FAIRY THOUGHTS
Favorite Line(s) “You are my everything. You are my Queen. Do not let the darkness swallow you, my love.”

“We stood there, linked, twin-cousins, fire and ice against the shadows outside, as they grew dark and long, and looming.”

“I can hardly wait to claim our marriage bed,” he whispered. “Anywhere, loving you is a joy, but when we are married…when you are my Queen and I your King, all will be right with the world.”

“In every battle, there is a death. The loser may laugh it off if the war is short and sweet and without cost. Or the loser may bleed out, if the war is to the death.”

Wow! Galenorn has done it again! Cicely is amazing! She has grown into this amazing Character that is amazing to read about. In this one the Queens are to be crowned, marriages are happening, and that bad guys are right at the door. Geoffrey, Leo, and Crawl are out to get Cicely and Rhia.
The actually get Rhia and do some horrible things to her. It broke my heart to read what happen to her. Then when they are trying to get her back Crawl gets his fangs and claws on Cicely. The only way to save her is for Lannan to give her blood which will bring on Blood Fever! Poor Grieve is a amazing man! He knew what would happen but, didn't even hesitate as long as Cicely was ok!
I'm thinking Lannan will end up being a problem down the road!
In this one Myst was recovering so we didn't see her at all but, the threat is there. I'm dying to see what will happen with the next book!
This book didn't disappoint!

The same thing basically happens in every book in this series:

-The gang get summoned to the vampire mansion

-Cicely denies her attraction to Lannan but they have some kind of encounter anyway

-The gang walks through the woods and fights Shadowhunters to get to a cave where they'll either fight more Shadowhunters or encounter fae magik or both

-Somebody cooks eggs and bacon and toast

-Cicely uses Ulean to scout ahead

-Ulean has to stay away because vampires

-Cicely has to mention Dane and how he did her tats

-Someone has to mention Crawl and it makes Cicely shudder every time

-Grieve gets called ~my wolf~ or ~my king~ ten billion times

-The Consortium brags about how strong they are but never do anything

-Ritual circle

-Somebody does a dangerous spell or ritual that will change them and make them darker

-The group moves or gets new living accommodations

-The group does something we've been repeatedly told is impossible to do by the worldbuilding rules and it's treated like a big deal but never really amounts to anything but we're still expected to be impressed because it should be impossible

-Cicely mentions her shellfish allergy

-Cicely has Cherish flashbacks

-Cicely acts sad about killing enemy combatants even though she's done it a billion times now

Whatever, these are fun. If a little stale at this point. Honestly I think a lot of this book was filler that could have been combined with the next book. This series might be longer than it should be.

This book was also weirdly rapey. Leo rapes Rhiannon, Cherish rapes the native man she kills. And that was brutal, she raped him while she was eating him alive. And that's who Shy fell in love with? And Cicely had no inner reflection about reconciling that version of her with who she is now. Felt like that might have been important but whatever.

This book felt like it was mainly going through the motions to me. The best sequence was the climax in the theater. The cave scene following that felt redundant and I think tighter editing to tie those two battles into one would have strengthened everything.

I also just think after 3 books of buildup to it, everything that went down with Lannan could have had more weight and payoff tbh. Also not liking how purely sidelined Regina is.

I did enjoy this don't get me wrong but from the heights of the first three books to this is just a disappointment to me. And Leo being THIS evil felt like so out of character and insane. His heelturn just felt too forced and happened too much off-screen imo.

I still enjoyed this book and to be fair although they have repetitive beats each one has stood out as unique in one way or another.

I love the inclusion of Ysandra and the Consortium does seem interesting, they're just too hyped up for too little payoff I'm hoping is just being delayed until the next book.

The beasts in the underground tunnels felt downright Lovecraftian, and tying it in with a lost floor of the theater is brilliant, bringing us back into the town and the local area and reaffirming the setting while also bringing a new vibe to it and developing the world. It feels very Phantom of The Opera or Halloween-y to me too, which I approve of fully, especially in a series like this. More of that, please.

I also felt impressed at the character deaths and new threats involved in this book. It makes it feel like the stakes are real.

I'd say this is a 3.5 for me.

So I didn't love one element of this story and it definitely knocked things down for me. I really don't like the Lannan storyline. I don't think it helps anything and the result of it here bothered me a lot. Rhiannon's similar plot of page wasn't much fun either. But that's actually more forgiving because in the case of Cicely and Lannan we're supposed to like him a little. It really tore down the second half of the book for me.

