Trisha Grove enjoyed her job as a pilot for Boswell International but realizes something is still missing from her life – her family. She is ready to call it quits and head back home to Wyoming where her father lives. She never expected her last flight for Boswell would end with an unplanned trip out of this world. Trisha isn’t sure at first what is real and what isn’t; all she knows is she is determined to get back to her dad no matter what it takes.

Kelan Reykill is the fourth son in the royal line of Valdier. Commander of the V’ager, one of the largest Valdier warships, he prides himself on his strict self-discipline, his ability to remain in command in any situation, and his skill at handling any challenge. That is, until he meets a stubborn human female from the primitive planet his older brother sought refuge on. Now, all he can think about is how to get the female into his bed and under his control while staying in one piece.

When she is taken from him, Kelan will track Trisha to the ends of the universe and further because he knows one thing – she is his true mate and he will do anything; kill anyone, who tries to harm her.

***4.0 "Tag! You're it" stars***

Totally enjoyed this installment! The last book had too much repetition but this one was far better. Trisha was very original and I liked her personalty and her independent strength.

Trisha loved to play tag with her father's military recruits. She would stalk and kill them off one by one. Not literally, but with paint guns. She would then explain how she tracked them and what they did wrong. Lets just say her skills came in pretty handy!!

I can only hope that the next book is half as good as this one!!

I REALLY need Terac and Jaron to get girls. Don't make me love characters and then not give those characters the love they deserve.

Could have been 4 stars, but I'm getting sick of reading the same scenes over and over in each new book, just from different perspectives. I get why it is that way, but it's kinda tedious. Also, there were errors that a good pre-reader should have caught. I kept getting thrown off track because I would re-read a sentence just to figure out what it was supposed to be before I could move on.

Yes, I bought the 3rd in the series to see which alien dragon brother discovered that one of the four friends was his soul mate. To the author's credit, she is keeping the storylines consistent from perspective to perspective of the four alien brothers and the four Earth women who were abducted from their cabin in the mountains. Which means if you've read the first in the series, you've pretty much read all of them.

I like this series, and I want to like it a lot more. There needs to be more dialogue and the repeated scenes from each woman's point of view makes it hard to read. I keep hoping each book gets better, but its just too repetitive. I love the erotic scenes (good dirty talk to) and the humor involved, but it just needs a jolt of something more.

I really like Trisha's book. I love that she's such a good tracker and learned from her dad. I was sad to read when I learned she had left Earth and her dad was still alive back there.

This novel was action packed while still remaining intrinsically fun. Smith’s writing really shines. Intensely hot sex was countered by unendingly exciting suspense. Vibrant descriptions bring Valdier to life in an unforgettable manner. Smith has created a planet with a seamless history, mythology, and geography that I would love to visit.

I love the way that this series is put together. The overlapping stories of all the different characters at the same time build an entire, multidimensional world that I can’t get enough of. Not only do I know what happened to other characters during this same time period, but Smith gives hints as to what is yet to come.

I enjoyed how tough these women are and that it doesn’t detract from their emotions. Trisha is the epitome of these. Everything that Trisha had been through broke my heart. I also enjoyed how her dragon speech patterns were different from her human ones, providing extra insight to readers. The epic role reversal that Trisha’s character provided for the Valdier was fascinating. I loved seeing the different reactions to what she did. The dragonfire mating becomes even more clear to me with Trisha’s transformation. The various aspects involved were breathtaking. Getting a closer look at Kelan’s symbiot allowed me to understand the trio better. Smith has created such unique characters. The mix of fierce and cuddly was so pronounced yet real that I couldn’t help but laugh and fall in love at the same time.

Smith has definitely created an unforgettable addition to the Dragon Lords of Valdier. By answering some questions I’ve had about the world and showing peaks at what’s to come next she not only has me dying to read the next book but also to be a Dragon Lord’s true mate.

I was a bit disappointed in Tracking Trisha. We meet her and her True Mate Kelan Reyhill who is the 4th son in the Royal line of Valdier and Commander of the largest warship V'ager. Trisha Groves Is a divorced 28 year old pilot and skilled tracker hunter. Trisha was taught by her father Paul who owes Groves Wilderness Guide a school for training elect military.

The story is fragmented and 50% of the story re tells books 1 and 2 with no variation. It's a complete copy of what happen in the former stories. There is very little story about Trisha and Kelan. The series has begun to look like a cookie cutter series to me. The really good parts were at the very last page and the epilog of the story. Which were only a few pages. I wish the author had invested her time in writing the story of when Trisha returns to earth Wyoming to get her father. The few different scenes involving Trisha and Kelan that were different from bks 1 and 2 were written in haste and very short.

I Cannot Recommend Tracking Trisha and I am not sure I will read bk 4 Ambushing Ariel. I don't care for repetitiveness!!

