Scott's never been the most confident of men. When he gets scared by something, running away has always seemed like a pretty good option. The latest letter he plans to give Joe is by far the hardest he's had to write. Knowing what might happen when Joe reads it terrifies Scott since the letter has the power to change everything between them.

Will Scott have the courage to hand over the note? And will Joe be able to calm his submissive's panic? Or maybe Scott's not the only one who’ll be scared once the content of the letter is out in the open...

Kim is a thirty-three year old bisexual submissive from Wales (UK). First published in 2008, she has since released almost 100 BDSM erotic romance titles ranging from short stories to full length novels. Having worked with a host of fantastic e-publishers, she has just moved into self publishing.

While she has occasionally ventured towards other pairings, Kim's first love is still, and probably always will be, Male/Male stories. But, no matter what the pairing, from paranormal to contemporary, and from the sweet to the intense, everything she writes will always feature three things - Kink, Love and a Happy Ending.

In this series, it seems that the surprises are just going to continue. Earlier on in the series the focus was very much on the physical. And while these last few instalments are still intensely physical, make no mistake, the additional focus on the emotional side of Scott and Joe's relationship is getting more intense with each book. This one is no exception.

Joe is in trouble. Scott presents him with a challenge that Joe has no idea how to deal with. It floors him, and he is desperate to solve the problem. In typical 'responsible Dom' mode, he thinks it's all his fault and that he can solve it by being more Dom-my. He couldn’t be more wrong, but when Scott finally tells him what the problem is, Joe STILL doesn’t really know what to do to make it right. It looks as if we're going to have to wait until the next book/chapter to find out.

Scott doesn’t know what to do. In typical Scott-fashion he decides to run. Even though he is trying to protect himself, it is very clear to me, if not to Scott or Joe, that it is already way too late. Scott's emotions, his desperation and total lack of understanding of what Joe is trying to tell him made me scream in frustration. Scott really doesn’t have a clue what is going on, and I don’t envy Joe the job of getting through to Scott. It'll take quite some doing!

I suspect the different stages of the relationship that Scott and Joe are building are more obvious because their story comes in individual chapters. Each stands on it own, while at the same time contributing to the whole. And since I have more time in-between one and the next, I find myself thinking about them more. It's as if Kim is 'forcing' me to savor this book by taking it sip by sip, or chapter by chapter. Very clever!

If you like D/s stories with a deepening emotional angle, if you enjoy reading about two lovers totally misunderstanding each other and trying desperately to figure out how to solve the problems they THINK they have, and if you’re a fan of Scott and Joe, you will probably like this story as much as I do. I can only say that I loved this surprise – and may there be many more.

Another great "chapter" in this series. Can't wait for the next one, but I know I'll be sad when it's over.

Oh lord. Things are deteriorating. I didn't like this one at all. I feel like they're both veering into a side of BDSM that could be dangerous or dubious at best, without proper guidelines. They didn't do anything dangerous HERE, but Scott is SO eager to please, I don't feel he'd use his safe word even if he WERE in distress. These two need to sit down and have a convo about limits and hard limits; they need an agreement, they need much more than one safe word. I am not claiming to be an expert by any stretch of the imagination, far from it, but I do expect these two to maturely discuss the parameters of their BDSM relationship like two consenting adults, before moving forward. Safe play is key!!

This series is designed to be read pretty much like each book is a new chapter. They are not standalone short stories and if you only read one or two, you will not get the full impact of the series as a whole.

Scott's most recent letter has Joe, the confident Dom, reeling. And he's not the only one. I had to give a big WTF to it as well. But knowing Scott the way we do, we recognize someone running for their life when we see it. Scott starts running while yelling "protect my heart!" at the top of his lungs. A bit dramatic to be sure.

And like a typical Dom, Joe takes full responsibility for Scott's behavior and automatically thinks that he's not being a good enough Dom if he can't make Scott happy enough to stay. This book ended with a bit of a cliff-hanger, but that's all good - I bought the whole series so on to the next!

This series is actually pretty good, but I would definitely rather read it in novel format. Both Scott and Joe are interesting characters, but those short releases are usually to short.