The first half of this book is really all about Cicely and Rhiannon becoming the fae queens of Winter and Summer. The second half is all about the vampires that hate them. Enjoyed the first half, struggled with the second. But ultimately my issues came down to one little scene so I'm not knocking this down too much. I'm looking forward to the final confrontation with Myst.

Favorite Quote: “Life is often an illusion, Cicely. Illusion that is very real, very strong, but still-place the right amount of force on the right spot and it breaks.“

Night Vision, the fourth installment of Yasmine Galenorn’s dark and sensual fae fantasy, picks up right where Night Seeker ended. Well-plotted and cast with characters that are strong and personable, Night Vision is filled with taut suspense, delicious intrigue, and dangerous antagonists. While Night Seeker was the turning point of the series; very physical and action packed, Night Vision is the emotional aftermath. Galenorn spends more than half the book addressing the emotional changes Cicely is experiencing as she takes her place as the Queen Of Winter. We are taken deep into Cicely’s psyche as she struggles to overcome her fears of the future and her sorrow at what she is losing. A strong storyline with captivating subplots further drives this story towards the finale as Cicely, her wounded prince, and an obsessed vampire all fight for what they want.

Ms. Galenorn continues to evolve and strengthen her convoluted world with her own fascinating twists on supernatural mythology that first started in Night Veil. Detailed descriptions and scenes define this installment as Cicely meets the Winter Court and learns what will be expected of her as Queen. There is no turning back for her or Rhiannon. The arc remains a subtle presence as long running open storylines are finally closed for good. Galenorn is preparing for the end, leaving clues that will have long time readers wondering how she can end this series with our hearts in tact. The world continues to blend carnal passions, electrifying action, dynamic characters, and stark reality into a sensuous feast for the senses. Well plotted, it creates a satisfying development for the main characters and culminates in two very different sort of conflicts that will be decided in the final book.

I continue to enjoy Cicely Waters as a character. Loyal, intelligent, and strong willed, she has made choices that many would balk at making yet she made them without batting an eye. A perfect heroine whose strong moral code that shines against the manipulations of those around her. Born to a drug user with no knowledge of her father, her survival on the streets made her into the warrior we see before us. Her maturity has grown throughout the series, though she still has a vulnerable side that preserves her humanity. We continue to share an intimate connection with Cicely as her pain, her sorrow, and her triumphs become our own. It has been an exciting ride as we have watched her grow from a solitary figure to having friends, family, and a lover. She is still scared but she has learned to trust in herself and others. She has finally reached the point where she can share her life freely with her lover, Grieve, but her association with the Vampire Court will continue to shadow her.

Grieve and Lannan are the two men who are integral parts of Cicely’s life. Grieve, a former Fae Prince of Summer, has been a part of Cicely’s life since she was a little girl. Past installments show us that they are actually old souls who cheated death and found a way to reunite. Grieve’s love for Cicely is a physical entity. Their chemistry burns the pages with each small moment they are able to steal. Lannan, on the other hand, is a sado masochist vampire whose obsession with Cicely has only brought pain to their relationship. Cicely originally signed a contract with the Crimson Court and Lannon for help, but her rise to royalty dissolved the contract and left Lannon angry over the circumstances. In Night Seeker, she and Lannan formed a tentative truce that is reinforced in here, leaving us to wonder what new position he will hold in her life.

The cast of supporting characters are a vivid and dynamic group. Each one fully capable of holding their own story. I like that each have distinct, separate personalities and substories; ensuring they are never overwhelmed by our protagonists. The main conflict of the story is a whirlwind of intrigue, tension, and action, though for me it was short and I wish the two storylines had balanced better. As I stated earlier, more than half the book is spent watching Cicely and Rhiannon (to a much smaller extent), take the thrones and I felt the in depth descriptions and internal thoughts dragged the story down in certain areas. I also wish sometimes we could see other POVs besides Cicely’s. I would pay big money to know where Lannan is emotionally right now.

Regardless of my small issues, Yasmine Galehorn’s Indigo Court series is an addictive heady noir urban fantasy that stretches all your boundaries. I highly recommend. I am looking forward to Night’s End, set to release in July 2014, though I am sad this is the final book of series.

Fourth in the Indigo Court urban fantasy horror series revolving around Cicely Waters, a young fae queen-in-waiting.