I love this series. The premise of alien abduction of Earth women continues in this the third books of the series.
Trisha's tale is told with her destined mate Kelin having his own set of problems getting her to cooperate and agree to be his true mate. Trisha isn't a girly girl and has been raised to survive in any setting. I have loved each story that told of the unique talents each Earth girl had but Trisha's is equal to Cara's for me as being my favorite. And the use of the 'tag' was hilarious. It's also fun to watch breakaway cameo's from the previous books twisted into the story line and adapted. Some readers don't appreciate that but I do so this was terrific.
The erotica isn't too prominent and there are several editorial issues but for the price of this book I didn't care. If this book would have cost more I might have made the point that the editorial issues should have been cleaned up and deducted my rating but I didn't and won't.
Great book from a great and upcoming author.

Audiobook Review:
Overall – 5
Performance – 5
Story – 5

I’m really loving this series!

There’s something about this series that has really grabbed me and I am enjoying listening to the audiobooks so much! This is not my normal read but I’ve gotten hooked on it and plan to listen to all of the audiobooks. I’m really impressed with David Brenin’s performance of the stories.

Tracking Trisha is full of lots of action (some of it is kind of gory) and parts kept me on the edge of my seat. Trisha is such a strong woman and she isn’t afraid to let the alien men know that she can take care of herself.

I really enjoyed listening to Trisha talk about her father and I loved the set up for him to get his own book and I can’t wait to listen to it, after I read the next two books that come before it. 😊

I love this series. SE Smith always draws me in.

I love that her MCs are diverse and while the males are Alpha they can learn how their mates need them to appreciate them. She also has her female leads intriguing and diverse. I liked that Trisha made mistakes and apologized for it

I absolutely loved Trisha, I loved that she panicked and wasn't accepting of her dragon at first. To me it was a nice side note on a different view of what had happened tot hem all. I also liked The Terac and Jaron introduction. I hope we will see them again.

On a tangent I'm hoping we learn more about the Symbiot and what they are.

HOLY CUT AND PASTE, BATMAN!!!

Sweet, Jesus!! Am I the only one who is tired of reading the same damn parts over and over again?! Look, I tried. I genuinely tried to give this series a chance! It started off promising with a few issues in Abducting Abby. Frustrated me thoroughly with Capturing Cara but I figured that there could still be a chance at evolving into a good book by the third installment.

NOPE!

I couldn't STAND the "Alpha male" attitude of Kelan. It wasn't, "he's a strong man and isn't use to having his orders questioned" kind of attitude. It was the, "I WANT IT! IT'S MINE!", whiny baby attitude. Mine, mine, MINE! GIMME! Blech!

The dragons of both Trisha and Kelan where spoiled brats. You want to write a strong woman with a strong dragon, stop with the "I'm telling our mates on you!" baby fucking attitude!

Kelan's Dragon: "MINE! I WANT! MINE! NOW"
Trisha's Dragon: "OOH, I'M TELLING!!"

Ugh.

And, I'm sorry, but did anyone else catch the fact that Kelan, didn't get Trisha's agreement to mate? He just decided that he was horny, couldn't stand waiting for her to agree to have sex, so he bit her, injecting her with this "dragon's fire" so that she would become horny enough to accept him?! Yeah... Where I'm from, that's considered rape. He basically drugged her so that she wouldn't resist. However, that doesn't send Trisha running for the hills. What sets her off is the fact that he turned her into a dragon against her will. Honey, it was all without your say so.

It's another book with an overabundance of sex, too much drama, lazy writing and frustrating characters. Again, I like sex in my romance but the amount in this book just makes me yawn.

I don't think I can stomach another one of these books if the writing doesn't get better. Someone let me know if it does or if it is a good thing that I stopped when I did.

I love this series!!! I am in love with how all the stories fit together and the way the author backtracks to fit the puzzle pieces together. You might think you know how things are after reading the first two books, but really you have missed so much!!

Getting into Trisha's story you also get more background on Ariel and Carmen. They grew up together and have a very strong bond. Trisha sheds light on other happening on the ship as well as in the palace when they land.

It is fabulous that she turns out to be this totally tough chick who can hold her own in the wilds. You can feel her strength throughout the story. She has overcome so much, it breaks your heart for her, then puts it back together with her dragon mate!

Kelan, like his brothers, is arrogant and clueless when it comes to Earth women. Fortunately, he is willing to learn and see the light in the end. It takes his fierce and stubborn mate to teach him!

There is as always a delicious amount of steam in the stories. It is a very smexy read with action as both humans and dragons. Hold onto your panties!!

The overall story flows and has plenty of movement. The plot thickens from the first book with the uncle and his treachery. There are many elements coming together and the intrigue grows even more with this book. I can not wait to see what happens to the sisters, cause there are plenty of hints here!!

David Brenin is, as always, a delicious treat for my ears! He has a terrific feel for the characters and makes the story sing. I love his smexy voice, when he says all those naughty things, makes a gal blush all over! His pace is spot on and flows wit the movement of the story. He gives really good ears!!

I am enamored with this whole series and eagerly await them all releasing in audio!

Tracking Trisha is the third book of the Dragon Lords of Valdier series. Unlike the others in previous books, I liked her background before she was kidnapped. Yet, in a way, I feel like Cara might be my favorite character so far.

