When she meet's the Alpha of the Silver Wolf Pack, life is set to get hot and steamy. Strong, confident and fiercely independent, Lucky has no intention of sharing her life with any man.
After waiting centuries to meet his mate, Ben finally finds her and loses her in one night. When he does, he needs the help of his pack to protect her from a stalker, who is out to take away his reason for living.
The Gods and Goddesses are watching Lucky and the Silver Wolf Pack. Unable to intervene in human affairs, they are left with no choice when the order of the future is set to be changed.
Over the last two decades, New York City has changed. Other species now live openly with humans. Friends you have known for the last ten years are now living openly as witches, warlocks, vampires and wolves. What you had previously known to be true is no longer as it was.
Where to start, I always get a little self-conscious talking about myself, I generally think I am pretty average and on occasion a touch boring. But let's see if a can hold your interest for a few lines (I tend to get carried away so a few lines may be optimistic). I have three wonderful albeit sometimes crazy daughters; they are very funny and sweet, yet at times they drive me up the wall. I have been happily married for twelve years and yes I do know that if I had murdered someone I would have had time off for good behaviour. In fairness I am not sure how my husband has not only put up with me, but has also remained supportive. About 3 years ago I completed an Undergraduate Degree in Social Work and have been a Child Protection Social Work since this time. Whilst I love my job it can be very time consuming, pressured and emotionally draining. What do I do in my spare time, well I cook, clean, iron, read stories, check homework, mmm what else? I READ and READ, seriously I started reading novels at the age of 13. Danielle Steel and Catherine Cookson were the first authors of adult fiction that I ever read (my mother was a huge fan), how did I feel, in a word devastated and exhilarated, no-one told me that people died and suffered in novels, it never happened in Enid Blyton books!!! I feel like some adult should have prepared me for this, maybe counselling, lol. Moving onto Jackie Collins and Jilly Cooper was less traumatic and more glamorous but all of the above authors were very important iin my reading experience. Over the years I have read across most genres, the first time I read a suspense novel I was terrified, when I read fictional crime novel, I nearly killed myself trying to work out who had actually done it. I have always inevitably strayed back to romance, always looking for that strong man to whisk me off my feet and take me into a fantasy land. Then about 2 years ago I stumbled into the Paranormal Romance Genre, wow I was hooked, this whole new world opened, romance, alpha males, sex and love combined with amazing story lines made reading a whole new adventure. This year my family faced tremendous upheaval, after making the life changing decision to move from the UK to Australia. This has been and continues to be an exciting adventure for all of us, however I am now in a job where I am discouraged from working 60-70 hour weeks, I have few friends, no local family and consequently fewer functions to attend. The result, The SILVER SERIES. I decided to channel my years of reading into something new. Honestly I was not expecting to pen anything that was remotely legible, but what started as one book has developed and I am now writing book 4. Writing has been an amazing experience for me, starting with an idea that over time develops into something completely different is so exciting. Reading a book when it is completed is such a thrill, in the Wolf with the Silver Smile there were times when the storyline made me feel very emotional, I actually walked away from the computer at one point and had to remind myself that I had written this book and knew the ending. Each book is a journey of its own.
Hopefully you are still awake enough to find out a little bit more about the Silver Series and the Silver Wolf Pack.
I remember reading this years ago and enjoying the tale, but I'm not sure why. In this read I found that the writing doesn't always flow, the dialogue is clunky.
I liked how the hero Ben was not in anyway put off by the heroine Lucky having four daughters. I did want Ben to be more of an Alpha wolf.
Silver Alpha is a ebook I got free from Amazon. To start off with, I love the strength of Lucky and that she doesn't "need" anyone to protect her or take care of her. And she has the talent to prove it. I like that Ben recognizes this trait in Lucky yet, he wants to protect "what is his" anyway, especially since Lucky is his mate. The fact that Ben's not put off by Lucky already having a family is great; don't see much acceptance of prior families in novels so it was a nice twist. Especially how Ben has to deal with 4 teenage girls.