My Take
I had been so looking forward to this story, and ended up gagging my way through it. Galenorn can't have it both ways. Either the girls are aware of the danger they're in or they're not. Because I can't believe anyone can be this stupid. Cicely is supposed to be so street smart...is she in a coma?

It was like reading schizophrenia-mania with Cicely claiming that, ooh, Gregory, Leo, and Myst are all out to get them and they must take care. They cannot be allowed to prevent the queens from being crowned or their friends hurt or yadda-yadda-yadda. So, naturally, in the best of stupid moves, they're constantly insisting on wandering off into danger. They go shopping in town and don't get under cover when it gets dark. They don't take enough guards with them. They wander off for a walk and insist on being unfettered. They don't arrange for guards on Veil House. When they go off on one of their rescues, naturally, they wait until noon before they go out. God forbid they should have to wander in tunnels, etc. for more than four hours. Then there's Crawl of whom Cicely is terrified. Does this help her choose to play it safe, to be practical. Why, noooo, what fun would that be. WTF?

Why would they think they'd be fine in daylight? They know the vampires have day-runners. Heck, Leo was one.

It got to a point where I was crossing my fingers and hoping they'd be taken. Genetic selection at its finest. What goes through an author's or their editor's heads when they allow this to slide by? It makes no sense and simply pisses me off. I didn't want to speak for everyone…*grin*...

In keeping with the lack of intelligence, Cicely plays with her own wind magic and royally screws up the first few times only to "magically" get it when she really needs to use it. The scene in which Lannan finally gets Cicely into his bed is just lame. It feels like it was tossed in for sexual tension. Although, to be fair, it is consistent with the rest of this story. S. T. U. P. i. D.

Huge info dump some twenty pages in. For all Cicely's supposed to be so street smart, I guess she must have lost it somewhere.

Why bring up the Lupa clan if you're not going to go anywhere with it?

To be honest, it reads more like Galenorn had to rush this off to meet her deadline. There's no finesse, no buildup, no thought involved. Try to borrow this from the library instead of wasting your money on it.

The Story
They will be crowned no matter what evil threatens.

The Characters
Cicely Waters is a Wind Witch and an owl shifter, about to be crowned Queen of Winter, an Unseelie Court of the Dark Fae. Ulean is a Wind Elemental bound to Cicely when she was young. Grieve is the love of Cicely's life, but he was caught by Myst and is now Vampiric Fae and battles the blood lust every day. Krystal is her dead mother. Lord Strict will be Cicely's chief adviser. The guards who have to cope with Cicely's stupid childishness include Check who is an oath-brother to Wrath, Fearless, and Teral. Druise is Cicely's maid.

Rhiannon Roland is Cicely's cousin. Together they were known as Fire and Ice, Amber and Jet. Rhia will become the Queen of Summer, a Seelie Court. Chatter is also a Cambyra Fae and Grieve's best friend and cousin; he will become Rhia's husband and king. They will rule Lainule's Court of Rivers and Rushes. The Veil House is where Rhiannon grew up with her mother; where Cicely had spent the best summer of her life. Lady Edge is Strict's twin, and she will advise Rhia.

The Fae
Lainule, the Queen of Summer, has regained her heartstone and is fading. Wrath is her Consort, King of Rivers and Rushes, and Cicely's father, one of the Cambyra Fae, an owl shifter. Shadow is one of the Cambyra maids. Tabera was the Queen of Winter assassinated by Myst. The Marburry Barrow is near New Forest and where Lainule and Wrath live. The Eldburry Barrow is the palace of Winter. The Snow Hag is one of the Wilding Fae and a conversation with her is terrifying.

The Moon Spinners
The Moon Spinners are a magical society put together by Cicely to conform to the Consortium's rules. Cicely and Rhiannon are both members along with Luna, a yummanii bard whose song is magic, who wants to open a magic business at Veil House. Kaylin Chen, a 101-year-old martial arts sensei and dreamwalker possessed by a night-veil demon, is in love with Luna. Peyton Moon Runner is half-werepuma and half-magic-born and wants to open a magical private investigation agency that will operate from Veil House.

Rex is Peyton's newly met werepuma Native American father. Anadey is Peyton's shmanic witch mother who runs the diner and tried to keep Peyton from her father.