Just like in the previous two books, we are going over the same damn scenes that happened in the first book. Even if it's from a different point of view.. I'm just bored. I get it when some books have different pov's when it comes to that certain characters book.. but it doesn't happen all the dang time. It might be like a scene or two. Not the entire book and it's only just different once the character is taken and the other one is like - oh shit, need to go into save mode and get the girl.

In the end, I'm hoping the books after book 4 don't follow this trend. Please, dont.

Fantastic, fun, hot and action-packed! Trisha has to be one of the strongest female characters I have read in Sci-fi and gives her Kelan almost as much anguish as Cara did to her Trelon in #2. These women are no wimps and I am sure the series will continue in that fashion.
I had read Dragon Lords of Valdier #1-3 back in 2018/19? (I didn't keep many records then). I set this great series aside as I often do when I don't want it to be over. Alas, it was lost in my overstock of 'want to read' novels. Before continuing with Ambushing Ariel #4, I thought a little refresher of #1-3 was due. Refresher turned into total rereads and with so many other reads in between 2018 and 2020, I realized just how wonderful a writer Ms. Smith is.

Cheers

And it continues

This series seems to be one that is best read in order as it is a continuous storyline with separate books for the different characters. The characters are all different but with great connections and that is what makes this series work so well. Each couple has an amazing storyline that works well for them but is truly just part of the whole. Really enjoying this series.

Kelan & Trisha

This series has me hooked.
If I had to say one word about Trisha fighter comes to mind.
If I had to say one word about Kelan leader comes to mind.

I loved the prologue, Intro whatever you want to call it. Because it gave me a base of how to see Trisha. She isn't a girly girl. AND that is totally fine! We are not all girly girls. I wanted to kick her ex's ass! Just saying.

I feel like we know a lot about Trisha and not a lot about Kelan. I mean we know he is the oldest? He needs a mate. But what do we really know of him? I think if we knew him more this would have been 5 stars for me.

I <3'd the whole tag thing. It was funny and awesome how she got the drop on all these big males.
The writing in this book is impeccable. You feel apart of the world its like a living movie in my head. I didn't think I wounder what that is or what does this means, not once and there was a lot of different locations in this book. So I loved that.

Omg was I the only one that was like when are they going back to earth? I was waiting and waiting!! It happened when it should but still I was on the edge of my seat I wanted it to happen right away lol.

Ok so let me tell you why I gave this book 4 stars because of the three books I have read so far I liked it the least and it wasn't because of the characters. The author has taken the style of going over with each book the point in time where this set of women get abducted. OK that's cool but I need more of a different perspective to not feel like I'm reading the same stuff over and over again and this lasted for what 50% of the book. Really! Look the idea is really cool but don't work on it more than the story. The potential of the book was greater than what was delivered.... bummer.

Now why I really like the story was that Trisha was a kick butt kind of gal and I loved that. I loved the fact that you brought in more guys so the hope that we can have more stories about a different group of women from earth got me excited. (diversity) :-) I just wish we had more of the story in the present or a better build up for the future (that doesn't revolve around the girls) Not that they aren't worth reading about but...

I know the author has all these spin off books I hope I just don't lose interest in the story line before I'm ready to read them. I'm not really good with "same ole sh*t, different toilet".

Liked Trisha.

I was going to do this detailed instruction manual of what incredibly complicated order to read the books in, but life is too short! Basically, I read books 2-5 at the same time, skipping between them at points of intersection of the books! Because! Spoilers! Ye flippin' gods the spoilers between books. And it irritated me. I had to keep going to the next book (books 6 to... 9?) because the previous book was spoiling. I skipped the sex scenes. I started reading the series because my Amazon kept suggesting I should read the Dragonling's Christmas and such. I wanted the adorableness!!! And they were adorable... But thank gods I'm out of that interminable morass of nonsense!! Ah, plenty of continuity errors, mostly timeline.

This series is getting better and better with every new book.

After Trisha and her friends were taken from earth. Things quickly turn for the worse.. Kelan can't get Trisha to talk to him much less mate with her. When Trisha gets scared and runs. Kelan has a hard job finding her. Until she lets him find her. But just as things were getting good and their relationship blossoms into some strong and true. Trisha get kidnapped it is up to her to keep herself and baby safe until Kelan can find her.. Question is will he be able to find her before the dark creatures on the remote planet moon strike...

The pilot and the warrior

All Trisha wanted to do was resign from her job and go home to her father. Not happening. She and the girls have to rescue Abby from a crazy psycho sheriff. Then help comes from the sky in the form of dragons. Kelan comes to earth to get his brother and his mate. Simple enough right? Not even close. First his brothers mate gets kidnapped then he meets his mate. Kelan expects her to be small and delicate, not kicking his butt all over the place.
I like the way the story is written, it has action, humor and love.

This is one of those series that you need to begin with Book 1 - 'Abducting Abby'. Otherwise, you won't know what's going on or who all the characters are.

Minus 1/2 star for grammatical and typo errors... a proof-reader is needed!

Starting to get a bit monotonous. Reading the same story from different perspectives is still essentially the same story. Doesn't really start getting interesting until I'm beyond the same bits as in the first 2 books.
