When a woman comes forward with a hazy memory of her deranged uncle from decades ago, small town police officer and single mom Megan York finds herself stirring up a cold case that her town has wished forgotten. But as new bodies surface, a sudden urgency arises. Not as urgent, though, as Megan’s need to keep her family safe from her ex-con husband. Can Megan handle it all? Or will the darkness claim her?

“The plot has many twists and turns, but it is the ending, which I did not see coming at all, that totally defines this book as one of the most riveting that I have read in years.”

Listened to the audiobook. Reader was mediocre.

Interesting premise & some good twists and turns in the story. Ending was somewhat unexpected.

Well, I hoped this one would be better than the first two, but that is not the case.

When the author separated scenes with three asterisks, the computer-generated narrator read aloud, “Asterisk, asterisk, asterisk.” 🙄 There were paragraphs written in third person, and the next in first person. “She” when referring to a man and vice versa.

I can’t believe the author didn’t listen to this before publishing. If I hadn’t bought the first four books at once I wouldn’t bother with anything else written by this author.

I enjoyed this read storywise.. however the many grammatical etc.. errors detracted from my enjoyment. I will be reading the remaining books in this series. This story did have a smidgen of a plot twist which I always enjoy. I also enjoy the subtle romance that is transpiring. Look forward to what's next in this series.

Book 3 in the Megan York series. Another serial killer with mysterious motives keeps the fast paced narrative moving as Megan works to solve the case and monitor her ex husband after his release from prison who is pushing to spend more time with their daughter. A quick entertaining read.

The story itself was good. I listened to the audiobook and the reader is mediocre at best. It sounds like a computer is reading the book.