The Consortium
Ysandra Petros looks like a librarian until she puts on her catsuit. She's the liaison between the Consortium and the Moon Spinners. The Consortium is ruled by the Elder Council and appear to be the hidden rulers of the world while the Reverend Mother appears to lead the council.

The Vampires
Lannan Altos is the current Northwest Regent of New Forest, a vampire who loves to humiliate. He ousted Gregory in Night Seeker , 3. Regina Altos is the vampire Emissary of the Crimson Court, and Lannon's sister and lover. Sasha is her day-runner secretary. The Crimson Queen rules all vampires and wants the Queens of Summer and Winter safe.

Myst is Queen of the Indigo Court, a Vampiric Fae almost too strong to fight. A fae with ambitions, she was turned by Gregory who thought to have all her power at his command. Cicely was once her daughter, Cherish, many millenia ago who fell in love with Sly, a Prince of Summer, a.k.a., Grieve. Shadow Hunters are the Vampiric Fae forces.

Gregory, formerly the Great, wants his regency back, for he has a queen to overthrow. Leo Bryne was Gregory's day-runner and is now a vampire with hate for Rhia. Crawl is the Blood Oracle, a seer who is highly esteemed—and feared—among vampires and wields blood magic, but closely guarded to prevent his ever leaving his prison. He's also the sire of Lannan and Regina.

Cambyra Fae are the Shifting Ones. The Uwilahsidhe are the Owl People of the Shifting Ones. The Golden Isle is their homeland, home for all the Sidhe. The Vein Lords, a.k.a., the Crimson Court, a.k.a., the Vampire Nation, are the vampires. Yummanii are the fully human. The Consortium is a worldwide organization of supernaturals, who, along with the Vein Lords and certain officials, run the world.

The Cover
The cover is cute and very fairytale-ish with its lavender tones in the wintry setting of low-hanging trees. Grieve is in his wolf form and a very hot looking Cicely, wearing her jeans, bustier, and crown, her knife held down by her side, looks back over her shoulder at us.

I have no idea where the title, Night Vision, came from. Once the queens are crowned, they become more fae. It may be a metaphor for what it yet to come with the threat of Myst.

Since my Kindle broke this week, I was stuck reading on my iphone. Even though I hate reading on my phone (I feel like I'm constantly flipping pages), I read this entire book on my phone- was even up too late because I was so engrossed in it.

Is this a standalone book? Oh no, I don't believe you should read this book if you've never read the first three. I think most people would honestly start it and stop it and never go back. I definitely believe that you need the backstory to have have any idea of what is happening with this one. So I can't recommend reading this on its own.

I'll be honest, I tried reading the author's other series - I never made it more than a few chapters into the first book. But this series has had me engrossed in it since the very first chapter of book one. I cannot explain why that is, but I really do like this series.

I will say that Cicely did not annoy me too much in this one - for some reason there's always been parts where I wanted to strangle her. lol But this book was pretty much remiss with those scenes.

My one complaint with this book is that the ending came as it did. It just felt a bit climatic. I guess because I would happily have read about a dozen more chapters.

Final word: Give this a whirl if you liked the first three books. If you didn't, then I'm not so sure you would want to read this, but it could draw you back into the world. Unfortunately the world is going to be ending next year when the final book is released.

Cicely and Rhiannon are coming to terms with being the queens of the fae courts. The coronation is fast approaching as well as the plans for their joint weddings. But behind all the planning the uncertainty of their future and what they are to become is overwhelming both cousins.

It is not all joyous planing, danger lurks around every corner. Geoffrey and Leo have released the blood oracle, Crawl, and he is slaughtering his way through town with a single focus of getting to Cicely. Leo wants to reclaim Rhiannon even if it means creating another evil abomination like Myst. While Myst still lurks in the background waiting for her chance to destroy them all.

The story starts out pretty slow but transitions into the fast paced action we come to expect from the Indigo Court series.

I wasn't happy with the turn of events between Cicely and Lannan or Rhia and Leo. To avoid giving spoilers, I just want to say sometimes you can create more effect by making actions implied than vividly described. I guess I'm getting really tired of the non-consent and questionable consent situations many authors are including in their works.

All that being said...

Night Vision is vividly descriptive, brilliantly imaginative, and provides hours of riveting reading. The cast of characters is pretty extensive and even the sub-characters plights are gripping. Yasmine Galenorn writes additive characters and creates fascinating stories by twisting the modern world with vampires, fae, shifters and magic.