After saying all that, Very bad editing hurt this story. I am no expert when comes to the English language especially spelling and word structure but there were sentences where I found myself reading it over a couple times because I was not sure if I was mis-reading it or not or if there really was a few extra words in there that did not belong. I normally don't complain about misspelled words and such but there really was way to many to over look.
Will I read the next book in the series, to be honest don't know.
The story was interesting and the heroine was actually kick-ass. I got to about 42% of the book and decided I couldn't deal with the spelling mistakes, wrong use of words (the witch had to 'consort' with her coven, I think it was supposed to be consult). Then there were times that a sentence that isn't supposed to be a question just ends with a question mark, making the character sound unsure. In Ben's case, very un-alpha-like. I kinda rolled my eyes for the reason that Lucky ran out on Ben the first night they met. The story has the potential just needs editing.
I have read this book & the series before & all of the books in this series series are excellent.
This is the beginning of Ben Silver & Lucky Rodriguez’s mating.
Ben is the Alpha of the Silver Wolf Pack & in this book/series they don’t know their mate by scent but by having sex (sometimes lots of it with different people/men or women).
Lucky works for a Paranormal Task Force & met Ben when she & her girlfriends went to his club.
But you’ll need to read the book to find out what happens with their mating.
Great book and the characters really grow on you. Loved the way the story developed. My only peeve is that none of the other books are on kindle unlimited and as I'm not made of money I unfortunately will not be carrying on with this series.
I got this ebook while it was free on Amazon for my kindle. One thing that kinda makes my nutty is poor editing in books. There were sentences where I found myself reading it twice and sometimes three times because I was not sure if I was mis-reading it, or there really was a few extra words in there that did not belong. There are mis-placed punctuation marks, and semi-colons where there should not be any, commas in odd places at times, and simple typographical errors. And yes, I am giving it 3 stars because I truly did like the storyline. If this were to be edited in its entirety it would be much more enjoyable.
Besides the above, as I said, I truly liked the story. I liked Lucky's character a lot because she is a very strong, smart, independent, and hard-working mom of four girls, and finds herself in a position that changes her life and her girls’ lives for the better, I think; though she seems reluctant at first to believe what deep down she feels is true, she eases into it and Ben, her Alpha gives her the time she needs. He is very understanding of that and respects her decisions, as it affects her daughters. I was quite surprised at the ending, to find out who was behind the kidnappings, and human tortures; truly never expected to find out who it was, but I guess you never know...
Anyway, I do hope this book gets edited, and revised, and republished, because it really is a great storyline. Once you get past the errors, I think readers will enjoy it too. I did get the 2nd book, so let's see what's next, huh? =)
I got this book free on Amazon, and while I enjoyed the overall story and the characters there were just some things that prevent me from giving it a better rating. Very bad editing, incorrect sentences or use of words and misplaced punctuation, drove me a bit nuts.
Now for the story, while I enjoyed the story, things like Lucky's name, in the beginning of the book she is Lucky Sanchez and towards the end of the book she is Rodriguez (?)... Anyway, her friends seem to form an important part of her life and while their presence is significant in the first few chapters, they just disappear afterwards. She is a police officer for the Paranormal Task Force; you would think that she had knowledge of the creatures that she worked with, yet it was her 10-year-old daughter that had to give her the facts about werewolves. That just made her seem like an idiot. I found the twins too mature for 10 year olds.
Having Amy as the villain just did not make sense to me... the character of the villain was well portrayed but choosing Amy did not seem logical.
All this said, the book was entertaining and I enjoyed it. I would like to read a new version of this story, an edited version, it has the making of a great book, but some things just need to be looked into.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Loved the relationship between the two main characters Ben and Lucky, and the way it developed through out the book.
I was going to deducted a star because the editing really does need looking at again. But I enjoyed the book so much, I read it in one sitting, getting annoyed with anyone disturbing me for mundane things like food!!!
