Scarlet Hyacinth was born in 1986, in a Romania still struggling under the weight of the communist regime. As a young girl, she started studying the English language and fell in love with books. After a childhood spent devouring hundreds of pages of fantasy literature, Scarlet found her calling. While at uni, she discovered with the help of a dear friend that she had a knack for writing. The rest, as they say, is history, or rather, lots of hard work and sleepless nights. Today, she can only say with a smile that nothing is impossible and that no matter what others say, you can achieve your dreams if you work hard enough.
3.5 - 4 I liked the story. but now we have Demons at the end to add to this confusing mix. I can't keep it all straight. In last book got rid of the evils (Tyrell and Aria Paris' mom, thankfully) now we have New ones and not just the demons.
I keep on thinking of Kaname from Vampire Knightwhen reading about the Kaname in this book. I couldn't help but wonder if Ms. Hyacinth got the idea for Kaname from the manga.
The story was okay and there wasn't anything very exciting about it. There's more stuff happening and readers discover that Tyrell is once again plotting something and it involves trying to cause distension within the vampire community and with the alliance between the paranormal community. To be truthful, I was a bit bored when reading the story at certain portions of the tale...
Not sure about the vampires as debauched sex crazed characters. Not to mention the going to ground thing. Also why does no-one in this series ever switch - they always stick to one gives and one receives which seems a bit rigid (ha-ha) to me. Where's the give and take? Why would supposedly uber-alpha wolf Derek bottom? Always? Looking forward to ending the series next book.
I wasn't to sure of how I would feel about this book when I first purchased it, but it was great! Derek and Kaname have a spark and passion for each other that has yet to be rivaled. The couple is a great addition to the series. Definitely worth the read! 5 STARS
Too much "Derek-san" to explain Japanese culture rather than using the setting to tell the reader you were in Japan. Not my favorite in the series by a long-shot, but the end brings up interesting new possible plots.
This wasn't a favorite of the series for me. I couldn't stay too interested in it, so it took me FOREVER to read. I'll continue with the series, but this is definitely a 2-2.5 star read.