I was hooked the moment I started this series. I was fascinated by the work that was created, But as I read through each book, it fascinated me even more with the characters, and storyline. This one did not disappoint. It's got some wild twists and turns in it, that keeps you salivating for more. And Grive he's the most understanding, most patient being in the world. It's going to be an epic book for the finally of this series.

Another terrific book by Yasmine Galenorn. :)

I was afraid this series was going to be a "hit and miss" regarding the individual books (just like Anne Rice's individual vampire tales are) but I was surprised and very happy to find out that this wasn't the case.

This is the 4th book in the series and it was well worth reading.

I do think Cicely has become way too powerful way too fast but given the circumstances, she is in, I guess she had no choice. Again I skipped over all the sex scenes because they just aren't my thing. Thankfully, there weren't too many in this book.

This time Cecily and the gang (Chatter, Grieve, Rhiannon, Ysandra, and Luna) are hunting the vampires Leo and Gregory with Kaolin (sp). He was severely injured in book #3. As a female, I loved reading about the two Queens going shopping for their wedding gowns but you would think after all the times they were ambushed by night hunters, Myst, and vampires they would be more on their guard.

I was very disappointed with the consortium and I hope they make up their minds quickly! They absolutely cannot stay neutral in the war that's coming in the future. However, I think the gang is doing well enough, they may not even need the witch's help. :) I found some of this book to be pretty predictable but it was written in such a way that it was still interesting.

I do like the fact that Cecily and Rhiannon are maturing at a slow pace. Yes, they are powerful but mind wise, they still don't know much.

And oddly enough, I miss Myst! I'm looking forward to her return, hopefully in the next book.

Start with Book 1 "Night Myst" and read sequentially. After routing Myst and most of her Shadow Hunters, Cicely and Rhiannon feel a little safer. But it's an illusion: Geoffrey and Leo are out for revenge. And worse, they have released Crawl from his prison. Then when they hear Myst is regrouping her Shadow Hunters, they realize things are getting even worse. But tomorrow, at the winter solstice, Cicely and Rhiannon will become the Queen of Winter and Queen of Summer, respectively. There will be new duties and responsibilities, and new powers. But first, the initiation and creation of a heartstone is a fascinating episode. After Rhiannon is kidnapped, there are violent scenes of battles, killings, rough sex, torture and rape, against both Rhiannon and Cicely, as the book heads to the thrilling conclusion.

I plan to give this book higher if only I don't come into part that turn my mood sour. We already into 4th installment, so I guess all I write from here will be spoiler of sort, but I'll do my best to make it less spoilery.

TW first, there's sexual assault, rape (happen off-screen), cheating, violence toward women.

Let's address what I think is bad. I already stated from book 1 to 3 that I dislike Lannan and my opinion still didn't change. I think Galenorn maybe write him as anti-hero of sort, but all I read is how he like to humiliate Cicely over and over. I assume Galenorn write him as a character with dark trait that means he's unapologetic of his action and he admit that he desire Cicely to the point it comes as unhealthy obsession. That doesn't mean I want to like it. I dislike the part when he sexually assault Cicely, when she is sexually high because of Blood Fever in book 2, Night's Veil. What make me surprised is, in this book, to make Cicely accept Lannan's sexual offer is...yes, Blood Fever. Again. And to make it worse, Grieve accept it because if not, Cicely will die. I rolled my eyes over and over when read it. What supposedly to be a sexy chapter, I find myself skimmed. ME! Skimmed over sex scenes. THE SHOOK!

I feel sorry for Grieve, to get cuckolded like that *facepalm. He know it, Cicely know the consequences and she repeat to Grieve that her heart always belonged to him. I called it as BS, like, OMG, if you want Lannan from the first there's no need to make excuses. If Galenorn want to write about throuple or polyamorous relationship and I know she's no stranger to this like what she did with her Otherworld series, I will..okay, okay. I just hope, she didn't half-assed write it. Make it believable, make it TRULY work. Cicely herself said that lucky for her that Lannan didn't rape her, didn't sexually assault her, only abused. I said, WTH, because he totally did that in book 2, Night's Veil!! Goodness, the amount of excuse to make what Lannan and Cicely do to work even Cicely said that it's just a release make me almost throw up. She said that Lannan will deliver what her darkest desire craving, because in the past she's connected to Myst. Girl, supposed that Grieve can do that because he's also part vampire since he's Indigo Fae? Is he supposed to be your One True Love?? To think that in the next book, Cicely might having sex with Lannan again and have polyamorous relationship since for Fae, sexual fidelity is non-existent as long the heart remain true. OMG, I can't even. I can accept infidelity, cheating as long there's believable story behind that, that can convince me to consider my value. As long as I know, there's none in this book. Well, maybe the part when Cicely's father did it, but it's not cheating at my book per se, because his wife, Lainule know that what he did is necessary. Because if not, Cicely won't born. I read another review and I'm glad I'm not the only one that got bothered with this Cicely-Lannan fiasco. Heh.