It is a real pick and mix of paranormal beings, exciting with kick ass action, romance(hot), humor and a few baddies thrown in too. The characters are interesting and rounded, so much so you just want to get to know them all a little bit more. I look forward to Nicky's tale next and most definitely look forward to Theo in the third installment.
I will be downloading the next issue post haste.
If you like all of the above, don't hesitate this is a good book.
Happened upon this as a free read from Amazon and boy am I glad I did. I love the strength of Lucky and that she doesn't "need" anyone to protect her or take care of her. I like that Ben recognizes this trait in Lucky yet, wants to protect "what is his" anyway. The fact that Ben's not put off by Lucky already having a family is great; don't see much acceptance of prior families in novels or real-life much so it was a nice twist. I love the beginning to a wonderful series that encompasses family and love.
I loved this story so much. I am a total sucker for a sweet love story and is an amazing example. The story is gripping, interesting and clever. The characters are charming and likeable and the atmosphere created is addictive, I couldn't stop reading. A real mix of paranormals and humans set in a really wonderful story. Going straight on to the second, will be following this author with interest. You wont be disappointed with this book, fantastic.
As much as I loved reading this book I had to give it only 3 stars, due to some of the poor editing. I had to read some sentences twice in order to understand what the Author meant. I also found the end a little bit anti climactic! I was expecting a bit more in the way of trouble for Lucky ( don't want to give to much away). Having said that....I will read the second book in the series. I do recommend this book but only if you can cope with spelling mistakes and some grammatical errors.
This heroine is definitely not the norm. She is divorced, human, an empath and the mother of four entertaining girls. Her alpha mate is so realistic you since when he says things knowing it is such a guy mistake. The story is very good once the characters are interacting. I wish she had shown rather than "told" us so much, but that is not a deal breaker. Off to book two!
I try to support GR authors when I can by purchasing their works. Unfortunately, I could not finish this book. The editing was non-existent so it made the book very difficult to read. The grammar and punctuation were poorly executed. Run on sentences and split infinitives did not help. I am sure this could have been a very decent story if it had been edited before it was published.
Another Kindle freebie. IMHO this could have been a really good read but the lack of editing made it a very hard read. Commas have been sprinkled liberally through the writing and some phrases make absolutely no sense at all ie his eyes were the dark and hooded and Gods damns it . In some cases, I don't even think that a basic spell check was employed. A real pity!
I really enjoyed the storyline with its creative twists. Started with fireworks, then the characters are slowly revealed and you slowly get to enjoy the love story as it unfolds. Only negative is the editing and grammar, it distracted from the wonderful story. I definitely plan to continue with the series.
This book needs alot of editing. I started skimming at the 30% mark. I was distracted by the errors...like the same name spelled differently, commas in strange places, or no commas...and scenes out of sequence. There was also too much description...instead of dialogue. I think it had potential, but the errors got in the way of me truly enjoying this book.
The storyline, plot and character development were awesome. The ONLY reason I didn't give this book 5 stars and won't finish the series is the editing is horrendous. I'm talking about words being split in two. Names being spelled differently within the same paragraph. It's ridiculous. I usually try to overlook it, but this was very distracting.
I really enjoyed this, the story line was interesting, the characters quirky and by the ending i wanted to know more about some of the other characters mentionned. Definately going to read the second book and wait for the third.
Considering i wrote this book i have to say it is amazing, gripping and one of the best i have read, inline with it's sequel, the Wolf with the Silver Smile!!!I was somewhat pleased to see it has already been reviewed and is under review:)
I enjoyed elements of this book. What I didn't quite get was the fact that Lucky had 3 daughters - the start of the book just didn't indicate that she would have 3 daughters who were around teenager age. Apart from that I did enjoy the book.
Good easy read, no brain power required although I agree with what a few people have said about the lack of editing...and I paid for it, it wasn't a Kindle freebie.
