In a world where things are not what they seem, Farris Landry discovers a few important truths: the power of friendship can transcend tragedy; death is not always permanent, and myth is not the fallacy she once believed. Karma, Providence and Calamity are tangible souls whose lives are now inexplicably twined with her own.
Set upon a course that will forever change her life, Farris battles elements beyond her control to save an innocent girl from the wrath of someone determined to destroy her: The Fate of Chaos.
It is a journey of growth, perseverance and the realization that she is stronger than she ever thought possible.
Born and raised in Corona California, Danielle now resides in Texas with her husband and two sons. She has been writing for as long as she can remember, penning works in a number of genres. To date, she has published 49 novels and nine short stories. Her interests vary wildly: reading, traveling, photography, graphic art and baking, among others.
So book 2 continues after a cliffhanger and our main character Farris Landry is the new Fate of Destiny. Roles are defined as new characters come into play and the slow budding relationship between Emerson, a Chaos Weaver and Farris emerge. Best friend Beelah still stays close to Farris as these two ride the coattails of Emerson and Theron, another Chaos Weaver. But as new characters emerge so does the danger and unpredictable situations arise that has our small group of heroes out to save mankind.
Good story. Long in some places. Frustrating in others. And it seems Emerson keeps inhibiting Farris with his over-protection; when he needs to let her do her thing and fly. Farris will have really slow growth as the current Fate of Destiny with his concerned over-shadowing with nefarious forces in play.
This is book two in the fate series. My previous review of book ! covers it so consider this a review of the two books. An interesting premise and cleaver writing. The concepts of fate, chaos, destiny, calamity and other outcomes are ascribed to characters of this book. In other words there are people walking around, visible to others who control these outcomes. The goal is to keep chaos and destiny in balance. When a young woman learns that she is a writer of destinies after years of compulsively writing short stories, the drama begins. About the same time another young becomes a weaver of chaos and she sets out disrupt the balance between chaos and destiny. Weaved into all of this is a romance between the central character and a weaver of chaos , a pact with a best friend, a war between good and bad and so forth. Believe it or not it all hangs together in an interesting, fanciful YA story that I enjoyed.