I want to DNF'd the book, but I want to know if Geoffrey and Leo (that little SOB) got their comeuppance. They kinda did, but to my disappointment, it feel flat. At least Galenorn did right to Leo, what she half-heartedly try to make Lannan as anti-hero. Leo is a truly antagonist, a 2D evil character, but at least he lived (or undead, since he's vampire now) to his jerkiness. I just hope, he got tortured over and over because what he did to Rhiannon, as really raped and sexually tortured her, but it kinda didn't happen. Hence, the disappointment. I also hope that, it's unnecessary for make a woman character come back stronger because she had been sexually assaulted. Poor Rhiannon.

Anyhow, despite my annoyance, I do enjoy large sum of the story. Like, truly enjoy (after my mood turn sour after the Lannan-Cicely scenes). In book 1 to 3, the story is very action packed and seems like our girls can't catch a breath. In Night Vision, I liked the part when Cicely embraced her new roles as Queen of Winter Court. The magical atmosphere work wonders, it's feel solemn and heartwarming despite the icy settings. I also like how the sisterhood still going strong and liked that Galenorn insert the way behind Fae naming system, because, like Cicely, I find it odd that some Fae have nouns or adjectives as their names (like Grieve, Chatter, etc) while others have otherworldly name like Lainule. Also, poor Peyton, girl have going through SO MUCH, I want to hug her.

Cicely...sigh, I don't know what to said about her. I still pissed off to read her back-and-fro feelings to Lannan, while in the other side she assured Grieve that she only love him. If you really love romance, I can't said that Indigo Court truly romance. The romance just a lil bit aspect of what I said as an urban fantasy series, and if you dislike potentially polyamorous relationship, maybe it's will be hard to read. Although, Cicely kinda grow a bit and she come to know how to be responsible (hey, she's a Queen now!) and how to restraint her power so it didn't overwhelm her.

One book left to the final showdown between Cicely and Myst. One book left to read about...sigh, Lannan. Not that I hated him, I just hope if only he didn't come as sadistic person that love to humiliate our heroine, maybe I will looking forward to read his relationship. All I get from him is just this bully-vibes. And how Galenorn, via Cicely, insist to reader that Grieve is really the end-game.

Oh well, I can still live and we will see what my last opinion will bring after I read the last book.

This episode of this series was very beautiful and exciting!

This episode of this series was quite beautiful and exciting! I loved reading about how the cousins took their places as Queens as Winter and Summer! I also enjoyed reading about how they were triumphant against their foes, just as I knew they would be! Yasmine Galenorn made the battle so exciting! I can’t wait until they go up against Myst! That battle scene should be epic!! I am enjoying this entire series and can’t wait to go on to next novel!
Highly recommend!

(Explícito). Este libro estuvo enfadoso. Más que nada trata de la coronación de las nuevas reinas de invierno y verano, además de que al fin eliminaron a Geoffrey y Leo. Creo que te puedes saltar este libro y no pasa nada. Puro relleno.

this book is a great pivit toward the end of the series. Leaves things sort of at half-closure, one could say, but it's obvious that there is more coming.

I actually enjoyed this novel more than the last three. It had a bit more spunk to it this time, and it really took the novel far. Which is good for this series, because it was starting to get a bit boring. So this was the best thing to happen to this series. And this was a pretty decent novel, only made possible by the plot. A plot that is actually quite common in real life nowadays.

