Red Says I Love You

Rate this book
She passed up a four-year scholarship to put her husband through college. Then she paid her own way through after he was done...with college and with her, when he walked out the day after he got his degree. But now she was finished and enjoying a graduation present to herself in the form of one month in a mountain cabin between Bozeman and West Yellowstone. Things were definitely changing for Cass Wright. The vacation turned into a job opportunity at a local brewery. And she was intrigued by one of Bozeman's talented sculptors and spent money she didn't really have to buy one of his creations that she swore emitted invisible sex waves. It didn't take long to figure out that it wasn't the sculpture emitting those waves, but the sculptor himself. Josh's sculptures were not what most people would consider conventional. They each depicted a couple at one point or another in that journey where interest turned to desire, desire turned to hunger, and hunger turned to satisfaction. They weren’t pornographic or even exotic but more sensual or suggestive. He never used models, so it shocked him when he realized his latest sculpture was in the image of a woman he had seen the night before at a benefit for the Battered Women's Shelter. A woman with alluring green eyes, who was now standing on the outside of the ropes that cordoned off the area where he was working. The woman who just bought that same sculpture. Little did he know that in the coming days he would find life imitating art and then art imitating life...until she got that new job. Then he found himself way over a line that he hadn't even known was there.

Actually 4.99 stars, but it's not perfect because darlin' I'm from the south and we don't use the words "baby" or "sugar" half as much as it was used in this story with all these people from Montana! Just sayin'! Next order of business is to say Cass is lucky I didn't kick her fictional butt for being such an idiot! I love Josh and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to be with him! Lol! So I seriously love this book because I took it personally and felt like I was part of the gang. My emotions were right there with them. I loved all the characters...especially Andy! He is my gay soulmate and just plain awesome! I'm currently working on getting my employer to offer the same reimbursement package as Soloman brewing......not going so well:/ So just read this book....totally worth it!

I don't normally read romance novels but every once in a while I get in a mood where nothing else will do. This novel has to be the best romance novel I can remember reading in a very long time. The story just captivates you. I couldn't put it down! I will admit that Cas did get on my nerves a little toward the end. It gets to the point where you are ready to hit her over the head with a frying pan or just tell her off and make her go away but you just can't.

There is a lot of suspense and drama in this book, which I don't normally like, but this one completely hooked me. I guess it is because the characters are just so totally believable. I mean sure Josh is just a little too perfect to be real, right? But all the uncertainties and second guessing from both of them is completely believable.

I intend to find more books by this author because I really like her style. In most books I read I will catch myself skimming though parts or paragraphs because I don't find them entertaining but I didn't want to miss a single word of this story. The words just flow off the page.

I got this as a free download on my Kindle and will say one drawback was there aren't as many breaks as there should be when changing POV. It wasn't confusing when you read it because you could see the obvious shift but it would have been better if there was a line break or something when the POV shifted.

Oh and as one other reviewer pointed out, I think the author went a little overboard with the "sugar" and "baby" stuff but it didn't take away from the story.

I have to say that I read her other book Taming Clay, think that one was better, you definitely gets your monies worth with a book this long, and I get that the author really wants to tell the whole story.
Character development is great with book, you get to love so many people thought out and I laughed and cried.
Hr is the but.... To much on the business, and Cass really did get on my nerves a lot. Buck up baby, and Josh wow does this man cry so much.
It so needed to be shorter or at least the end needed to be more, more of the after so that we get to feel the joy and epilogue of the future a bit or something.
The end happen so quick that it was anticlimactic and a bit of a disappointment. The author delved so far with so many other things, that she left us with blah but ok happy.
I do suggest you read Taming Clay you will enjoy it I think more.
To the author of this book please enough with the coffee!

This is about the best love story I have ever read. It brought tears to my eyes quite a few times, made me laugh quite a few times, and even made me fall in love a few times. Please, if you like love stories, read this book. I usually read mystery/thrillers and a few love stories, this is the best!!!

Loved this story. Hot love story. Had to read another book by this same author so enjoyed it. Would really recommend it, you need know though some of the scenes are really steamy!

i absolutely was blown away by this book, i usually read all thoser omance books out there and soemtimes it gets lil too much like desire-fall in love-get hurt-big love kind of story. This book was different, characters were totally believeable and i laughed quite few times out loud cause it was hialrious even in sad parts of the story.I cried and felt compassionate for all the characters in there and when i was finished with the story i still kept thinking of this story and all the dearest characters in there.I miss them but it was the best ending there could be to it.

Main characters Cass and Josh were perfect for each other, alot of sadness in their lives after they met and fall in love, cause they cant be togheter. i absolutely adored Andy, the funniest gay guy there is,he was my favourite beside josh. The other good character was Garrisson, but i didnt like him for some reason that much, even tho he was part of teh group and had fun same as them.

