over the top trying to sell very fantastic tales that could be straight out of an American science fiction movie for the hare brained.
The book does not come close to ' the brief History of Time' but is more lucid for someone like me who is trying to gain some insight in to realm of Physics
A very clear and simple explanation of greatest works of the greatest physicist along with exciting references to personal experiences made it an exciting read.