After retrieving Queen Lainule's heartstone there was a price that had to be paid. A price that only Cicely and Rhiannon can pay. Because with her heartstone now given back to her, Lainule can no longer be a Fae Queen. Another must take her place, and Lainule has already chosen her new heir. For Rhiannon will be the new Queen of Summer, while Cicely will be the new Queen of Winter. These are the roles that the girls were meant to be in, and it's one that they each gladly accept. Especially when it means that they get to marry their one true love. Because when the girls are both crowned Queen they get the pleasure of marrying Chatter and Grieve. Which is exactly what Cicely has wanted from the moment she met Grieve. An while Cicely and Rhiannon may be excited for the future, they must still be on guard at all times. Because with Myst still on the loose there's no telling what might happen. But at the moment Myst is the least of their worries compared to Leo and Jeffrey. Jeffrey has gone into hiding and with him Leo as well. Leo is still upset that Rhiannon has chosen Chatter over him, and he vows that when he gets ahold of her that she'll regret it. However, the worst part about Jeffrey vanishing is that he released Crawl when he left. And Crawl is a nightmare all to himself. A nightmare that wants nothing more than to suck Cicely dry. So now Cicely and Rhiannon must be on the watch for the vampires, along with Myst. But even their ever watchful guards can't stop the attack when it comes. Because Leo's plan for vengeance against Rhiannon is too strong to stop her warriors. And with Rhiannon in his grasp nothing can stop him from taking what he wants.

This novel would be classified as an adult urban fantasy novel. One that also has a bit of romance to it as well. Along with a few other aspects too. Aspects such as witches, shifters, vampires, and fae. A whole slew of supernatural creatures to help keep this novel going. But with this type of plot the novel hardly needs any help with its enhancing. Because the plot of this novel is a kidnapping plot. One that is all about vengeance served to a main character. Which in turn helped to spicen up the series quite a bit. So when it comes down to my final recommendation on this novel, I'd have to say that if you enjoyed the others in this series then you should give this one a shot. Otherwise, I'd wait to read it. Because while it's a pretty decent novel it just be pointless to read it before all the others.

Mon avis en Français

My English review

I have a little trouble with the Yasmine Galenorn’s series: Sisters of the Moon, which I think, lacks a little something. But I did not know anything about this series, so I was curious to see how it would be. And I must say that despite the context which is close enough, I liked this one a little more than the other that I have read.

I do not know the other novels, and I confess I do not know what they are about but I love novels on faes and I was very curious to know more about this one. Cicely and Rhia are two young women not destined to become queen of the two fae’s lands. Yet here they are ready to enter in a new life, even if they are very anxious for these new responsibilities. However, this progress will not be easy and two vampires will do anything to stop them and get what they want.

I admit that I was curious to discover both worlds and see how the author would show us everything. We eventually discover a part of the Winter land, but I confess that I am curious to learn more about it. They are two worlds quite fascinating! However, I think we sometimes had some lenghts and I had a little trouble to hold onto every moment of the story. But I was curious to see how our two heroines would manage to live like this. The two young women are brave and determined yet they do not really know how to behave or how to become the queen that everyone expects. It’s pretty impressive to see how they need to change and try to become a person they never thought to be.

That’s a pretty interesting story that allows us to follow the adventures of two young women who are opened to a whole new life with the people they love, even if this will be far from easy. I admit that I ‘m curious enough to see how the first volumes are, the series is much darker and more complex than the Sisters. Something quite intriguing.

The Blood Oracle has been set loose upon New Forest, Washington and Rhiannon has been kidnapped and Cicely must lead her forces in a bloody battle to save her cousin before everything they have worked for crumbles to dust in this captivating urban fantasy.

This fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on the edge with lots of suspense, action, and drama. The well written scenes inspire vivid images and capture the imagination and the well orchestrated suspense and drama draw the reader deeper into the story. The action scenes are exciting and believable making it easy to get caught up in all the thrilling situations that Cicely and her forces must face in order to save Rhiannon and the characters are strong and enticing ensuring that the reader wants to know everything that is going on.

The story is non-stop action and drama that keeps things exciting and seemingly never ending for Cicely, especially when her and Rhiannon thought their destinies were getting closer to their grasp, they thought they could rest a little while Myst was hiding in her shadows of course they realize she is regrouping but was too much to ask for just a small break. No…the renegade vampires Leo and Geoffrey just had to stir things up by setting none other than the Blood Oracle loose on New Forest to cause lots of havoc and of course Leo taking Rhiannon is just the icing on the cake for Cicely. Maybe one day she’ll be able to the Queen of Winter and settle down with Grievem and Rhiannon, the Queen of Summer will be able to have her happily ever after with Chatter.

