About the author

Bridgette Ehly had a 15-year career as an award winning TV news journalist. Now she stays at home with her kids and writes about strange things.

Her imagination has run wild since she grew up in the thick woods of Indiana, a place where fallen trees are castles and winding streams lead to other planets.

She graduated from Indiana University and worked as a reporter in Dallas and Boston and anchored news programs in Ohio and Texas.

She lives near Louisville with her husband and two children. When they aren’t experimenting in the kitchen, they ride horses and hike in the forest around their home.

Her favorite authors are Jack Finney, Ursula Le Guin, Richard Peck, Samantha Hunt, C.S. Lewis, and George McDonald.

This book was written by a good friend of mine and I loved it!!! Having worked as a reporter myself, it was fun to recognize some of the scenarios we experienced in the field, as well as get a glimpse of what things may have been like had I chosen to further my career. For those readers who haven't experienced that first hand, it offers a view into a very different world. The reporters in the story race from covering the sadness of a missing person, to the horror of a murder, straight into the glamour of a horse farm; all in one day's work. NOT an easy job; the book follows several reporters struggling to deal with the things they face at the office and on the streets. Each reporter has a different moral compass and there is a beautiful thread of Christianity that runs through the story, as a higer power helps steer their path.
This book was different than what I normally pick up; but I'm so glad I read it and highly recommend it!!

This is exactly the kind of book that we need more of! Ehly has found a way to craft a book about a Christian character who loves God but who is also real. This book contains all the elements of a real journalist's life - sex, crime, political intrigue - while interweaving the lives of three different news reporters. It doesn't hurt that the story is set in Louisville, where I live. Any open-minded, thoughtful person who enjoys an inspiring story about real life should get a copy.

I never really thought about where our news stories came from, until I read "Going Live". It makes interesting reading to see what manipulations and endeavors go on behind the cameras, on top of the office politics that go on everywhere. This book is enlightening and entertaining, a must read.

Ms. Ehly does a wonderful job sharing the life of a mid-size market tv reporter. Her descriptions of Louisville and her characters pull the reader in to the world of reporting. I will never watch the news the same way again!

This book was well written, giving the reader a taste of the world of news reporting. It was easy to become emotionally involved with the characters. I'm looking forward to Bridgette's next book.