Special relationship between Chief and Josh was believable, even tho they werent related by blood i still saw them as father and son.
Its the first book that has me thinking about it more than few days and i will reread it someday.Best book ive read in long time :)

I'm not much for love stories anymore, but this I will definitely be saving to reread.

Yes, the repetition was a bit mind-numbing for me, but that was compensated for by the characters I adored. As someone with a tragic romantic background, I can completely understand and sympathize with her lack of trust. Yes, I wanted to shake her for it, but when you see shades of yourself, it makes you keep reading.

Josh was the classic white knight. He's the perfect man- sweet, kind, caring, compassionate, and determined. The emotions felt real, and I can understand her lack of faith in him. When a man is that perfect, how can you NOT doubt him!? But love is written all over, under, and throughout the entire journey, and I loved the happy ending, not just for one character, but for all. I love a story that I finish with a smile, and this fit the bill.

Wow this book is definitely on my top ten books. I even called in late for work so I could finish it. I'm not gonna lie, I judge a book by its cover and put it off for a long time. I wish I hadn't though its so sweet and sexy. Its a book I would recommend to anyone who loves romance.

This was an amazing read for the first 70% of this book! I absolutely loved it... Buuuut...

What I loved~

I really want one of Josh's sculptures! Just talking about them in the book, I can feel them! And MAN!! He's freaking HOT!! Cass is a sweet cute thing too (at first) and her character summary is great! I couldn't wait for her to tell off her ex husband! I would do the exact thing in that situation as she did! No feeling bad, or that I had done something wrong... I loved all the haracters, their personalities etc. I never did connect with Garrison though. Just an FYI for later. There is so much more! It is worth the read!

Now.. What I absolutely hated!! OMG!!! ~

Holy shit! By 50% I was ready to slap Cass's Bitch ass self! I mean HOLY SHIT! Get over your freaking self! She was so damned worried about an inner office affair & that point was drug out for so long, I was ready for Josh to become gay! I actually wanted him to! Serves her right. It was actually played out pretty good & could have been wrapped up by the 70% range, but I checked my kindle & saw I still had 30% of her shit to put up with.

Just another side note... I get when autthor's throw stuff in proving their business knowledge, but COOOOMMME ONNN! It filled up 10% of this book describing adding new departments & talking software & hiring someone to head a department, when in the long run of the book, it mattered NOT!

And last, I get Josh's feelings of sadness, but the dude cried all the time. Be tough dude. Tell her what you think. You own the freaking company!

AND she'd put his ass through all that because of a possible sexual harrassment suit... for 50% of the LOOOONG book! I ended up bored.

I have never said in this instance (EVER) that this book should have been shorter. Too mush BS angst. It was an awesoome book though, it just needed to end earlier.

OMG! & seriouslly, the anti drinking was so pronounced in this like it was so bad & the company was a Brewery! Really?!?

Oh well!

This is the fifth novel I've read by Blake, even though it's one of her earlier published novels. It did have all the elements I've come to know, love, and expect: passionate love scenes, multi-faceted characters that develop throughout the novel, interesting side stories, and great writing. One of my favorite things about Blake's novels are the characters interact with secondary and tertiary characters outside of the relationship (friendships, families, co-workers), giving them a depth and a connection to the reader that isn't common among contemporary romances. The only thing that tripped me up was that it drug a bunch in the beginning and I had a really time getting into it. I know the length and more complex plots Blake uses necessitates more details than the typical contemporary , but it seemed more prevalent in this book than her others. However, once I got about halfway through, like all of her other novels I had a hard time putting it down.

While I liked the characters in this book and the story was a good one I felt that the book was about 10 chapters longer than it needed to be. There were so many unneeded details about his business and the accounting, shipping, receiving... It almost felt like a Business Admin textbook with a few romance chapters thrown in. I think that the background stories of both Josh and Cass would have been enough to carry the book with just a little bit of office romance problems.

If the bits about the running of his business and all the different departments had been kept to a minimum I think this could have been a 4 or 5 star story.

Yet another Raeann Blake treasure! She reminds me so often of KA in her talent at world-creating: I always feel as though I've jumped right into the story, I belong there w/ the characters, living their story w/ them.

Her main male characters are often cowboys who don't fit the usual mold: sensitive, insecure, unsure of what their next move should be....

Her female characters are usually quite strong-minded, independent and tend to clash w/ others, male and female.

If this is sounding formulaic, it's not. RB can always be counted on by me for a consistently entertaining, quality read.

Loved this, just as I love all of Raeann's other books. She fleshes out all of the characters and pulls you along the storyline. I rated this some time ago, but through the Kindle - there it only lets you rate with stars and not leave comments :)