Once again Yasmine Galenorn makes a story that is fascinating, thrilling and exciting with surprising twists and bewitching characters including the chilling villains. I was completely caught up in the story from the very beginning and couldn’t put it down until I found out how Cicely and Rhiannon fared against these enemies. Note: I highly recommend that the series be read in order to get the full impact of the characters and the situation surrounding them.

I make it a point to read every Yasmine Galenorn book (fiction) that is released as soon as I'm able to get my hands on a copy. And while I enjoy her Otherworld series very much, the Indigo Court is my favorite. This newest installment, Night Vision, did not disappoint me.
Life handed me a crappy event earlier this week, so I was very happy to finally get this book as it allowed me to escape from life for a while.
Cicely and Rhia are on the fast track to becoming the queens of Winter and Summer and have to contend with some heavy stuff in Night Vision. Galenorn is great at handling the darker side of her characters lives, and does not pull any punches with her writing. She doesn't gloss over the messy ugliness of things in her worlds, but still manages to entertain her readers very well, in every aspect.
Myst takes a backseat in this installment, but we never forget that she is out there, regrouping after the events of the previous book. Instead, the cousins and their friends, have to deal with some other leftovers, Geoffrey and Leo.
Unwilling to stay locked away in their new realms, they head out into the town to choose wedding dresses. Caught up in the excitement of the moment, they drop their guard and things become very bad, very quickly. Leo is after Rhiannon, Geoffrey and Crawl (eep! Yup, someone let Crawl loose!) are after Cicely and in the maelstrom, the group learns that some of the people they depend on aren't dependable after all and others become more important to them.
There is a large cast of characters, but I had no trouble keeping them all straight. Some new developments have left me thinking that summer of next year is a long time to wait for the next book! I can't wait to see how Rhia and Cicely grow into their new roles as Queens and Wives.

The fourth book of the Indigo Court shows the rise of Cicely and Rhiannon as queens, and the final downfall of Geoffrey and Leo, but also introduces some new problems and brand new creatures.

If you've been reading this series, you know how chaotic Cicely's life has been up until this point. It's not about to get any better. With enemies on all sides and everything a priority, things are going to hell really fast. Galenorn's usual darkly sensual writing is paired with a pace that just won't let up.

With the cousin's coronation coming up, we delve deeper into the world of the Fae, and a fascinating world it is. I was so excited to find out more about this mysterious side of Cicely's heritage. Watching both Cicely and Rhia grow into the queens they're meant to be is quite the journey.

Myst is still lurking in the background, but for the moment she's still quietly gathering her forces, so in Night Vision, the time has come to focus on Geoffrey, former Regent, and Leo, former ally. They've been hiding and fighting dirty for some time, but Cicely and crew are going after them with a vengeance now. While hunting them down they discover some more secrets of the town of New Forest that I sincerely hope are explored a little more in the next book!

There's only one more book left in the Indigo Court series. I can't wait to see how Galenorn wraps things up for good. Cicely, Grieve, Rhiannon and Chatter all deserve their happy ending, even if it isn't an easy one. Myst is going down, and I'm going to have a ringside seat for that.

Night's Vision is book four in the Indigo Court series. This is a dark Urban Fantasy series, that I highly enjoy. There is always a ton of fighting, and the villains are truly wicked, they're fae vampires. The book's main character is Cicely, she's a owl shifter that also controls wind. In this book, Cicely and her cousin Rhiannon are finally crowned the Fae Queens of Winter and Summer. Every Queen needs their King, so they are also marrying their loves since childhood. Most of the book is showing Cicely learning how to be Queen and making decisions on how best to protect her people.

Nothing is that easy though, there are always challenges for the main characters in YGalenorn's books. Myst, the Queen of the Indigo Court is out to get Cicely, but while she doesn't play a huge part in this book the threat is still there. This time around the major case of cat and mouse is with the vampires that Cicely has dealt with in the past. Geoffrey and Leo free an insane vampire that is older than dirt and they wreak havoc in the city. Leo kidnaps Rhiannon, the Fae Queen of Summer, which lead to several quite dark scenes.

The Indigo Court series is a darker Urban Fantasy that revolves around the fae and also includes some of the many types of paranormal characters we love. As I mentioned above, there are fae, shifters, vampires and witches, so pretty much a bit of everything you could ask for. YGalenorn's world building is always excellent, and Night's Vision gives more depth in the changes the series is taking. I'll be reviewing Night's End, the last book in the series very soon and suggest the Indigo Court series if you're looking for a dark Urban Fantasy.
